So the character this build is for isn't 40 just yet, currently 37, and using armadillo primary gear and samurai secondary, mostly cause thats what I had on hand, would heirloom sets be better? My current build could certainly use work, I didn't list talents cause I probably didn't pick any I should have. (Unnamed Build) -…
One of the reasons I wanted to make a dark form MA build is the chance for life drain on every hit, and the minor stealthiness, and also thematic. Would FoTM and chi manipulation work with that?
Defiance and power armor, you start off with weak damage resistance and cant blow and attack with any efficiency. You only have challenge on powers that can't be used directly after blocking. You also have no Specilizations that help with threat. You will have issues with threat. I would get rid of blinding light and take…
Your build looks like it should work fine, I have one very close, provided you dont have energy issue without an energy related super stat, should be easy even if you dont have good gear for it.
My intent is to be able to tank things like the colossus event thing going on, and, maybe TA, not sure how that ranks on hard/end game capable. I want to have the DPS passive for when me tanking isn't needed, or for easier content like alerts. I was thinking STR primary for the ability to not get knocked all over the…
For MA I was thinking mostly punching type stuff, like burning chi fist, or dragon uppercut, or hundred fists or whatever its called. It seems like early power selection is important and IMO very hard to combine these two.
So, still having trouble getting a build I like. Anyone have advice on MA/Elec specificly? I can't figure out which attacks to use from both to make a good combo, I have already some gear for STR/con/int so hopefully something like that can work.
Yeah, sure, it would be a copyright infringement if I said my sg was "Torchwood", based in Cardiff, and named my character Captain Jack, or something. Is it illegal to make a character named Elvis? If so, what about an Elvis impersonator, or, how about a sg, thats a school for Elvis impersonating. Copyright infringement is…
I would pick either Quarry or Night Warrior, Night Warrior is thematicly appropriate, and it also lets you walk through quests and one shot the boss, win!
I agree with most of what oniganon said, but personaly I would go with athletics, and swinging, and I would want to fit grenade or something in there to represent the bomb, Link wouldn't get anywhere without those.
Torchwood: outside the government, beyond the police. Tracking down alien life on Earth, arming the human race against the future. The twenty-first century is when everything changes. And you've got to be ready. ((If you're a fan of Torchwood, or Doctor Who, or both, this may just be the SG for you. Torchwood Academy…
It may sound boring to "spam" the same 3 attacks but you have to keep in mind, the more attacks you have the thinner you spread your advantage points. Having a few rank 3 attacks is much more effective than having a fist full of rank 1 or 2 attacks.
Have you heard the term "it's all gravy"? I think end mastery is supposed to be like the nice topping on something already good. Tanking as an example, 3% plus energy return from defiance plus energy from a form, and then not having any energy unlock tailored to tanking sets isn't all that bad. Although, on that note,…
IF, your primary/most used attacks are maintain, then overdrive is good. Also, wind reverb should give you VERY high chance of going off with an AoE maintain that pushes/pulls everything, it can also be triggerd by the wind block, which has repel on it. Another thing to note, if you like END as a possible primary, keep in…
So, I've been messing about with wind for tanking, not turning out to be my cup of tea, so, I'm going to again attempt to come up with a build that fits my taste. I see the "Miss Infinity" build seems popular, at least according to the forums, but after finding the "Sho Nuff" build, that seems much closer to what I'm…
Strength and enrage are indeed specialized for melee, however, even in a ranged build that would be just as good as a martial arts form, especially with ranged powers that have knock right? Also, might just works better with high str. On my ego blader I get knocked all over, on a tank, that really doesn't work out too…
Fire used to rely heavily on presence before, not sure how true that is anymore, and that made it popular to mix with healing, which also benefits largely from presence. These days I think you can get the highest combination of healing from paranormal damage of any kind and seraphim passive, its as close as you can get to…
I would suggest trying your build out in the powerhouse on test server, then possibly do some unity missions there or something, you may find you don't like how some of the pets you have chosen perform.
PvE play is mostly what I do as well, though mostly either solo leveling or lvl 40 stuff with a team. If you really feel like you want to be a turret, and like magic, then arcane circle probably will be somewhat useful, though you may want to consider primal, as getting knocked around is pretty painful if you wanna sit…
What other ice powers you choose would depend on whether or not you want to bother with the power shatter, which works off of the chill effect, so, for area effect, without ice form you would be relying on an attack or the block from ice to get them chilled, or, you could pick a wind power that can chill, but that usually…
If you are going to focus on melee, IMO way of the warrior would be a far superior passive, in fact, unless you use the stealth portion of night warrior to good effect, way of the warrior gives more damage/dodge/avoidance as far as I know. It is however, an interesting concept, to use quarry for melee.
Most passives will work with any stats, its things like forms and energy unlocks that depend more on stats now. I would actually, suggest switching your super stats at lvl 32 you should easily be able to replace old gear with newer better gear with correct stats from missions, or from recognition vendors. For ranged DPS, I…
Anyone who says ego is not important to a range dps of any kind is giving bad advice. Ego is THE stat that boosts ranged damage, if you take mentalist melee attacks, it replaces STR as the damage boosting stat. You may want to reconsider regen, it is better than it used to be, in that it has damage resistance, but that…
As others have suggested, ego powers would go VERY nicely with celestial especially with seraphim. Which also gives you access to lots of melee choices, while still getting full damage bonus from EGO instead of needing STR. In other words, with ego blades as a melee choice, you can simply use EGO as your primary super…
I actually wasn't really thinking of user style character, more... like an escaped/exiled/whatever system monitor or something. Thats why I was thinking dex based, probably martial arts or something, I don't imagine we will get weapon customization for boomerang anytime soon, I still think I'll have to do some testing on…
If you are mostly using darkness attacks, and the ONLY sneak attack power you plan to use is the free one from night warrior you should probably reconsider your build plan as it will be rather sub-optimal. If you mainly want to be dark and/or sneaky, shadow form gives some stealth (dex supposedly effects stealth strength)…
Overall it looks like a pretty solid build for team play. For soloing, it might be kind of slow at the earlier levels, only reason I say that is, no power to kill groups of henchmen etc. from stealth. But like I said, for team play, should be solid, evasive manuevers will definately help you get multiple assassin strikes…
No, I highly recomend parry w/ elusive monk, night warrior doesn't give a ton of dodge/avoidance, if you are melee, pary w/ advantage is VERY good for survivability. Its not until you start hitting soft caps that you would want to consider something like energy shield w/ laser knight advantage, in other words very high…
With night warrior as a passive, I would recommend replacing fury of the dragon with throwing blades, you would probably get more use from it, and end up doing more damage in the long run. The only stealth attack that... stealth comes with is quite a hefty recharge, so its also good to have more than one power that hits…
I would suggest picking up ricochet shot, and/or throwing blades, from stealth, ricochet shot can kill entire groups of henchmen, sometimes villains or higher with crits or whatnot, throwing blades can clear an entire room from stealth if used correctly, honestly, I only use assassin strike on supervillains, which it…
Celestial can be a really powerful set by itself, but thats considering its built in combos and power interactions. Myself, the only power I really use from celestial is seraphim, and the energy builder, for damage I use TK assault (ranged maintain, single target, minor AoE if you advantage it), skarns bane for AoE/debuff,…
As far as passive energy unlock goes, for a healer, I almost always use overdrive now, if you do any charged or maintained heals, it triggers nicely, if you do any attacks that are charge or maintain, it triggers nicely, and you only need half a maintain/charge for it to trigger, with MSA you will have to constantly use…
Seraphim boosts your healing a ton, sentinel spec tree offers great healing, seraphim offers a tiny bit of healing aura as well, also you can get the advantage to make it do that much damage as well instead of rank 3. Keep in mind if you are using presence mastery (if you are taking healing seriously I would assume so)…
For a passive, from a straight healing perspective, seraphim is far superior to medical nanites. Believe it or not, with Pres primary (the best for healing) and str/con secondary, with compassion you will most likely not ever have energy issues especially in support role, with my current healer, even in tank role, energy…
I think it should be rather easy to pull off, I had a build very similair that I retired, a space marine librarian was my idea, but I get bored easy. Anyhow, there are two ways to make it work the easiest, one would be setting up multiple builds so you can run around beating on stuff when you feel like it, and then hit…
