Kicking me softly. With this lag. Tearing my toon's world. With DCs. Kicking me softly. With this lag.

    I heard they had a fun game,
    Superheroes flying 'round,
    And so I went and logged in
    And tried to go to town,
    But then I rubberbanded
    Into a gang of bad guys,

    Can't finish an Alert,
    I tried to fight old Hrodgeir
    But just got myself hurt,
    I prayed that it would finish,
    But it kept lagging on...

    I tried to run some missions,
    Tried hard not to despair,
    But then it disconnected
    As if I wasn't there!
    And when I logged back in again
    It just kept lagging on...

    except I've been lucky so far this month and skipping the DC part... usually

    I've had a few random SNRs personally, but it's disheartening that so many people have had long standing issues with lag and DCs. This instability for our already smaller community is not a good thing. I won't hold my breath, but try to remain optimistic that Cryptic can fix this.

    Full disclosure - I haven't had many lag issues with CO lately (although there was an Alert the other day that lagged hard at the start, then DC'd the two highest-level toons - the rest of us early-teens types pulled it out eventually, though).

    On the other tentacle, I've had some problems with STO, so that informed some of what I did there. And it's still Scott's fault for even getting me started. :wink:

    The lag spikes are pretty bad. When I was playing yesterday, one hit as soon as we killed an alert boss. I stood around trying to pick up my xp reward the whole time, and I couldn't grab it. Even through the whole "exit now" countdown.

    Then I got into another alert a bit later, and it was so lagged that only two people made it in. And even then I couldn't aggro any mobs because of the lag. I couldn't even log out, had to exit the game.

    The lag/CONSTANT DCs out of nowhere are getting to the point that I've just about given up trying anymore. I prolly dc'd like 50+ times yesterday, I was unable to stay connected for more than 10 minutes. I finally just gave up.

    If it's a region, it's called the planet.

    Some people have none,
    then there's the people with lag ingame including;
    waiting for all the NPC's to turn up after you get in,
    waiting for your message list to turn up,
    waiting for your bag to open,
    waiting for your mission list to open,
    waiting to see if the button you pressed does something,
    and the usual in alert- waiting to see if you are suddenly hit stop motion.
    oh and mustn't forget the serial SNR's when they hit,


    and those who can't even get past the login screen.
