I'm all for double exp for every event. Great bonus for new players and a God-send for long time players who will fricking smash their computer into a million little bits if they have to go all the damn way through Westside a-fricking-gaine!
In my opinion all this would do is 1) annoy new players since they can't access alerts when everyone else can. 2) keep new players from experiencing group content until later when we'll suddenly get a bunch of level 20 players that still have no clue what they're doing. Real experience makes for better players, not just…
Hologram doesn't look anything like Green Lantern. None of his costumes. And yet people are always trying to give me advice on how to make him look like Green Lantern. I guess because his telekinetic powers are green colored? (RP) He uses advanced holographic technology to create semi-real swords and lances as well as…
Since chainsaw gauntlet is much, much less preferable to chest beam the only way you can get overdrive to run is with reconstruction circuits. It has a long run time so getting all 3 stacks of energy return while not doing any damage is going to suck. And they drop off too fast to be used in the next couple fights. So…
As already pointed out, the game wasn't made with the ability for anything to really follow the ground when moving, cars going up hill would remain totally level and bury their noses in the ground the whole way. But a flying motorcycle looking more like a Harley with flaming tires or a flying convertible car with gravity…
I'd just be happy with a form that boosts melee and ranged. Any attempt to make a character using both falls apart when I have to pick a form and then I'm suddenly stuck as primarily one or the other. I thought being able to flip between forms would be a good compromise. But I seemed to have stepped in something.
God, I hope it's getting an update. Along with new content I think it would be nice if we got our nem much earlier. Like before leaving Westside. Also he/she should show up in person a lot more often. I have several 40's who haven't seen their guy since the first mission. The whole thing was such a neat idea I just can't…
Just throwing this out there. Maybe make PFF a defense/offence combo? Leave all the issues it has now but give it a all-damage boost dependent on it's total currant percentage full?
Off topic: what kind of starting specs and powers have you used? I've never managed to get a telepath out of Westside without deleting the toon in frustration. On topic: Have you ever heard of a Marvel character named Sleepwalker?
Force Constructs: the powers look like transparent, glowing versions of objects. Force Bolts: (undecided) Force Blast: Fist Force Eruption: An anarchist bomb appears around the character while the power is charged. Force Snap: a big fly swatter appears behind the target and smacks them toward the character Force Shield:…
For any of the transforming travel powers, bat flight, etc., I always thought it would make sense if the transformation only happened in "high gear". So at max speed you're a bunch of bats and when you enter combat, poof, you're a vampire again. For a Wolf Run maybe 'first gear' you run up right. Then 'second gear' you…
The Nemesis system is the only truly unique thing this game has going for it so naturally it's been ignored even though it was one of the big selling points when the game was being shown off before launch. It should be one of the key aspects of the game and yet I have several 40's that have hardly even seen their nemesis…
Okay, okay. Awesome idea! No one's ever thought of it before! Wait for it, wait for it! You play fantasy heroes; warriors and wizards and what not who hit orcs and dragons with swords and things! What, like Everques... Never before! You cast magic spells at goblins and fight ancient evil! So like World of Warcra... All new…
What has seems to have worked the last few times it to be sure you break the box with a Power and not an Energy builder. While not sneaking, Shadow Form blows it for you too.
The entire Nemesis system needs a huge overhaul. But I'll be really surprised if we ever get any real work done here though. CO isn't a priority. . . . Man, it's really hard to not bad mouth Cryptic on any post I make about big things the game needs. CO needs: 1. New areas and a new level cap. 2. A major review of the…
It's all instanced, it'll fit in a phone booth. Or do you mean the 'open' lower area of the air ship? That was only ever supposed to be a "lobby". There are doors for the main instance up there.
This is one of those things that seems like it would be a natural fit. But, damn, it's a pain really. Force has to be the hardest set to mix with a melee set because almost all of it's powers knock your target out of melee range. Force snap does a knock-toward. But it's resisted or partially resisted a lot. So you'll…
People always jump in on these things with how they're good enough as is. But the OP is right, no one does them anymore. I'd just really love it if they gave up more EXP so you could use them as an alternate leveling path.
These days they're used to accidentally remove all your equipment. Some people can make use of two or three of those things but by and large they're not good for much.
Huh! I thought the Harrier was a British plane all this time. Maybe make them a little transformer like. But mostly I was thinking of just symbolizing the vehicles associated with the profession. Still looking for an idea for the Marines. Also I think it would be pretty important to make it so you could put a country's…
Wow, this thing is 35 pages long without so much as a "We can't because the technology is -bla-bla-bla". I'm starting to think Cryptic doesn't love us anymore.
I like the earless head idea. How about some themed high tech armors that look a bit like the associated vehicles? Army: Tank-like with big arm cannons and tread feet. And a huge ridged helmet with slats to see through like the little windows on a tank Airforce: Jet-like with Variable-geometry wings, they fold down a long…
Maybe I'm feeling a little pessimistic today but I forecast them getting about half way through a vehicle review then Cryptic will run off with half the developers to launch another MMO, probably set in an anime world or something, and by the time we get them back the focus will have shifted way a field of vehicles and…
Ah, I see. I was responding first to championshewolf and then answering you and we confused each other. To championshewolf: Visible disk because it's the "Fire Flight" of the Force set so should match the appearance of that set. To gradii: The way I see it, the Force set was envisioned as a force field power. But has also…
Yeah, I've made use of PA for a few cosmic heroes and it's worked out okay. But if you want optic blasts you either take Eye Beams, which do not stand well on their own, or you tap Force Blasts out of your face which looks like it's giving your character whiplash. I stand by my suggestion. Invisibility is a staple power of…
I'm not really suggesting that your character's arm or hand stretches out. Just a solid colored projection. It doesn't try to match your costume or anything. Essentially it's just a fist shaped blast with out glowing effects and a tether, if you will, that looks a bit like a forearm rather than a trail of light such as…
I've been in a few where if the team wasn't absolutely acing the fight a couple people would just drop out even if victory was still likely, just further off. But where this really drives me crazy is fighting Cybermind. If a couple players blow it on the first rain you'll often get one or two players who'll just write the…
The day auras went live I, totally misunderstanding the system, bought 4 aura slots and two auras. And just about rage quit when I found out those aura slots were only good for the toon about to hit 40 and mothballed. Not to mention the bitter hatred for character-only access to an aura. And the little ball of hate I have…
If you could get some good leveling gear with the recognition tokens that would be something anyway. As is after you've unlocked the costumes and travel powers they are utterly useless to anyone's alt who goes through those zones. You can take trade them in for a mystery box that might maybe have a useful piece of gear but…
I don't know if it would require building whole sets from scratch or if it could be mostly a copy paste operation, from the discussions of adding new emanation points I get the feeling it would be a huge pain, but I would extra love it to have the option of useing the entire Force set out of "ray guns". Again, I'd like to…
Thanks a lot guys. I'm taking much of your suggestions to heart. I dropped Compassion in place of Form of the Tempest. I wish there was a toggle that balanced ranged and melee better but oh well. Every time I've tried a range/melee build I've ended up with a range guy with a couple melee powers or vice versa and I guess…
I'll number some of my concerns to make it easier to answer. 1I'd like to keep TGM if for no other reason than I don't like to intentionally gimp a character and what's the point of a hybrid if it's not a threat at ranged and melee? I'd like to have some kicks for the look of them, but I don't see any advantages that are…
