Account server timed out

I've been getting the error message "connection to account server timed out try again later" for nearly 2 hrs now on Xbox. This in Denver metro area USA. I have good internet(as I am writing this from my laptop on my household internet, same as xbox is on). I don't think it's an XBL problem, but can't verify as I don't play any other games on xbox.

What is wrong?
