  • What type of PvP are you planning to do? If you are intent on maxing your defensive stats, i.e. resistances, crit defense/dodge, defense, health, a marble protector could become stupidly hard to kill. And for that your build looks reasonable. However you won't be doing much for offense. And I feel like when it comes to a a…
  • For attributes to roll on gear, I prioritize Accuracy and Health. Of course if you don't PvP you won't need accuracy, so you can do one of Health, Attack, Mastery. Mastery gives you a % increase in your damage output -- roughly 1% damage for every 10 Mastery. Therefore Mastery is typically preferred over flat Attack, but…
  • Granted, you don't really *need* it since your healer will just compensate with more heals, usually without a problem, I just like the idea of passively helping with that and it's not like there's many other options to sink points into anyway.
  • Consider taking out Stone Skin -- Physical resist typically not that useful. Max source of recovery -- actually helps a lot, makes things easier for the healer. Other than that you're good. You can spread extra points around in faith of protection, whirlwinds blessing, and landslide/schism if you like, but none of those…
  • I am, in all honesty, dumbfounded as to how this has still not been fixed. It has been at least 3 months. This patch doesn't even work anymore. And no updates have been provided regarding what came out of it. I am one of the most patient people around but seriously, this is a level of bug where you should actually roll…
  • I believe it does NOT, it only increases your attack by some other factor which turns up disappointingly small.
  • Note about reflect aura: Doesn't work on bosses (I also think anything with immune to controlling effects) Affected by wrath. e.g. with starting wrath it does pretty **** damage to other players. 6% current hp is with aura lv2, lv1 is 5%.
  • Pretty much every class has some sort of party buff except sin/vampire, general idea of each class: Marksman: Crit chance/damage/accuracy (not sure about which trees for MM) Protector: Defense, auras (can only use one: + heal effect, damage reflect, + resistance (granite only for resistance)) Bards: Songs (can use many,…
  • I would take the accuracy over the miniscule crit damage Nyo's provides. However, the 35 rune energy skill is also different, I believe Dyos requires you to get hit and Nyos requires you to attack to activate it.
  • Health potions are more than enough to sustain a prot using retaliation aura. Our defense is so high that the mobs you need to farm for DOs hit for practically nothing.
  • What level were you at the time? I don't think the situation has changed much, I've personally never had a problem with being "kicked" from a party, although some of them don't look for prots.
  • It's not a very useful talent. The health regen is more or less insignificant, so mainly you have a chance to gain some mana when you are struck, which doesn't amount to much and your points are better spent elsewhere.
  • I'm speaking mainly from observation, when watching aggro wars on bosses it's typically between a dark vampire, assassin, or ele warrior with the aggro. I was actually thinking about full granite + 5 points in CS cooldown in marble in this case. I feel the resist debuffing + spammable Counter-Strike with bonus crit chance…
  • In what scenario are you going to PvP? The rocky cooldown is only relevant in cases where you're forced to fight when it's on cooldown. e.g. pvp arena, when you only have a few seconds between rounds. But even in the case of arena, you at least get to use it for one round. I would pull points from Earth Source / Extension…
  • I like the idea of your chart. Some things I don't agree with: Healing for Divine as 5 vs Glacial/Rebel as 4 is understating how much better Divine is for healing. Although the healing is more AOE oriented, I'd say a Light Bard is better than Glacial/Rebel at healing, and a Blood Vampire is just as good as a priest on…
  • It's definitely harder than before, in some cases the orbs are actually "floating" as well so you have to jump to get them. I've been noticing it less lately though; might be just because I've gotten used to it.
  • - Neither is *great* in survivability, but I think mages die more easily. - Mages will be better PvP but not as fire tree. Ice is really good, lightning is okay - I would take either into an instance, it's not a really significant difference. - Mage probably wins 1v1. - Marksman definitely cheaper to gear. - Don't know…
  • You aren't doing anything wrong, it's simply that people don't stay at low levels for very long, so queuing into low level instances is difficult. It's often easier to look for parties forming in guild or worldchat, or try to form your own in that manner.
  • IMO dheiland's was the best of the ones listed up there, only one that made me chuckle.
  • I don't completely disagree with you but just looking at threat: Abominable Will - 60% bonus threat Firepower Coverage - +100% threat from bonus damage Magma Burst -- +100% threat from Upheaval and Earth Rift Now, prot skills are pretty bad in terms of DPS, but these are some pretty ridiculous modifiers. Just looking at…
  • All I see is you blowing up for no reason. I'm on a PvE server and I wouldn't mind if there was something like 1 realm devoted to PvP, because it'd be incredibly easy to avoid if I didn't want to. What's the problem here? You don't lose anything, and people who are bored of straight PvE get something new to do. There isn't…
  • I think you have the wrong impression of adults xD On a workday I basically have time from about 7-8pm (depending on how seriously I'm taking dinner that day) until I sleep, but only if I want to do nothing else. There were very rare days with imminent deadlines where I wouldn't have much free time after class, but you…
  • I do believe it generates some amount of threat, I honestly have no idea how much though, or whether leveling up Taunt increases this amount. Other than threat, yeah it doesn't seem leveling Taunt really has any benefit.
  • Leveling up Counter Strike does this: + bonus damage + defense bonus + attack penalty At level 10 counterstrike, you get 100 bonus defense and 100 attack penalty, with bonus damage in the neighborhood of 3.3k if I remember correctly. I don't know the specifics for level 7/8.
  • You effectively have a monopoly. I'm not one to complain much about this, but the complaints aren't unwarranted. Your guild has created a large enough barrier to entry that it would take large amounts of farm/cashshopping/etc on the part of multiple people, enough that it will likely never happen especially since those…
  • I haven't ever had nearly as much trouble with a glacial as an ice mage. Glacial is something that screws you over if you leave it alone because of the constant draining, but once I'm on them I actually have an advantage. Glacials are basically helpless once you're in their face, they have no priest bubble and drop pretty…
  • I'd say a mage with gear level of about lv1 wings and ToK blue gear can hit 30k without much difficulty. I don't think that's asking for too much. At this point I think we're assuming everyone is PvP-specced, so the CC argument on mage is valid. As a prot, no one can keep me off of them longer than an ice mage, with the…
  • Your complaint is you lose wrath while invulnerable. Why don't we just take away your ice block, now you just die instead. Would you rather be alive with no wrath or dead? By the way, you get ice block, transform, and mana shield as class abilities (i.e. available without talents). Vampires have dark bond / feast, warriors…
  • Can't really compare Retal Aura to BoR, retal is always on while BoR only lasts a bit over 10 seconds (IIRC). hat's a better comparison is ABS (Absolute Counter Measure) to BoR. BoR still does way more damage, but ABS can stun attackers which is pretty useful at times.
  • I never once said anything about arena gear. Although it's entirely feasible to use 5 arena pieces then a 3 piece champion set, which will net you decent accuracy and still very high survivability. And the skills I mentioned -- everything is situational. Now drake skin is pretty bad to just randomly use, but when someone's…
