Chult Progression - any advice from PC players?

armadeonxarmadeonx Member Posts: 4,952 Arc User
Hey guys, I'm wondering what is the most efficient way to progress with the Chult campaign.

Do any PC players have advice on the best way to approach the tasks and campaign window?

Thanks

Straight up the middle first. That will expand your weekly allotment of totems. Then either hunts or boons as you can afford.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

This campaign seems pretty simplified as far as paths go due to the way hunts work.

I would go up the center path to increase your totem haul for each week. This will also allow you to unlock Tomb also, so win win. Once you hit the cap for totems each week, start searching for the bottom tier hunt creatures and collect the lure materials by emailing them to yourself. Kill any trex you can find and do the same. These are normal spawns so you can do them without having to unlock any hunts.

Once Tomb is unlocked, you can start up either the boons path (the boons are fairly weak IMO), or the hunts path. The hunts path just allows you to create the lures for the hunts. Hunts are a good source of salvage AD and some gear that can be useful for some (Boots of the Alpha are great for most DPS). Hunts also grant a separate pool of totems, but its not major unless you grind the heck out of hunts.

Another tip - switch to your Armor Pen boon unless you are way overstacked on ArP already. It helps a lot. I would also suggest using something other than soulforge for general fights. Negation and Barkshield work well, cause stuff in Chult hits HARD.

Another thing you can do is to wait to get all the Chult treasures only once you have maxed your totems for the week, some of them give you extra totems, so you can get a bit more totems over the weekly maximum. The Chult treasure also can drop decent refining and salvageable items.

I have opened treasure chests before maxing my weekly haul and the totems from that didn't affect what my campaign tracker listed. If I had 20 left to get, getting them from the chests didn't change that.

You take an alt and do the first hunt task on it. You use it to buy lures for your main. Go up the middle tree with your main, but do 25 T1 hunts a week for the uncapped totems. The Chultan Hunter pet is also an awesome buy, and worth the cost.

This. I did the same. I have lower level OP alt that probably will be too weak for new dungeon (as tank) but I can comfortably solo Chult even with Twisted weapons. I went straight middle path on 3 main characters and on that alt I'm going all the way for Hunts (I also claimed there the pack from PE with 50 totems).

I guess in a group of friends only one would have to unlock Hunts and then buy lures for the rest since they can be traded.

BTW, how that companion works? Does it increase the weekly cap for totems or what?
