  • This kind of thread has happened so often in the last 2-3 years. Justine Bieber audience is most likely female young teenagers, who probably thinks he is great. CO has an extremely niche audience, who think that this is the game they want to play and it is great because of that. You can see many of them posting in this…
  • CO did better, they just promoted them to STO and NWO :*
  • I am happy that there are so many people playing CO that we have the luxury to alienate CoX vets. The game must be doing pretty well this days. :* I know comparisons tends to be hurtful. I am not delusional in thinking that CoX closed because some conspiracy. The age and competition got CoX. However, the survival of CO…
  • Gaming industry is not pretty good place for computer science related professionals. A lot of work, average salaries and low stability. Web design and ERP are commonly better salaries more stability, more realistic deadlines and less complains.
  • Our deal as a players is with PWE/Cryptic. Devs are PWE/Cryptic employees. We do not know the particular conditions of their work or the priorities/deadlines set to them and they even might have some guidelines about how they can interact with players.
  • So it would be the concern of STO foundry doing stuff similar to Star Wars o Neverwinter making scenarios based on ******** or elder scrolls universe. As far as I remember CoX mission architech never faced that issue at least in a significant quantity. If you claim was true they might as well shutdown the game entirely…
  • This might be the main reason for the lack of content. They are catering to people more corcern about costumes than content. In the end we actually have been getting what it seems most of the community wants.
  • Nothing stops a player for going to the training center and respec multiple times to try several powers, as long as you stay inside you don't have to pay extra for dropping powers. Meaning that I can effectively try almost every power in my first character. Compare to CoX in which you have to level the character in order…
  • There is no reason to play most of the current content, unless you like a specific costume from one of them. Alerts are popular because they are convenient and reward costumes and Q. There are many things that goes against playing the current content: 1) The lack of actual progression in the end game 2) Leveling alts…
  • so do I. I was tempted to make comments about the article but it would feel like telling kids about Santa's secret identity.
  • Interesting you mention ffxiv. I got into that game about 6 month ago after reading how that company did not give up on its game and remade it. They took responsability and I admire them for that.
  • No, it is not self explanatory. People have fun in different ways, sports, climbing mountains, making boats inside bottles. CO has a group of players that consider it fun that you refer in your next quote CO has been pretty much reduced to a hangout zone with costume contest and roleplays as its premium activities.…
  • Cryptic won't increase development unless it gets more money from CO. CO most likely won't get more money unless significant content is release(way more frequent and better than we have had in the last 2 years). Loving deadlocks, I guess :frown: Who is most likely going to be able and willing to break this deadlock,…
  • I completely agree with you. It's true that the most common thing to do in this game is going to costume contests. I have been out for almost 6 months and I dont see any change more than this news. The sad truth is that the game is not going to change and by now it is too old to warrant the investment for its comeback. If…
  • Last time I read there are at least 2 more superhero mmos in the market each of them from a famous IP. Wheter we like them or not, they seem to have more success than CO. The problem in CO has always been management vision rather than shortage of resources. They lost the chance to catch CoX refugees when the time was…
  • performance vs. time consumed is not necessarily a linear relationship. That being said, the best solution is to take RNG out of the picture and allow certain ability of getting justice gear after X number of rampages of each type.
  • Excellent move. It should have happened a couple years ago, but it is still a wise decision.
  • We get lockboxes, costume and vehicle expansion packs all the time
  • Given how well Cryptic has managed CO with only heroes, I can't even imagine putting another to be neglected child in the house. That being said, heroes are mostly reactive to events. Villains on the other hand create those events and take a proactive approach. CoV and DCUO basically mirroed the heroes into villains, so…
  • Actually, it would matter if the mom made her teenager daughter to drop out school so it won't spend too much money on her while putting her baby sisters in an expensive preschool program. However, I don't blame nwo or sto, they are respectable games which has good investment, you get a lot of more for your bucks there…
  • As far as I have seen in the last 2 years, the main idea is costumes and few devices in lockboxes and zstore. Actual content is released only quick enough to avoid too much playerbase uprage. If CN prefers to make new Lairs instead of retuning old ones, sure they can, but it seems to be neither of those options.
  • You could have stat customization by direct assignment for each level. Gear is used to give a more material sense of progression and guided customization. It is arguable that difference between a AT lvl40 in greens and AT lvl40 in full justice/vigilante when coming to do rampages, especially in the tanking. Respect to wow…
  • By that line of reasoning, why having gear at all. If we already have decoupled the apperance of the character, gear is simply an addon to the current character abilities. Why would we like justice pieces if we have heroic ones. Before reaching level cap characters progress mainly by their levels. After reaching level cap,…
  • Can any other video beat the Millenia Rangers? I have lived the refer a friend, and recruiting in the past, it did not work. For any organized effort that players can attempt, CN has to do its part on it, if not it will be void effort.
  • and we will been having this discussion again in one year. Having Queues is not ideal but it has turned into a necessary evil given CO's special population characteristics. We have pretty little content and we need to be able to use it as much as possible. Neverwinter has an activity page with a queue tab, it is pretty…
  • Glad you said that, but so far CO is still losing to lineage 2 in this FaceOff:frown:
  • wow has had those heroic instances since Burning Crusade. It is actually the initial endgame in wow, before going to raids.
  • That's true, I tend to consider the leveling the single player aspect of the game which should help to know my powers and enjoy nice stories. End-game revolves more about team gaming. CoX broke with this paradigm since the objective of CoX was mostly lvling characters to know how the powers actually look. Still many…
  • While it is prevalent the concept of the overpower hero. I like a bit better the anime version of the underdog who tries hard and never give up. When you see Batman in the context of the Justice League I empathize with him better since he is the one always at disadvantage.
  • "I am clearly too evolve to drive" - Dr. Sheldon Cooper
  • You might be referring to shadowfang keep, which is a normal instance for 5 players, an experience player would not even care about, unless it was the heroic version lvl 85 for cataclysm. My guessing is that since you were a warrior you were expected to tank, and tanks usually are expected to lead the group which sucks…
  • Gear gating, apart of the bragging stuff, is placed to set progression between different raids. That way, a player won't fight the lich king without clearing the previous lesser factions in the specific expansion. The initial Therakiel was not too difficult but it required collaboration so if you get an player that start…
  • There are many mmos in the market. Many of them f2p and/or free to try. I don't think wow or for whatever trend in mmos is brainwashing players. Raids are the pinnacle of teamwork, one messed up and raid groups get wiped. Of course, this creates tension in the social aspect of the game. It ends up cattering the small…
  • I don't care much about spelling. My only grip is that they should have announce it earlier but well. Still I am happy that they are pulling great offers so kudos to the management
  • If you read the first post, it states that the guide is basically invalid after the recent changes. :frown:
  • The wings are great, but the same as other wings, could we have an option that won't flap when flying. I like the last mechanical and tk wings included but only if they don't flap. It will give us a new set of styles for us to use.
  • Not sure, how to answer this. It seems that you are taking Cryptic's defense too seriously. Fine, they can take your year off doing whatever they want, including playing dcuo.
  • Those are great ideas, easy to implement. They could make the same they do with MI and Lemuria crisis to be an optional thing. The rewards are crucial not only for TT but also for andrith and mandragalore. I still think it is a bit too long but I would settle for a decent reward scheme, no atunement and a queue for it.
  • It is so fine that the best lair in the game that is barely run by players. I am not sure if rewards changes or fundamental changes but that I know is right now is not working out for most people playing the game.
  • The best encounters in this games are wasted either in low level or they are set in such a way that very few people play them. Low level lairs have some of the best boss fights in the game like stronghold prison or DD Factory. However, with luck players play them once if they are not going for the alert leveling right…
  • If the game is not fulfilling your its potential is because either something that was done or something that was not done. Either way, in order to achieve this goal it is important to look for the source of the problem, which includes the group of people involved. I am not sure which is your concern, the people who should…
  • In the same way it is desirable to give people credit for their achievements they should be also accountable for their mistakes. In that way, it is more likely to avoid the same or a similar mistake to be repeated in the future. Because if nobody is to blame, then why are we complaining?
  • There should be a lvl40 version of every Lair with different rewards, so there will be a lot of replayability.
