Made a Big Auction House Mistake

So I buy and sell a lot through the auction house, it's one of my ways of earning some extra AD here and there. Normally, I always sell everything with a bid price of 1 AD that way I get to skip the posting fee. I opened a lockbox yesterday and got a Moderate Barkshield Enchantment (700k AD!) and went and put it on the auction house since I don't currently have any characters that could benefit from it, plus I could do a lot with that much AD. So my stupid self, being so used to posting everything with a 1 AD bid, I accidentally posted my Barkshield with a 1 AD bid and now its at 33 AD bid so I cannot remove it from the AH and I really really don't want to end up having it sell for hundreds of thousands of AD short of what I should get. So I have no idea where I proceed from here, but I could really use some help figuring this out. Is there someway I could still get what I should for it, or a way I can get it taken off the AH? If not, does anyone want to start bidding it higher for me? If I could, I would bid the 750k AD myself on another account and get it back but you can't bid on your own auctions.

Once the auction gets closer to finish it will shoot up in bids likely. You will still probably get less than it’s worth but people watch the auction house looking for such deals and will likely get into a bidding war.

    That hurts.
Guaranteed there's a bunch of players keeping an eye on that bid. If you priced it fairly and it's a good enough value, there's a decent chance someone will swoop in before the last minute.

That's what happened to me once - not with anything so valuable, mind, but it definitely taught me a lesson about bids. I rarely use them anymore. If I'm posting a bargain, I often include the AH cut in the price.

Any chance a guild buddy could help you out?

I started playing on the PS4 and had my own guild and had a ton of people that would of done it for me but I just started on PC and am in a guild that I just joined about a week or two ago. And I am hoping the bid goes up. If I at least get 500k+ I will be more than happy. I just would die if it ends up selling for 100k or something that low

Ooh, that's rough. Hopefully it won't go for too little. I'm not sure how much it would help, but you could maybe advertise it in-game and try to get people daydreaming about picking up a mod. Barkshield for dirt cheap. A bidding war could save your tail, at least mostly.

This makes me remember back to my youth (Mod 3-4ish  ), I saw something I wanted on the AH that normally went for over 100,000AD and someone had apparently left off a couple zeroes! It was only around 1,000AD, and I knew that couldn't have been intentional. I immediately snatched it up, and I have to be honest here, I briefly considered keeping it. That was good chunk of change for me back then. In pretty short order though I had to do the right thing, so I emailed the item back to the person explaining what I thought had happened. They replied it was a total accident and thanked me, offering something back for my trouble (and AD), but I told them not to worry about it, just be more careful and good luck.

Just recently, I left a zero off of a Legendary mount. would have been the only Leg mount for 1,099,999.

Fortunatelty, I knew what I had done as soon as I pressed the button. But I was decided that if it sold in the 10 secs it took me to cancel the auction, I would just eat it, as it was my mistake.

Not so long ago I saw someone posting a tyrannosaur pack at 1.3m, I got so much surprised that it took me 10 seconds for me to realise it was missing a zero, unfortunately the guy saw it and canceled it :(

I believe there are many people making this kind of mistake, now I often check high priced items just because sometimes people like him or you forget a zero lmao

The best I ever did was score some decent profession stuff (blue / purple) for 1AD each, including Adventurers and heroes. Some guy mentioned in zone that he lucked out on something profession-related for 1AD, so I started scanning the AH, and found a bunch of others. Total luck, especially since adventurers were pretty pricey back then, and you could still get AD via leadership, so it really helped out.

Been there. Done that. Only without the "Fortunately...." When you do an AD:Zen conversion and realize what that is in real world dollars, you don't make that mistake twice. :#:#
