Help with a Force Cascade build?

Hey, I'm newish to the game, been here about a month.

The build is currently based around spamming Imaginary Weapons (thank god for that, makes it look like it's firing from armor) TGM whenever I can't do my main cycle of Chest Beam -> Force Cascade (x1 or x2).

Currently pulling 3800-ish DPS which is a bit disappointing given the fact that I've got pretty good gear (Vigilante, Legion, a DUC) and it looks like 4700 is more standard for damage. I've got around 6500 HP, 84% Defense, and 17% Offense, so I'm not super durable either.

Getting well over 4k dps from FC requires a well optimized dps build, AoPM in hybrid role is not going to do that.

Switching guardian specs to Avenger (Preemptive Strike), and adding Force Blast would make your dps a bit higher, but would lower your defense a bit.

That was actually what I tried first, with Quarry, I was only getting about 2800. TGM was a recent addition. I'm still stuck in the PoHo, so I can respec more, if necessary.

@Cyrone: I actually tried using your build prior to posting and it wasn't getting good results for me, but I may have been overlooking how to play. how do you use geyser/eruption/detonation?

FC is going to eat Ego Surge, I'd switch Ego Surge to Lock N Load.

I don't use Ego Surge for firing off Cascade. I use it for the large Ego boost to increase the damage potential of Mind Link.

    Ah that works

This is my FC build, I get somewhere between 4k and 4.5k dps against dummies, with crits fluctuating between 20k and 30k.

Tried a TGM/Quarry/Avenger build and I'm only getting 3300 DPS in return for a lot of lost durability. What am I missing here?

How well will the first build in the thread play in Rampages, Custom Alerts, and such? I noticed about 2/3 of my overall damage comes in cylinders which means I'm hitting multiple targets in many situations (F&I, alert adds, FM), but most seem to only have one target.

Vindicator specs are going to give a bit more dps than guardian.
Nimble mind (and thus Ego Surge) are not important without any CON.
Two Smoking Barrels is not going to do anything for you.

The rest is due to rotation and practice, and gearing.
To make the rotation work well I want to be able to do one fully charged FC and one Conviction without having to build energy. That is why I am using Mental Endurance over Force of Will, and I have one Growth Amulet in my utility gear.

This is so right. Also I might suggest putting Refraction on Force Bolts, have it toggled constantly. Refraction will give your EB a chance to trigger an energy form for reduced Cascade cost.

What does Nimble Mind have to do with Con? Not quite following there. Thank you for the information.

Nimble Mind's huge crit chance buff - the reason it's so popular in the first place - scales with Con.

...Why doesn't it say that anywhere in the advantage. @_@ Okay, thanks.

Looks like to make this build higher DPS I have to sacrifice more survivability than I would like to, for conceptual reasons. If only there was a decent way to test durability in the Powerhouse...
