This might be limited to zombies, but it seems like when they dynamically spawn, they spawn twice. For instance, deathlock wights seem to spawn twice as many and when a quest script spawns them it also spawns them twice (e.g. in the Ebon Downs quest where you enter the Crypts of Kelemvor). I started a new character last night and I've noticed this phenomenon several times while going through the leveling quests. There's definitely something screwy going on when it comes to zombies spawning.

As a side note, why in hell are certain werewolves suddenly using a 100% full-heal on themselves with no warning? Talk about a you-know-what move. They're hard enough for healers to kill as it is!
