Build Advice for a Claw/? build

I really like the claw set but at the same time never was able to build a claw character due to the fact that I hate that there are so few claw powers in the game. I think you pick three and then your done. So I am asking for a claw build that deals good damage, is great in the survivable aspect and can be used for Alerts/solo/PvE content mostly. I want to emphasize that I am looking for a survivable build with claws but can also hurt the mobs a good deal so that the defensive portion isn't the only thing relied upon. Taking down a Lieutenant shouldn't take a minute to do but I was hitting for such low damage I rage quit after the second one I faced. So please HELP!!!

As for powers, anything that uses claws is open game however I am willing to mix in other power sets as long as claws is the main power set used. The only exception to this is the sword power sets. No imaginary weapons for me so those are off the table.

Main issue w/ FC as a set is dealing with AoE, since its very strong for ST dps. I'll include a pretty standardized solo FC build, though ya may want to change around or supplement the AoE chosen (and depending on what other powersets ya want):

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

    Super Stats:
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents:
    Level 1: The Master
    Level 6: Covert Ops Training
    Level 9: Acrobat
    Level 12: Physical Conditioning
    Level 15: Martial Focus
    Level 18: Quick Recovery
    Level 21: Impresario

    Powers:
    Level 1: Infernal Bolts
    Level 1: Viper's Fangs (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 6: Regeneration (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 8: Form of the Tempest
    Level 11: Pounce
    Level 14: Molecular Self-Assembly
Level 17: Iron Cyclone (Rank 2, Vortex Technique)
    Level 20: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 23: Dragon's Claws (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 26: Masterful Dodge
    Level 29: Resurgence (Rank 2)
    Level 32: Retaliation (Rank 2)
Level 35: Ego Surge (Rank 2, Nimble Mind)
    Level 38:

    Travel Powers:
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations:
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Offensive Expertise (2/2)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Played as a Hybrid w/ Regen. Gearing is mostly for Dex and Con.

On the topic of claws DPS, I'd note that Brimstone from heavy weapons pairs very well with Form of the Tiger, allowing you to gain or refresh focus stacks while out of combat. Pick the right weapon model - I prefer the macuihatl for this, but it's not the only option - and it looks like you're holding up a lightning rod, not using a sword.

So I'd suggest something more like this:

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

    Name:

    Archetype: Freeform

    Super Stats:
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents:
    Level 1: The Master
    Level 6: Quick Recovery
    Level 9: Paramilitary Training
    Level 12: Impresario
    Level 15: Relentless
    Level 18: Covert Ops Training
    Level 21: Physical Conditioning

    Powers:
    Level 1: Hawk's Talons
Level 1: Night Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3, Silent Running)
Level 6: Form of the Tiger
    Level 8: Dragon's Claws (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Thunderbolt Lunge (Nailed to the Ground)
Level 14: Bountiful Chi Resurgence (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 17: Masterful Dodge
Level 20: Brimstone (Rank 2, Aftershock)
Level 23: Ebon Void (Rank 2, Rank 3, Voracious Darkness)
    Level 26: Viper's Fangs (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Ascension (Rank 2)
    Level 32: Unbreakable
    Level 35: Rebirth
    Level 38: Divine Renewal

    Travel Powers:
Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2, Rank 3, Versatility)
    Level 35: Flight (Rank 2, Rank 3)

    Specializations:
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (1/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Offensive Expertise (2/2)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Note that this isn't *quite* a leveling build - you'll have to respec into it at level 8. Also note that you will have energy issues at lower levels, especially while building focus stacks. But once you've got rush running on 8 stacks, it's just pounce on new target, full charge dragon's claws, repeat as needed. Plus, of course, one-shotting bosses from stealth; Night Warrior is amusing like that.

Hmm, honestly both builds kinda look interesting. I might have to give both a try! As for the AoE, that would have to be a killer subject. Brimstone sounds interesting but other then Epidemic (which probably wouldn't work since its not being buffed at all) are there any other AoE choices that would mesh well and deal out a good bit of damage?

Epidemic would still be fine just for its ability to mob up henchman easily (even if its not boosted by the passive or role, it'll be boosted by the toggle & ur SS's, and still has decent enough base dps for that purpose). It depends if ya want strong AoE, or just 'sufficient' AoE for grinding mobs when solo. There aren't many choices for the former if ur a melee dps, but many for the latter.

I mean, Sword Cyclone would be prob the best choice for a strong AoE that's melee (and due to no lockdown, easier to use for that than Brimstone), but I think ya wanted to exclude sword powers. Brimstone is good too, but assuming that fits the concept as well.
