Spellplagued Cavern - Cannot open chest after final battle even with key in inventory

Multiple times now random dungeon queue has placed my party in Spellplagued Caverns and at the completion of the final boss battle the chest has been unavailable even though I had a daily dungeon chest key in my inventory.
I can't say whether this same error happened for other members of the party since the majority of them just leave immediately after completing the battle and I have not had an opportunity to ask any party member if this was the case for them also.
I planned on turning in a ticket but didn't find the appropriate category for the report as of yet.
