I ganked my character's name from a Black Dahlia Murder song, and while they're one of my favorite bands, I'm a huge fan of:
Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn, Insomnium, Katatonia, Raintime, Be'Lakor, and Amorphis just to name a few.

I always tend to run into some elitist pricks from outside and within the metal circle, so hopefully this thread can be devoid of that, hah.

    Metal encompasses a very broad range of music, from melodic and symponic works to "raawr raawr I'm the Cookie Monster from hell grrrrwwaaaaaaa!"

    The only genres of metal I'm not a fan of are deathcore and the equally radio-popularized "hard rock" bands like Slipknot, A7X, and the like.

    I'd be curious to see what you're into since I've listened to and been a fan of a very large array of sub-genres like gothic, black, doom, industrial, progressive and melodic death.
