  • I'm not happy that most of the powerframes have lost their unique style and all are becoming boring/bland. Now most of the powers are build x and rupture with Y. They all need/needed work, but this wasn't the way to do it.
  • I'm not happy with the price changes to the recog vendors while at the same time reducing how many tokens the various missions give. I'm not happy with the increase in cash shop prices, with the claim that it was due to the increase in quality. I'm not happy with them trying to sell items (costumes, trinkets, w/e) in the…
  • Not at cap you can't, and that still doesn't fix that the missions haven't changed in 6 years and Alerts are only marginally less boring (provided the queue system doesn't break).
  • It hasn't stopped me from enjoying life, I'm just enjoying it elsewhere while giving my time and money to a different company.
  • The xp buff would be nice if there was a reason to level new characters in game. Too bad there is no longer a reason to level additional characters through a leveling path that hasn't changed much in 5 years. Without the character slot at 40 feature, there is nothing exciting or fun about leveling for the 40th time through…
  • But someone can still make a new account and then make new characters. If the servers were out of space no one could make new characters. If performance issues were a thing, then again those who make new accounts would still be affecting that. The 100 zen slot is a normal slot, not a FF slot. (Still a decent price for it,…
  • They can change a lot of things, this very well might be one of them, but this is also on the border of bait and switch/false advertisement. The free character slot at 40 was clearly advertised as a feature to sell gold subs/lts memberships. The courts won't always side with the ToS, as history has proven.
  • Or those other games don't have very many players in them either. Though it wouldn't be the first time someone lied on the internet. It's not like they release numbers for anyone to verify.
  • A new account would require regrinding and unlocking everything, and with a lot of things going character specific. For me, that's not going to happen. I played through the content over and over again for the character slot. That was the carrot on the stick that kept me playing. That's what kept me spending money for in…
  • WoW is built for an entirely different purpose. Unlike CO, WoW is built around getting to max level to do endgame/run the gear treadmill. They use a class based trinity system with only a few options for customization. CO is all about the character customization and tailor. The endgame in CO will never be able to sustain…
  • Even if I were under the cap, the free character slot was what motivated me to go through every mission, tolerate all the bad alert pugs, and spend money for those new characters. Now that there is nothing for getting to lvl 40, there is no longer a reason to do any of those things that motivated me. I'm also not about to…
  • A bug? BS, this has nothing to do with bugs or non existant technical issues. This has to do with grabbing cash. With out the reward for leveling to 40, there is no reason to level. Making new characters and getting them to 40 is what was fun for me. With out that there's nothing to motivate me, which means there won't be…
  • This sounds more like a client issue then anything else. I don't have any such problems logging into either the live or the test servers. The time out could have to do with security software. TI highly doubt this proposed change, has nothing to do with limitations of any kind of system. This likely has more to do with…
  • Actually it sucks for the game, as soon as I can no longer earn new character slots, I'm done. Currently, with each new character comes the purchase of auras, keys to sell for g, and more. That one free character slot just earned them $20+. Addons make companies more money then the initial product purchase. Free refills on…
  • There are paywalls in CO too. Perhaps not to things you consider content, but some of the new powers can't be used by ATs, for example. Silvers can use them with a FF slot, but that is a $50 paywall.
  • What about those of us already over both your listed caps? The character slot earned at level 40 is the only thing that motivates me to level new characters. With out it, the only thing left for someone like me is the cosmic grind, which for me isn't sustainable. I've done all the missions, multiple times. Both costume and…
  • Dino is the least popular of the three non qwzone cosmics. During varies times of the day it can already be a pain to find people to fill both tank roles and who can make it past the dps checks. If it were the only cosmic up during a day, that would only be made worse. Especially once the tanks get their daily done.
  • All this would do is make it harder to get people for certain cosmics (like Dino) and take longer to buy things from the recog vendor. It already takes around 12 days for a single item on a single character. Making it take longer for players to get their three cosmics a day won't improve anything for other areas of the…
  • I seriously doubt the proposed change to the free character slot has anything to do with database space.
  • Those who think that are delusional if they think that will work. A few years ago I might have considered a second lts, but not now. Especially not if they remove the benefit of gaining a new character slot. I've had my account since the original release, there's no way I'm spending 200-300 dollars for a blank account with…
  • Getting a free character each time you leveled was listed as a subscriber bonus under the matrix that breaks down the gold vs silver benefits. If you move the mouse over the ? next to Character slots. It specifically says you will receive a character slot upon reaching 40. That was used as a selling point for both the LTS…
  • All that would be left is the cosmic/gear grind. I'm barely maintaining interest in that with the handful of characters that i've made 'cosmic ready'. I could imagine trying to do that grind for the 120 characters I have, let alone the 400+ that others have stated they have. That's why I doubt the cosmic grind is…
  • I don't agree with removing the free character slot. Getting that new character slot was my motivation for leveling each character to 40. WIthout it there is no motivation for me. The cosmic grind, imo, isn't sustainable. What about the $50 FF slot? That bypasses this cap they're suddenly concerned with as well. (No I'm…
  • There is likely fewer, depending on when and how long ago you played, to what extent no one knows. Cryptic has never published actual population numbers. There have been attempts in the past to get an estimate, but they often used questionable or incomplete ways of gathering their data.
  • I meant costume slots being character bound. Once a character reaches around level 20 they've reached a point where I won't delete them. I took the time to give them a backstory, costumes, and possibly even found them some auras. With out the ability to earn new character slots the game will quickly become stale for me.…
  • Yes, asking someone to delete a character they spent time, and potentially money, to level is too much. Especially with many auras being character bound, and now costume slots are character specific as well.
  • That's the biggest change for me. Part of the fun for me is getting to lvl 40 so I can get that new character slot. I have 120 slots currently, I've long since bought the maximum amount of character regular slots I'm allowed. Now I don't know if I can buy the FF slot but the one free slot they gave away has a few…
  • Someone on the forums mentioned Kai was really excited for things in the works/pipeline. I wonder if this was one of those things. If this was being discussed internally for a year surely she knew about it, and I guess it's certainly exciting, not the good kind of exciting mind you, but still exciting.
  • No, you get less character slots for more zen. Once again PW/Cryptic is trying to insult their playerbases intelligence. Or because of the other horrible news they thought no one would see this.
  • I meant cryptic and pw had been discussing this for a year, regardless I doubt this was some kind of surprise for the dev team.

  • There's no confusion, we're getting screwed.
  • This change is a pretty big middle finger to LTS/Gold Subscribers owners and those who've been supporting them from the beginning through the highs and lows. Getting a new character slot after leveling to 40 was the only reason some have kept playing for this long. Being able to make alts was the reason to keep grinding…
  • Not being able to get new characters for leveling to 40 is a pretty nice screw you to players who've been here since the beginning. That new character slots been the only real reason many players have continued to play the game.
  • Well, there's always standing behind Vexx or any of the other giant tanks. They usually make good tower shields, especially the puppy.
  • It's the same shade of green as manure. Guess that's as fitting of color for these forums as any.
  • I haven't noticed a difference, most pugs I've been apart of still fall apart at the first ramp as the groups I've been in get overwhelmed.
  • The rewards are pitiful, 3g, a few random r3 mods, and 3 tokens are not worth the difficulty of this terrible alert.
  • If the team doesn't have someone capable of gathering it all up and holding it with out dying or someone capable of killing them all before the group gets overwhelmed, it means the group isn't going to get anywhere. Not everyone, lvl 40 or otherwise, in the game is min maxed or decked out with top end gear and mods.
  • Or enough people stop queuing that players need to beg in zone chat for people to queue. As seen with SC/LI, bursts, ect. Most groups aren't going to stay beyond three or four team wipes at the ramp. No matter how much you try talking to them. Trying to organize a pug is a lot like herding cats. If they want there to be a…
  • When a group can't survive long enough to make it past the ramp and one by one they leave group that's a failure. Especially since if you do manage to get some damage on a turret, it resets if everyone dies.
  • Only until people get to frustrated with failing at the first ramp that they realize this poorly designed alert isn't worth it.
  • A single 40 does not guarantee success. Most of the pugs I've been in so far have all been full of 40s. Most of those groups haven't gotten past the first ramp due to how overtuned and poorly designed this alert is.
  • The new alert is terrible. It has too many annoying mechanics, the endless spawn of minions is a horrible design. Most of the pugs I've been in so far have barely made it past the first room, others haven't made it past the first ramp because as soon as you step into the room the entire thing aggros onto you. It's clear…
  • Warlord has been nerfed significantly since it's release, a gorup of undergeared 25s or even mixed with lvl 40s, will have a much easier time getting through Harmon and FE then they would ever going through this crappy alert. Most groups undergeared groups with out a tank and healer won't make it past the first ramp.
  • This alert will roflstomp any team made up of undergeared lvl 25 toons. The alert needs a tuning pass to ensure it's more puggable if you're going to add it the Vigilance mission. Especially if you're going to stick with the pitiful rewards at the end. There is nothing about the risk that is worth the reward being provided.
  • The alert is fine with out cutscenes. As for the actual alert, much like the other custom alerts this one isn't worth nor fun enough to do more then once. 3 nem tokens is pitiful
  • No, but it's been mentioned before people have been avoiding entering a nemesis alert in the past where their clue might end up in someone elses inventory. Those alerts also reveal that there are plenty of players who don't have a nemesis. I'm imagining that players using alts with out a nem in order to avoid the…
