Improving the end of (multiplayer) missions the way that you still can gather your loot before leaving (no forced leave anymore) was a step into the right direction. But nothing beyond either ;)
Still it is not very entertaining running around the whole map after a completed mission doing nothing but gathering the loot left. Especially after Multiplayer missions or even more after multiplayer ordeals this is necessary because players will not always run and fight side by side. In order to reach gold rank you often even have to separate the group.
My suggestion is to change the loot system similar like Outriders from People can fly and Sqaure Enix does it. There you can define a key (default is the h key) to instantly pick up all loot still left on the map whole map no matter where you are right now. Moreover you can define in the options whether (default is active) all loot left shall be picked up due to map change/death/game quit etc.

Could also just make it so we don't have to run around to grab loot, anyway. It's instanced, so it could just automatically fly into our inventories. Much less busywork that way.
Would be fine for me, too ... whatever is less complicated for developers and/or takes less time to implement ;)
Is it just us feeling the need for improvement or is everyone else totally satisfied with the current loot collection mechanic/situation?
A way to collect loot without having to run all the map would be more confortable indeed, but I don't feel I really need it, specially when there are so many significant bugs still to be fixed. Also, something like that wouldn't feel right to me, I believe loot should be collected by going near it, not just magically appear in your inventory wherever you are.
From an immersion point of you, I can understand you! But especially after multiplayer Ordeals where players usually spread all over the map and fighting more or less on their own, I don't really enjoy searching the whole map for loot left in order not to miss a new rare/mythic peace of equipment or even one of these extremely rare Mods. At least in this case I personally favor quality of life over immersion.
I understand where this suggestion is coming from, but part of the enjoyment of an ARPG is picking up loot.
My only loot complaint is that you never get told what loot you get from spell pages (whether from battlepass or from using the daily at the spell book).
I agree with squirrelloid. Looting is part of the ARPG experience.
I 100% agree but quality of life is a big issue, too. For example until today I don't understand why in D3 gold is picked up by walking over/near it but crafting materials (which basically have no cap limited stash, too) have to be clicked one by one in order to collect them.
I have no idea how having to run around and pick up loot could ever be considered an enjoyable experience. Seems like yet another chore, to me. I guess there are some people who enjoy washing dishes, though, so to each their own. 🤷♂️
Personally, I'd love to cut out any unnecessary steps and just have loot fly out of corpses straight into my pocket. If you want something less silly for those far away kills, all the loot you missed could just be awarded at the end. That way you still have the option to run around hoovering everything up if you really want to. 😛
Would be a perfectly fine solution for me, too ;)
The enjoyment is twofold: 1. Seeing the loot gore all over the ground, 2. watching what you get while you hoover it up.
