does anyone know where i can find gold bars? iv'e tried searching the wiki and can find no information on this item.

    Professions vendor in PE sells them. The summonable profession vendor from VIP also sells them.

    Can anyone here explain what they are used for?

    Is it just to be able to stock pile gold in inventory after a cap is reached? I thought I had seen a place to spend them, but can not find it again anywhere, or was I just seeing them for sale only?

    It is for you to sell gold (in gold bar) in AH.
    You can just sell the gold bar to any vendor to get the same amount of gold.
    You cannot sell gold in AH. Gold bar allows you to sell gold in AH.
