  • My personal suspicion is that it's a combination of things. A: traffic volume, IE running four games through one sever is too much traffic. B: exception handling for items from other games. It's a lot easier to make the server work when you don't have to code it to display things from OTHER games.
  • Yeah I often change games because of people talking cross-game. It's useful for coordination purposes.
  • Harmon stayed up normally, it's Red Banner that didn't come in.
  • Well, I wonder if it's due to what happens when items get linked? Like jonsills said about vehicles, adding vehicles to CO crashed chat game wide in STO. Adding a third game didn't ruin things, adding a fourth? Also there's the question about numbers. how much server is needed to actually host all of that?
  • That or re-costume sidekicks? well, the humanoid ones anyways...
  • well the playable areas of VB in CO is only the small core area, maybe the supervillains don't bother with the rest because it's less interesting to them?
  • so I guess that means that the urban sprawl of Vibora is so great that Vibora is also around 10 miles long?
  • GOOD! at least it's a bigger pile of spaghetti than last year. :p
  • The same thing happened with the trinkets from Nightmare invasion a while back...
  • Tacofangs said that it'd take months just to build a database of assets to use.
  • OOH use the mission script from soul siphon but re-theme is as villains trying to steal nukes from the wrecked submarine? Or the bank robbery script but with a submerged ruin having artifacts plundered?
  • Also check the size on this map. San Sebastien Swamp is as big as Vibora City. https://twitter.com/marhawkman/status/1233822309439463427
  • I think someone asked Kais about this and she basically said that it'd need to have the animations reprogrammed.... or something. Apparently it's hard and complicated.
  • And the picture has Cairngorn Stoneblood's name on it.
  • That reminds me the guy in the twitch video talked about spells to heal your creatures. There's probably buffs too.
  • I think the idea is that having multiples would be redundant. Most cards in the CCG are set at 4 per deck. Minimum deck size is 60, but somewhere around 1/3 of those are lands. So... 40-ish non lands, if they're all 4-ofs, then that's only 10 separate cards in the deck. Obviously most decks DON'T have 4 of everything, but…
  • In the one I posted the guy said that, yes, summons persist until killed. He also mentioned you can't have duplicate summons out. He didn't outright say it, but the way he talked made it seem like you only had one "card" for each summon in your deck, so maybe the reason decks are 12 cards is because all cards are…
  • At launch you will only be able to do one or two colors in your deck. (support for more than 2 might come later) You can use whatever colors you have cards for. Your character class determines that base stats for your character. This means it changes the stats for spells. We don't have specifics but he seemed to indicate…
  • Delicious delicious datas….. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/555691632 Soo... character classes are totally a thing, but they're NOT linked to color, instead they're linked to playstyle.
  • I think they will occasionally use themselves when you login. But yeah not really good for anything even then
  • Enh, I heard the reason is because of players treating it as a promise that X will happen. Thus the devs aren't gonna announce things that they aren't 100% certain will happen. So Kais can't really tell us more than the boringly obvious stuff unless it's something that is almost ready to go live.
  • If we could have a social zone inside the domes that'd be cool. :D
  • heard about that on the STO forum, I think the issue is that the initial login via steam just didn't access your account data properly.
  • We actually can see working habitats in CO. Yes they're a lot smaller than a proper dome city, but they seem to be meant to be dome cities. https://twitter.com/marhawkman/status/1231074676597755906
  • Ok, so you installed Arc, used Arc to install CO, then tried to run CO via Arc?
  • *pokes ghost sharks with stick* We've seen it!!!
  • Yeah that description makes it sound like an OS issue. IE the OS is refusing to start the game for some reason.
  • I dunno, loads of the magic abilities would work with a wand/staff as an emanation point. Of course setting a power to use that sort of emanation point might be hard though....
  • Are we sure it's not Talisman dressed as Witchcraft?
  • Maybe it's like DC's Skartaris? It's actually a different plane altogether(thought not a parallel universe) that can be accessed via naturally occurring portals. It's "subterranean" in that all the naturally occurring portals are underground somewhere.
  • Well, two things are made clear about that in Nightmare Invasion. The power of the Kings of Edom is not something that can be destroyed by mortals. However the entities who were being referred to were mortal beings channeling their power. That's about all I got out of that cutscene though. Well, also the Kings of Edom are…
  • Now that you mention it... A few years ago I did a panorama of MC. I was rummaging in my saved files and noticed it a few days ago. https://twitter.com/marhawkman/status/1227139283586338816 https://twitter.com/marhawkman/status/1227139357183795200
  • I have highly varied activity. I might do cosmics, or lairs... sometimes if someone asks for teams I maight even swap from STO to CO if I'm not busy in STO.
  • I personally like using Haymaker to play golf with enemies, but It's easy to understand why people wouldn't want a full set of attacks that do that exact effect.
  • How much is actually said about "Uncaped"? O_o'
  • As someone who's studied the map in ways Tacofangs never wanted it to be studied.... Millennium City has cars, boats, and various aircraft. The north edge of the map s actually a raised highway... albeit an odd sort that has a raised platform under it and not an over pass.... despite being taller than most buildings in…
  • Some of the names used for them make the ones seen in CO seem like they might be creations. https://twitter.com/marhawkman/status/1156323923912474624 Like this one is named "Spirit of Corruption" IIRC. BUT, she works for Tilingkoot, not directly for Kigatilik.
  • Another interesting impression I've gotten from CO is that DEMON isn't nihilists. Most of them just want power, and their methodology has them getting it from Qlipthoth. But they don't really want to fuse Earth with Qlipthoth any more than they want to get killed.
  • Well the array of options player have for playing blue in MTG has always been wider than what players actually USE :p You can make a blue deck that summons birds and sea monsters.... Most DON't though
  • So? You CAN if you want to. We don't have enough a very long section of combat. The demo never had a reason to look up.
  • By "default" I mean the one the game uses until you change it... also the one the console command to reset to default uses.
  • "Camera modes"? The gameplay demo video is using the same camera angle that is the default camera angle in CO. Also we've seen that the terrain in the game isn't flat. So you actually have a reason to be able to look up. Diablo games DON'T do that at all ever.
  • Ok, if you have that little faith in your assumptions, why do you defend them? You said it yourself, there is no reason to believe Cryptic made a fully new game engine. What reason is there to change the game camera system? And no, "click to target the ground" doesn't work as an explanation. I've seen no reason to believe…
  • Actually I spent hundreds of hours playing Diablo games. I even used to be a modder for D2X on the Phrozenkeep. This just doesn't look like Diablo to me. It's NOT an isometric game though. D2 was isometric. It had simulated 3d that only worked because the camera couldn't move. It created the illusion of 3d graphics by…
  • You mean Nicol Bolas? Pretty sure he's gonna be one of the bad guys you fight in the game. Not sure if there will be race options, so it's impossible to say if dragons will even be playable. So far all we've seen as player characters appear to be humans.
  • Neverwinter has a lot of character customization. It's the starting options that are boring.
  • The tiny bit on the website about that suggested that you'll have a starter deck of whatever color you choose to start as, and the ability to grind to earn more cards.... or buy from the Z-store, depending on if you feel like spending. Knowing Cryptic there's gonna be character customization, but we don't have data on that…
  • You don't PLAY as a Griffin, you SUMMON a Griffin to help you kill things. :p MtG decks use a wide variety of strategies. "Mono-Red burn" tries to incinerate/electrocute/crush with rocks all your enemies. Blue decks and white decks often have effects to prevent foes from attacking, sometimes green too. Black and white have…
  • My impression from the videos is that it's a mildly modified version of the engine used for CO, STO, and NW. The main change seems to be using an MMO-ified version of the MtG deckbuilding system instead of a traditional RPG skill tree.
