Seed of hope wall wont go down/hedron removal bean broken

At the begining of the mission seed of hope. the second water wall won't go down or the hedron to make it go down doesn't work. I was on expert difficulty and died a couple of times to try and reset it, but it didn't fix it nor did killing all of the monsters in the area.
