  • If not devs, then blame is likely going to the management. When writing code there are some guidelines for future maintainance so if the original coder is gone it won't be too dificult for other devs to understand old code. At this point it would probably trace back to ATARI times.
  • Thanks for so detailed analisys. I think CoPD could still be useful for certain fights. I like your point about TK lance, I exchanged Mental Discipline for Concentration so I freed 4 adv, and I exchanged SoD for TK lance with rank 3(not sure about the infusion adv). I took off the rank 3 of miniDrive for recip Gizmo for…
  • From the time vehicles were announced I thought it has to be like happen in STO, ship battles are ship battles, ground battles are ground battles. At some point in the development, the idea of having mixed fights mainly because some people rejected vehicles has finally starting biting CN back and it will continue doing it…
  • An mmo without solid updates lead to poor player retention over time. Like I said sometimes about CO too much dress up but not many parties to attend. In DCUO you are a newborn hero so you are expected to train with members of the Justice league in missions. The relation with JL main heroes is not that different that the…
  • Indeed, I still like more CO combat over DCUO but it is a matter of opinion. Regardless of the technical details, DCUO and MH are better than CO since they are getting frequent updates and advertisement and CO is not.
  • I guess I am missing something: The memory dump contained(in this order): kappa rho sigma beta mu tau sigma My options presented to overwrite the code: first: delta tau sigma second: alpha zeta omega third: lambda omicron tau fourth: beta gamma epsilon In the second set of options there is no letter from the memory dump.…
  • I think you are restricting yourself too much in terms of ways of gearing. On one hand, you would need rampages for obtaining your primaries and at the same time getting Qs, which is not too bad. On the secondaries, you can get first armadillo/cyber/samurai secondaries for 11k Q a piece. You can sell zen for Q, the rate is…
  • I agree with the need of a miniboss at the end of each patient. For part 1: cooling should be aoe or make civilians easier to target For part 2: while I like it, it needs a bit more dramatism in colors and sounds. It needs to feel more like the idea of being inside a human body. Few antibodies would do wonders for the…
  • Awesome, thank you so much. I am going to try it tomorrow.
  • I am happy with the news of new content. It charged me with a more positive attitude
  • What was the solution, I couldn't find the combat log. :frown: P.S. I am using Arc
  • It will depend on what specific topic are you interested: my current favorites: Fairy tail Sword art online code gueass Valvrave Macross series Gundam Age,00 On a more superhero related topic these are nice animes: Heroman Tiger and Bunny
  • Since yesterday, there has been a lot of speculation on the few instances of information we has been given so far. We should probably wait for more details before making a serious critic. For me, I am giving a vote of confidence given that it seems to be at least better than last year updates. I think it is unrealistic to…
  • Thanks Cryptic North for your effort. I look forward to learn more details about steel crusade.
  • While I don't know the details, it is not unheard in other mmos. It would be nice that this requirement fits sort kind of story but I am not expecting it since there are more pressing things. It is just a time sink, there probably are several ways to go around it.
  • As long Devs try new things, I am all for it. CO can get inspiration from many other games, so it is all good.
  • I think we can help writing on mmorpg sites like massively, mmorpg.com, etc. There will be its fare share of Cryptic/CO detractors, so we can show our support there.
  • If it is supposed to be 4-5 hrs gameplay for first timers, it should be a adventure pack size content. It seems they are trying a new approach and that is enough for me. I would gladly level a new char with that motivation in mind. Thanks in advance to devs
  • I have always thought that this game is one of the faster in terms of leveling when compared with wow or CoX. Maybe dcuo is faster but I am not sure. Just to clarify, I am talking about mostly normal leveling, powerleveling would be a different issue. Aside, there are so many xp boosters around + the occasional 2x…
  • We could speculate a lot about the future developments but I'd rather think about the meaning of such a new content in terms of my perception of pwe intentions 1) If it is another fatal error like content, then it means the their model is basically the same so it is not too crazy to expect next year to be like the current…
  • I have considered the dcuo an option. I got 1 char to 30, but since I consider CO my main game I have not really established(getting into a league and start working on endgame tiers, etc) there. SOE seems to work hard on this title and it came around from its bad times. Cryptic seems to be comfortable with CO's current…
  • Imho, when talking about future, it does not need to mean about extreme positions in closing, maintenance mode, etc. If we take a snapshot August 2013-August 2014, Is it likely that there will be significant more releases from August 2014-August 2015? I have heard from Cryptic the position that they feel comfortable with…
  • I would add an SG managed epic costume contest with prizes donated by Cryptic  The one on July 4th despite its incovenients was pretty nice.
  • Similar to youtube situation in general. 1) Prohibiting copyright infrigement 2) Reasonable effort in catching the infractors
  • Or they could partner with them to create costume packs and share profit. I have seen this in some articles about asian mmos so it is not like it has never happened. Of course, this would be way easier than dealing with DC or Marvel since I doubt anime producing companies would see CO as competitor in their business…
  • How about a system that progressively dissapears them. I mean a costume unlock fusion. It would work essentially like mod fusion but the result would be a random costume part. The player could get a good thing with low probability or another common costume unlock but eventually will end the flooding of common costume…
  • That img would be a nice action figure

  • GW2 offers many routes to achieve progression including crafting and pvp. Given the amount of things to do, it probably would be dificult for somebody into this game to get bored. Lotro has a 24man raid. That being said, endgame progression does not mean necesarily raid. You can have a nice progression of 5man instances…

  • the chicken or the egg? My question still stands, which other mmo without an structure endgame progression is doing well? Maybe like an asian mmo which name for some reason is censored here, using its multiple rebirth feature. The CO current mmorpg design has not been able to either attract or retain players at levels…

  • Again, Pandaland and dcuo have way more players than us. Which other game has gotten away with not having sort of endgame progression. CoX got away for a while but in the end they had to include its own version known as incarnates. About possibilities, there are several lairs and minimisions that can be modified to create…

  • What if your basis for hope? My main issue if that CN does not seem to have plan besides the vehicle+lockbox+ocasional new alert thing. This game is approaching to its 5th birthday, and its competitors are not taking it easy, one of them already got hideouts and it is getting SG bases soon among other things.
  • So no hope :frown: Maybe when the convergence of millenium city with the qliphotic realms CO will magically wake up with 5 or 10 times more subscribers. I appreciate the new costumes and vehicles but the game itself feels a bit neglected.
  • Which other mmorpg game has avoided end game progression? Our current main competition which is basically leaving CO behind, uses a kind of gear progression for endgame. Almost every mmo uses it, so it must mean something. We could always say, we like the game the way it is now as extreme niche game and we don't care for…

  • I support this. Having a non flapping version of this one and maybe for the holoforce wings too.
  • I think there is one of the cave hideouts in the ARC rewards, check it before buying the wrong one.
  • It is not possible to please everybody. One issue that level cap could address is the difference in gear. You have lvl 40 in greens, blues, mercenaries, heroic, legion and then justice. Episodic content like AP,CS and Lairs has been relegated to Q and few costume farming. There is no reason to run them gearwise. There is…

  • I hope Cryptic North has something cooked in the meantime so there will still be people playing to enjoy if/when foundry arrives:smile:

  • Everytime you open a lockbox there is a chance that an image of king sekhen fight will enter into your mind. Note: drop rate not known yet
  • Imho, level cap or alternate leveling systems. The first one needs a lot of development and if people expect to level similarly to the 1-40 it won't last for long. Alternate leveling paths are in the same part, given the speed of CO lvling , unless this new path is a lot of slower than the current one. I know many people…

  • It is called believing and investing in your game. Were that the dcuo players magically summon more players or that SOE made a plan and executed to made the game attractive to players? Whether we like it or not, after CoX demise, DCUO took the place as number 1 superhero mmo, at least in the mainstream. They took a fair…

  • I want thx Patriot Act for hosting this event. I am not so fond of CCs but I think it was a proper thing to do for July 4th, I hope it helps to advertise the game. While I didn't get any awards, I am glad I had the chance to make a new costume since it had been more than one year since I made a costume. Moreover, there…
  • To be blunt, the argument of getting more players was done during ATARI times. New players, especially paying customers does not appear magically, especially when competition is getting stronger and not timid in looking for ways to get customers. I am worried if the master plan seems to be for us to kind of…
  • Welcome to Champions Online
  • I kind of remember another instance were some cool emotes from STO were mistakenly advertise as for CO and later the answer to why not sharing those emotes with CO was basically some issue with the STO IP owner. One could think that owning Champions PnP IP would be an advantage but it has led Cryptic getting away with many…
  • I know it is pretty much perception in either side. Is there any factual evidence of which thing was first?
  • Thinking carefully, it has nice pvp instances. Despite being gold, when I played pvp I enjoyed playing AT pvp more than unrestricted.
  • Thanks devs for you work. This might be my favorite costume set so far. However, I would love that next updates would be things to do instead of things to wear or to ride. Content in which I can gladly wear holo armor
