The impression I got from other posts was it was to with the main RAM and not the video card memory. If its video card related more likely a roll-back or update of drivers is required wouldn't be the first time CO has had issues with some drivers.

Ok things to look at. In the steam library right click the champions entry and go properties and make sure the "Enable the steam overlay while in-game" option is ticked

Have you tried launching the game via steam. By this I mean, Launch steam so you get the steam store front go into the library then find champions and hit play. Could be that Arc changed the short cut so it was no longer launching through steam. Also I've had zero problems purchasing Zen through steam.

If you were doing it in Hi-Pan I wouldn't be overly bothered as it dose not have a lock out mechanic that stops you getting into the fight once its begun.
