Control resist stat - does it stack?

artemida123artemida123 Member Posts: 3 Arc User
I have Sylph companion adding 50% control resist. Wishing to buy armor artifact with 85% control resist stat in legendary ver. Will both buffs sum up to 100%? Or will the artifact overwrite the companion buff and final stat stucks at 85%?

Control Resist is IIRC a reduction in the amount of time you are controlled. A 100% time reduction isn't the same as immunity but cuts the time in half.

This is a bit simplified but the game figures time reductions by modifying the base time by (1+Modifier)

Effectively, if you have a 100% reduction then the modifier is 1, so the time is divided by (1+1) therefore (2) A 200% reduction would divide the time by 3 "1+2"

Just an FYI, in my experience the newer control effects are not affected by control resist, basically from River District on. The stun from the stone eye, mez and paralyze from Yuan Ti, stuff like that. I stopped wearing the Elven battle and swapped out the Sylph companion on my GF because of this.

is this actually true? i always thought its just multiplicative reduction. for example having 20% cc res twice would be 0,8x0,8 = 0,64 meaning 36% cc reduction

Ok, I knew it wasn't exactly right, which is why I said it was simplified. Which isn't accurate but still the point being you can't stack up to immunity.

And yeah most of the new effects don't respect CC defenses.
