  • I voted for "other", only because I'm interested to see if the devs can pull off using a Nemesis as an OV. Otherwise, I'd probably select someone who's a bit different to the three currently available, maybe a munitions themed character like ASCII or a summoner like Mr Gemini.
  • They should have a buff on the Villains where if they get too close to another one they suffer a drop in damage output (or take more incoming damage). Getting face planted by three or four Gronds at the same time is not the makings of an entertaining evening.
  • I voted for the conversion option, only because I think it's weird to have to play as a villain to obtain powers as a hero.
  • That's a really good idea, JennymachX. Even if they consolidated the power sets used by the Villain / Nemesis you create to a selection of 'homages' - for example, you could say your Nemesis is like Grond, or Menton, or even Ironclad. You could select from the stable of Champions characters as a template ? Just…
  • I can't really fault any of your reasons for leaving. All the best. Hmm, come to think of it - New Years Resolutions are coming up, might be a good idea to give CO the flick myself. Lock boxes are what's annoying me the most.
  • I was able to complete the whole mission on a Celestial themed FF toon, however I still ran into the same bug in the final room, where all of my recruited buddies just stood there like stunned mullets while I got the snot beaten out of me. The PRIMUS soldiers did attack though. My Nemesis was/is might, the other three were…
  • Did Bunker Buster mission just now. EVERY SINGLE DROP was a Hover tank lockbox. Not impressed.
  • My commiserations, Mr C. That girl you were arguing with is crazy as a loon, if it's the one I'm thinking of whose name starts with D.
  • Good thread. Following closely.
  • Absolutely completely agree. They should have decoupled it from regular VB when FFA went live. Hell, make it level 40 only, I don't care, I just hate that horrid VB Apocalypse arc.
  • I have found that the lock boxes are dropping and other items are not. Originally the lock boxes were supposed to be in addition to existing loot, but I have not seen a single lockbox + additional item (apart from a recognition currency) in the last couple of weeks. A benchmark would be the first Nemesis mission which you…
  • Game manual states on page 11: In-game you lose two stars for the first defeat but one for each successive defeat.
  • There's a lot of bugs that really need addressing before I'd vote for Champions in such an online poll. Quick examples: Numerous typographic errors in mission dialogues and selection boxes. Game manual says you lose one star per defeat, but in-game you lose two for the first and one for each subsequent defeat. Drop rate on…
  • Sinistro1978 has hit the nail on the head, I believe.
  • Hulk did it well, but Doc Manhattan was a lot more... elegant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uXkRVWKXg8 (about 14 secs in to the clip)
  • Hey, when did November get a 31st?
  • If they treated it the same way that World of ******** treats smelting ore - you just load up your bags, select what you want to produce, click go and then get yourself a cup of coffee while the game chuffs away. While on this subject - at 400 skill and selecting only the appropriate school mod (e.g. Presence Armouring on…
  • The "Favour of the Champions" XP device is not bound to a single player any more. Now it is indeed a favour.
  • I've got something like 140 of them sitting in my hideout storage cupboard. I've been deleting any new boxes I get, because I know that I don't want what's in them, and like the OP, I despise the gambling aspect of it all. If Cryptic offered the actual mods in packs for the same price as a key, I'm sure people would be…
  • I just completed it using one of those hoverdisc things on the carrier. It just reminded me of Green Goblin. Except for the Gatling Gun and other miscellaneous shootin' irons.
  • It really makes little difference if you're talking 2 or 3 salvage to 1 dollar. You'd still have to buy two blocks of 5,000 zen, which are 50 bucks each. To spend 100 dollars on this? Pass. EDIT: I know if you went under the assumption of 3:1 salvage to key ratio you'd need 6700 zen, and so could get a 5,000 and a 2,000 to…
  • Drifter Salvage to buy these vehicles?... A way of consolidating all our currencies to one pool (I'm referring mostly to Questionite and Drifter Salvage here, not Reputation such as MCPD or Primus merits) would be handy. Speaking for myself, I have several characters with 30-50 Drifter salvage each from opening those lucky…
  • Bugged for me yesterday with a Fire based Nemesis. Trying again today. Will edit in results below. EDIT Worked ok second time through.
  • That's a great quote right there, and it sums up a lot of the perceived direction that the game is heading. Short bursts, quick instant gratification and not a lot of depth. I confess, until PWE throw some serious resources at development I really don't see CO getting the shot in the arm it deserves. It's so close to being…
  • Huh. Yeah I found that out over the weekend. In other news, I'm now the proud owner of a level 22 Coward's Lament, courtesy of Shadowboxer. *sigh*
  • Getting hit three times in quick succession in a Gravitar alert is not fun at all. I'd love to see a three stage alert vs. Ripper. It would be set in a blocked off street, and he would progressively move down the street, flinging cars and various other bits of scenery at you. At each 1/3 health mark, he'd have some larger…
  • Those things aren't bound until you equip them, so what's the problem? Just mail it or use your hideout bank to transfer it to the toon you wanted it on.
  • It's so big! I'm down here on the other side of the world, and I thought TC Yasi which hit Queensland last year was large, but Sandy is a monster. Stay safe, you guys.
  • I had to look up those other two references, Jonsills (I'm not a fan of Japanese art / manga). Have a look at the GW store page for Battlefleet Gothic / Imperial Navy sub-section. Link here: BF Gothic I'm just saying that GW have shown themselves to be very agressive in protecting their intellectual property, so I hope…
  • I hope you're careful with knocking off the Games Workshop look-and-feel. Those guys employ more lawyers than sculptors and artists for their miniatures :\
  • 1. Nemesis system overhaul (New missions, update the powersets, tweak the minions, add a couple more personality types etc). 2. UI / responsiveness overhaul 3. A moratorium on additional new content until the bulk of bugs are ironed out. Polish this game until it GLOWS! After that, then there's a solid base for new stuff.…
  • Is there any correlation between the stuff which is in the Lockbox and the level of the character that opens them? The Team-XP boost should be tradeable or account based as it is useless on a level 40.
  • Your cynicism will serve you well, Caycepollard. The Catalysts would be fair at their existing prices IF they were rank 1 to whatever rank catalyst you bought. I wonder if a guaranteed Harmon catalyst is on the cards? Chaelk, Arms skillups were working in MC and Canada when I checked last week. I wonder if further down the…
  • One of my characters uses Gatling Gun and Chainsaw with great gusto. I elected to take the Ripsaw advantage on the Chainsaw instead of Rank 3 (it deals increased damage against opponents who have less than 30% health). His powers generally come from the Munitions tree. That being said, the Chainsaw really is an energy…
  • Not. Bloody. Likely. Seriously you would necro a thread just for a personal jab at me? Sad.
  • I quite like Goblin. He does pretty well for a dead fella with only one arm.
  • Well well well. SithKiller360. You're back. At least you're not typing with random capital letters like last year. Keep it that way and all will be well.
  • Why are you proceeding down this route? While vehicles have a part to play in comic lore, surely other aspects would be more worthy of the development time which is being spent here. The Nemesis system is screaming out for an in-depth review. How about a proper sidekick system, along with a nudge of the level cap from 40…
  • Yes, all the comments so far make sense and are well-reasoned and sensible additions to this thread. If after reading this thread we've been able to get people to have a think about improving their efficiency (energy management) which in turn has a bearing on their gearing and mod selection, then that's a good thing.
  • Second run, two crashes, by load time the last of 6 destroids had fallen and even though I was in the leaderboard, no reward to collect. Hopefully this can be rectified quick smart.
  • Instant crash to desktop here as well. What does the T in PTS stand for again?
  • Apparently the edible (sort of) spam is pretty popular in Hawaii. But I saw those inedible soccer spam messages yesterday and thought a report / ignore button has been a long time coming.
  • Have to hook you up with Mack the Knife, he's a mummy. He's also blue, so that makes him quite rare. Like steak I guess. Mmm. Hungry.
  • Yes, I'll /sign that. My character Wellington Skellington relies on trench coats and zombie legs to give the illusion of a skeleton, but the arms just aren't very convincing.
  • I'd suggest that the reason why not is to stop level 6 characters with this gear having slotted rank 6/7 cores in their already excellent gear. Consider rank 6, fairly simple to obtain once you have a 40 or two: Gambler's Lucky Gem 6 = 90 Critical Strike, 133 Dodge Chance, 88 Cost Discount Impact Prism 6 = 64 Offense, 18…
  • In addition to the +3%XP gain you get from each of the pieces of gear, if you wear all three, you have a buff called Heirloom Empowerment (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm tired). It provides you with a small energy and health return while you are in combat. It's great! The Heirloom Empowerment buff does not work in alerts…
  • No worries Patrician Vetinari. *thinks* I was in a Smash alert with you the other day. Dockside Dustup. I believe you mentioned something about knocks being bad. Probably my guy using a shotgun to break a generic nemesis' lifedrain / suck thing they do :P
