UnderDark Campaign- pre fix

I would suggest that the 2nd boon in the underdark campaing be changed from a choice of either 400 crit or 400 lifesteal
to a choice of crit and any other useful stat- maybe armour pen, or recovery
-as the stat is no longer vaible for most if not all
Im sure that this concept was done before the changes were made to lifesteal
now that they have tho- could we start with an actual usable stat instead?
maybe change the Well of Dragons one and others as well while your at it too...

400 LifeSteal = +1% chance to trigger Life Steal action (some of which thanks to other boons could be huge). Which is quite a lot, given that at about 8-10% Life Steal, depending on your Class/At-Will choice you are going to get healed with Life Steal quite reliably. It's a matter of statistics, unlike some other stats which have diminishing returns, returns in Life Steal are the opposite - the impact of increasing Life Steal grows almost exponentially to some extent.

To show you some numbers, let say you have At-Will triggering 10 times while fighting some mob.
And the one Life Steal (with ICD every 80 s) applies Endless Consumption to steal x3 times more.
at 1% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.01)^20 = 9.6%
at 2% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.02)^20 = 18.3%
at 3% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.03)^20 = 26.3%
at 4% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.04)^20 =33.6%
at 5% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.05)^20 = 41.2%
at 6% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.06)^20 = 46.1%
at 7% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.07)^20 = 51.6%
at 8% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.08)^20 = 56.5%
at 9% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.09)^20 = 61.0%
at 10% LifeSteal it would have a chance of triggering 1 - (1-0.10)^20 = 65.1%
So at 1% without healing you would get killed while fighting a tough mob 9 out of 10 fights, at 2% it's 4 out of 5, at 3% 3 out of 4, at 4% 2 out of 3, ... at 10% it's 1 out of 3 fights. Adding just a few percent to Life Steal may be all what you need to start easily solo handling those tough mobs in IWD or WoD.

400 LS = 1%, so 10% would need 4k life steal. 20% would need 8k.

...on a side note: Whoever put, of all available stats, LS on the DC EE artifact main hand... ...nah.

Back on topic: There are way worse boon choices in this game, I wouldn't call it bad.

There other ways to get life steal besides the stat itself. The last tier for ToD has a 3% bonus to lifesteal, for example.

@tonecaponepatron 24,1% --> 3% ToD boon, 2,5% feat, 2% guild temple, rest 7k+ stat It won't fit a correct calculation, cause 1% is only ~400 points and you can only see one decimal place.

I didn't factor in all of those! Sounds good, I plan to get 20+ after x2 rp on the XBOX and hope to see a difference changing from deflect to LS for my PvP TR.

Just playing PvE with ma TR and i got an iounstone, so i can use both LS and Deflect. So it's 24% LS and 50%+ Deflect actually, lot of fun.

Sounds like fun! I don't PvE so I have zero companions.

well- I tried it, putting ALL runes toward lifesteal- and it doesn't proc often enough to refill me
-and Im squisy because I don't have any dedicated to defense or deflect with all of them at LS
-on a LS Warlock build (old one from last mod ) that used to be viable- now, not so much
-even with an ion stone
-but if people are still stacking it and think its valuable... then game on...nevermind

I do need lifesteal and deflect, can't live without one as a TR. Other classes got other options, GWF f.e. can use Unstoppable to gain temp TP. And i tried to play SW, i really tried. But he's so slow and it's so hard to survive (for me) cause he's so squishy and meh.. Doesn't made fun at all.

yep- they were viable before the lifesteal nerf...

-playing on my others now til they fix it- somehow
I see them in dungeon groups alot, and do well (my pally keeps them up)
but soloing just about any content- nearly impossible
maybe Ill "leach" off my guildies to get the better stuff- then see

so you have like 7K+ invested in LS- plus the boons to get to 24%
-your not using dark 12s are you??
-or is most of it in the set at purple??
