Problem: ArcRepair fails, says try again later...

Solution: If at first you don't succeed, try try again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again....... SUCCESS! Simple, right? Right? RIGHT? LOL!

SHORT: ARC install fails when updating, stops at downloading 58060 (out of 65k)



Hi all,

I haven't played in a few months. Launched Neverwinter, ARC tries to update, fails.

* I COMPLETELY uninstalled both Neverwinter and ARC
* reboot
* deleted ARC directory (c:\Program Files (x86)\Arc)
* reboot

Tried fresh install from Neverwinter website: http://www.arcgames.com

* download and run: Neverwinter_ArcSetup.exe
* installs fine, asks to run arc/start on boot/update info to developer all fine

Launch Arc

* says updating ARC, downloading, gets up to 58060 (out of 65k)
* ERROR: please try again later

I've tried several times now.

Any suggestions?

Windows 7
ASUS G73Jh laptop
i7 Q740 quadcore 1.73GHz
6GB RAM
576GB HD (313GB used, about half full/empty)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Series

Wired Ethernet directly to router (AT&T WorldNet Cable)

Here's a little more:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Arc

ArcRepair says "Please wait while Arc is being repaired..."

Error: Please try again later.

Okay, I'll try again later...

Ran ArcRepair again, this time, it worked! It only took 7 tries LOL maybe my lucky day?


Arc installed, logged in, now downloading Neverwinter...

I'll update this if/when that finishes....

Solved. Just had to run ArcRepair over and over again, eventually it worked.

just found site -can't play anything cause nothing will load . "play for free" shows neverwinter loading ,but won't open on screen - no "start button". gateway beta says i need to start with "character select" & has link for character select - clicking on it results in "error"& says to click on same link for character select ,which goes back to "error"& same link for character select ,etc . help ! i want to play SOMETHING !

You have to download the game and make a character before you go to the Gateway. If you go to http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter and click on "Play For Free" it will download the install file. You have to run that to get the game installed.
