It has PvE elements.. there's still AI enemies to defeat which still give perk credit and points and whatnot.. just ya know, not popular anymore for players because it's just a distraction.
Does anyone else see the irony here? Under the proposed system, the game would be just a little more like CoH which CO was originally made to destroy and is usually degraded whenever brought up. After all, certain powersets would work much better with certain roles than others.
I culled the hell out of people who tried that because alignments aren't supposed to hard-code your actions and using them as an excuse for being an idiot doesn't work. To quote the Cap'n:
I can't. The messed with Forgotten Realms even worse than 4th did and I'll never enjoy the idea of alignment becoming meaningless, especially in regards to previously restricted classes.
I run ADnD mostly but have been moving to Pathfinder and trying to get a 4th Edition Champions game running again. The best system that deals with Power Creep is Shadowrun and Cyberpunk 2077. Reason why is that these two actually have an in game society for dealing with Shadowrunners/Cyborgs that have become too powerful…
Just from DMing for around 8 years now I can confirm this. Keeping the players and their characters in check so they can't steamroll everything but the Campaign Enders takes a lot of work, but it keeps the campaign from being stupidly boring. And as certain people here have proven, if something happens and they get a…
League has a higher playerbase because it's existed as its own thing longer than DOTA2 and Steam was basically banned in China until early this year, whereas League was not. A higher playerbase means nothing, however, compared to quality. And from experience in both communities, DOTA2 has a much better playerbase. People…
Because EVO attendance hasn't gone up every year. Because DOTA2 and Counter Strike aren't one of the most downloaded and played games on Steam. Because one of the biggest outcries in GW2 isn't that the content boils down to a zerg rush with dodging mechanics. Because most reviews don't dock points for the normal difficulty…
No. You don't. You don't deserve jack for just paying 60 bucks or whatever and using that time to idle in the middle of the street. The git gud attitude is in EVERY game, not just PvP based ones. The Souls series, which is growing to become one of the most iconic of gaming, quite literally tells you to Git Gud to do…
...I really wish people would learn what a MOBA is. MARVEL is a Diablo-esque dungeon crawler that has a lot more in common with Ultimate Alliance than with Diablo. MOBAs are multiplayer online battle arenas that generally focus on skill rather than loot/levels, like Quake and TF2 and DOTA2 and League.
But that does nothing to solve the issue. Under that idea you'd still be balancing most things around the idea that your players are all morons without any idea of how they play the game outside of "Go here. Hit this till it dies. You win." What should be done with the end game/high level stuff is something that challenges…
Here Bluegrass, just for you the devs are gonna make a super fun mode where new gear only takes 1 minute to get and everything drops in a few hits. Isn't this fun?
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT. Oh man.. this is just too good. So what you're saying is that if your gear suddenly gets worse for you because of a balance change, you are entitled to having whatever you spent on it returned? Man, if that was the case then so many MMO's economies would get…
..Wait are you talking about Ayn Rand? Oh god this explains everything. Blue, calm down. Men in black suits aren't going to murder you in the cold of night.
Who the hell is this "Rand" person you continue to babble about? Oh, and I'm using it again because it's a lot nicer than saying sh*t happens. Devs change their mind and if they're that hard set on things, you can't change it. Sorry.
yes. Because God knows you can't pay for retcons with G. OH WAIT. You know DCUO offers retrains for InGame Currency as well? And much like here, it's cheap. So no one cares if they have to pay for one. But the problem people are having is that they weren't given a free one as they always have been during major changes. And…
I was wondering how long it'd take for the "evils of capitalism" to make its way into this discussion. It's almost like they want to make money off their product or something.
IT'S ME, MILLENNIUM! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG! What better way to keep you sniveling heroes from succeeding than to prevent you from even logging in to your game? Now you know, there's no price I won't pay to make your lives a total, living hell! no but seriously this is kind of annoying. I hope that guy gets rammed with a 2x4.
