Attack Stat

Is the normal "+54 (number used as an example) Attack" any use to Vampires? I was told it was only useful for auto attack? Could someone just confirm/explain this.

    Attack increases damage for all oyur skills, for example my Hellfire Death has 130% attack (my attack stat) and 2265 bonus damage, so the attack would increase the damage of that skill, assuming my attack is 500(really low that), so 130% = 650 damage + 2265 bonus.
