  • Everyone takes breaks from time to time, and you've got some good reasons for it (grats on the marriage! :O ). o7 Just don't stop being awesome.
  • I'm going to have to likewise conclude that thematically speaking, the Boomerang (et. all) powers have a better fit within the Gadgeteering set, moreso then they do the Archery set. From what it sounds like, you're just coming up with thematic reasons to cover a mechanical want/desire (based on earlier bits of this…
  • Regardless, my average was still in the 16.8k range, and that's pretty high given my level at the time.
  • Sneak/Shadow Strike are doing a bit better in my limited testing so far. At least for regular content re: level 25. I'll have to do more testing later on to see if it stays consistent, but for now, I'm happy with the usability. Not so sure about the damage, though. 17k non-crit at L25 seems banaynays.
  • o7 Take it easy out there, mang. EDIT: Geez. That reads almost callous. I just never know what to say in these things. I mean, on the one hand, you're a good dude and seeing you move on to other stuff sort of sucks on a personal level, but if it makes you happy in the end (and you can always come back to visit if you…
  • Cointoss between Smoke Grenade or Frag Grenade. ...Combat Engineers are the main source of my rage in this game. One I could tolerate, but spamming both is a wee bit excessive. :U
  • They didn't really remove it, it's just clearly not hooked up properly. If it were removed, there wouldn't be a workaround.
  • Is... it wrong that my biggest issue with the NW AT right now is that I had a build like that before and now I'm gonna be a bit less unique when I bring it back to Live? I'm such a hipster. ;_; Ah well. I'll try and get some testing done, but it's dependent on not horking at the moment. A lot of the Stealth/Shadow Strike…
  • If it took just one act of poor behavior to diminish one's reputation regardless of other outstanding factors, I'd be so far in the hole it's not even funny. :U
  • Or maybe a 'UNITY Local Command' style thing? Just a little area with that sort of thing, maybe about as large as the giant dias Defender and friends stand on in RenCen? Then again, I like this idea, too. Uploading mission completion data via PDA!
  • I'd be on board with getting the UNTIL missions looked at and made more cohesive, in addition to UNITY2 being made a bit more accessible (I'm not sure having a Trismegistus Mage in the UNITY building would make a lot of sense, though; That's the main thing you're dealing with UNITY2 in Vibora, as opposed to UNITY itself,…
  • Ding. Short version in the link, read the newspost attached to get a better idea. I make no claims about the work-safeness of Gutters, though I made sure that at least the comic linked was fine. Just, yanno, be careful browsing. Do so at your own risk, etc.
  • Ah - I admittedly skimmed most of that one. ob It sounds like the only thing that's mostly accurate for Baron Cimetiere is the suit (though his is pretty torn up) and the accent...
  • On the one hand, I can agree with the idea that going forward, Cryptic and CO should avoid some of the more offensive, blatant forms of stereotyping (Hi Pan in the intro-series of Westside, Baron Cimitiere, and so on) going forward. On the other, I'm not really ever going to agree with changing things that have been in the…
  • Why should a character that's been in the IP since the 1980's have to change his ethnicity for you to feel 'good' about it? EDIT: Case examples - Nick Fury and Ultimate Spider-man. Examine the responses when the changes were introduced (for different reasons, I might add, then diversity). Both also did so by introducing…
  • Because when people that fit the description are pointed out, you stated they didn't matter because while African, they weren't African-American, and that's what you 'really' meant in the opening post. EDIT: Clarification - some mild paraphrasing went on, but I am assuming nothing that was not explicitly stated in this…
  • Oh man, poor Trailturtle. ;_; I wouldn't wish that on anyone! (P.S.: Sorry that we're all terrible people.) (DISCLAIMER: This post is entirely facetious.)
  • That's one slippery slope, mang.
  • This one makes my head hurt a little... You want more representation of a very specific subset of a wider ethnic group? Why are we being that anal retentive about the whole thing? Sincere question.
  • :( I miss the hotline. It came in so handy for things like this.
  • ... D: Oh, the horrible things that went through my head on that one... (SIDENOTE: The best comedians don't play the same old boring, fixed routines, they play to the audience. Waka waka~.)
  • On the short list of things I've already tried and/or considered... Force - It'd almost have to be a Cascade build, and that's not something I want to do while leveling. Not ruling it out, though - I just hate low-level Force. Ice - See above, except replace 'Cascade' with 'Avalanche'. I like Ice better then I do Force,…
  • I think they should probably make it work as intended... But not until they can add an additional option to it to keep this functionality in, because that'd be a shame to lose. It really is a neat bug and should totally be a feature for that piece (and maybe a few others). So, like. No rush guys. No sense fixing it just…
  • Big one right there. The people that run tabletop games have two huge advantages working for them that computer games just cannot replicate, period, end of sentence. Imagination and on-the-fly innovation. If a player in a tabletop game comes up with something unexpected, a GM can just use their imagination to innovate a…
  • Well, I more meant a dev-supported one where they, yanno. Actually ask for some help on it. IIRC, there's been one or two player-made threads on it and still no real discussion*. Whatever they're doing to investigate it clearly isn't working, as it's still happening. I'm unaffected, but I can definately see where this is…
  • Isn't it a bit early to assume that the 'regular' version no longer exists, given it's a) the return of the event (which makes sense that Takofanes himself would be showing up) and b) really close to the 20th anniversary of the event it commemorates in the first place? While still a possibility, there's at least some…
  • Man, I can relate to that. I'm a mess without the internet. D: The only thing I can think.. of.. that's worse... ...oh. Yeah, can we have some more discussion of this sort of thing, please? Maybe a special, dedicated thread for it? It's a bit worrisome that some people can't even test this stuff, and it has the nagging…
  • Only really have two questions at the top of my list... 1) Can we get an update on the framework review system? I know I ask this (or some variant) each time you guys do this, but I really am curious about what kind of review and balancing material is in at least the macro-view for powers. Specifically, as review quality…
  • Eh... I'd be fine with some of the more obnoxious ones becoming account wide (any iteration on 'kill X mobs' where 'x' is a ridiculous and tediously high number), but some of the others are good ways to meter individual accomplishment across characters (a lot of the Defeat Supervillain or event participation ones). Some of…
  • Pretty much this. Realistically, anything over 200 for your 'primary' pair of stats (consisting of your Primary Superstat and the Exceptional of your choice) and at least ~150 of the second Exceptional is a good place to be. Anything after that is mostly filling in for taste. Some builds do better with higher numbers, but…
  • That. That right there. Second only to Hostess Fruit Pies in my list of 'do want' for the game. :(
  • Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm still pretty pissed off about the whole thing myself, the difference is... I got out all of that when the contest ended, and let go of the matter because there wasn't a lot else I could say at that point that other people weren't already. Letting go in no way, shape, or form implies forgiveness…
  • I disagree - I don't think holding onto an issue in light of long-term facts on the subject is exactly healthy. It encourages a lack of objectivity about the situation, and encourages a sour attitude to other things that may only be tangentially related. I also don't see much of a point in complaining about something just…
  • I've got an issue here, and that's the way the verb tense here is. This thread continues to point out people are still outraged about this in some capacity, and are still willing to continue to argue about it. Cryptic has made it somewhat clear that they're sticking to the decision in the face of this, and I'm not sure why…
  • I'm less worried about Master Villains being knock_OK, then I am about a lot of Alert super-villains still being knock_OK despite the fact that they probably shouldn't be. Other than that, some of the suggestions here are also things to consider.
  • Welp, Thundrax seemed to be pretty accurate with his prediction. We'll see what the rest of the year holds, I suppose.
  • Safe bet, throwing my no-moneys here, too.
  • Dialogue fixes =/= code fixes, guys. EDIT: Only code fix I could see was just making sure a mob-group was using the right power table. :U Not exactly intensive stuff here, at all.
  • Read through the entire thing and honestly, I don't have any real complaints. A lot of it is just tuning issues and less the system itself as presented (like, would Skeletons have a chance of having special bonuses you can't get on other gear like the Silver Champs +Avoidance piece? And similar combinations). But that's…
  • A lot of it looks like just dialogue cleanup, too. While appreciated, well... :/ Guess we just hope the next patch does better. And that we get some better patch notes. I think these are the worst ever in terms of overall quality. Is there some kind of patchnote limbo contest we're unaware of that's responsible for the bar…
  • From what I can tell, Ground Smash (Bear Manimal ability) is just Havoc Stomp with an animation swap and no stun component (though I'm not sure - I had Block up the entire time). Spent some time getting beat on one to find out the effect/ability name. Sonic Screech (Bird Manimal) is also just a reskin (Crushing Wave) with…
  • To be fair, it's only an issue in Alerts. In regular content, and as long as you're not sidekicked, you should be fine. Lower-leveled characters also get a boost when sidekicked up (and it may be just as wonky then, haven't heard much discussion on how much of an exact boost is given) to try and find a 'medium'.…
  • Ridiculously inconsistent sidekicking measures. You experience a significant dropoff just for being over level 30 (something around the 30-40% range has been reported) by one level. In spite of the fact that stat gain/etc. is unlikely to have changed that much. It's more then a little silly.
  • ...the sad thing is, I'd believe it, too!
  • I agree that CO is deserving of more advertising then it's getting, but Star Trek is also a hotter/more visible property. Fixing it'll cost money, and I dunno, I think maybe we should sweep up (to use a metaphor) a bit before we start trying to pull people back in. Though I won't argue if they decide to do so anyway.
  • Could be worse. Could be the STO development team. ...do not get me started. Suffice to say they make me rage harder then anything else, these days. Somehow I don't think getting more attention from on-high in Cryptic is a good thing, if that's the kind of stuff they let happen...
  • :( I feel bad for laughing at that one. Speculating as to why doesn't make it feel any better, either!
