Can somebody explain to me how dmg boost from base stats works?
Don't have an ACT.
My assumption (which must be wrong and needs to be corrected)
I do 100 dmg, I have 100% crit chance and 100% crit severity: 200 dmg.
If I add +2 base stat that increases dmg 2% dmg: 102 dmg -> 204 dmg.
Or is it?
now, If I choose to play Drow, which doesn't have my stat (provided I am able to proc it consistently)
100 dmg -> 200dmg output -> 5% debuff from dark fire -> 205 dmg
So where is the mistake I'm making? I assume that:
1) base stat dmg increase doesn't work like this.
2) debuff percentage does not increase dmg like this
3) both
Why is this game so cruel and does not want me to know things?
Also, if it is super complicated and already posted somewhere just direct me that way.

Here's a deep dive on debuffs and how they work. Note that they are due for a change soon.

Here is a thread talking about upcoming changes to debuffs

And here is an amazing general tool / guide with interactive graphs that helps folks understand all of the above (except for the upcoming changes, those are obviously not in there yet)

I looked at the calculations and as I understand it, sum of works as multipliers just as base stat bonus. Provided that dark fire is unmitigated (and for simplicity let's assume the only debuff applied), the only 2 things that would change is the base stat which would go from 1+ (base-10/100) to 1+((base-2)-10/100) and the other multiplayer would go from 1 to 1.05, provided that the effectiveness of the debuff is 100% (is that true if I maintain 60% RI?)
to put this together (and set base stat to 30, and nothing else changes) it changes from 1.20 * 1.00 -> 1.18 * 1.05 which is 1.20 and 1.239 with the dark fire.
Is that correct?

Dark fire is a 5% capped debuff. Which means if you have already mitigated target DR (always true if you RI is 60%), and there are no other debuffs currently applied, then applying Dark fire will increase incoming damage by 5%.
If you already have other capped debuffs applied to the target, then Dark Fire will increase the capped debuff total additively +5%, to a maximum of 200%. If you already have 200% capped debuffs, Dark Fire provides no additional benefit.
Capped debuffs are multiplicative with other components of the damage formula, so they are independent of stat bonus, uncapped debuffs, weapon damage, level damage, and other damage bonuses. It's generally more confusing than helpful to try to look at several of these components at once (and that doesn't really give you a more accurate picture either). Examine each component in isolation.
As I'm reading your post over and over, I'm guessing you might be asking: what's the effect of losing 2 Attribute points in exchange for getting the Racial Trait Dark Fire. The short answer is: since Dark Fire is a capped debuff, it _strongly_ depends on how many capped debuffs you already have.
Those 2 Attribute points taking you from +18% to +20% are worth (1.2 - 1.18) / 1.18 = 0.01694915254 ~ 1.7% damage increase
On the other hand Dark Fire can be worth between 5% and 0% depending on how many capped debuffs are already applied.
If there are no other capped debuffs, then it's worth the full 5%.
(1.05 - 1) / 1 = 0.05 ~ 5% damage increase
If there are already some capped debuffs applied (let's say half cap ~100%)
(2.05 - 2) / 2 = 0.025 ~2.5% damage increase
If you've already reached the debuff cap with other powers / skills, then Dark Fire doesn't do you any good at all, meaning in that situation it's worth 0% damage increase.
