Every day at evenign around 6-9 pm i'm having server not responding times some even go over 120 seconds, disconnects, lags, chat offline and rubberbanding of the worst.

And i'm not the onyl one having those, it variets a bit but it has nothing to do with the country or location or my own router or internet i can say that for sure.

Give us a ******n statement cryptic to this, becasue i didn't see anyone answerign to that problem yet. Give us anything because the problem is clearly on your side, your servers even inlcuding STO and NW also as far i readed.

If you even care about this game, the money some of us put in it becasue like me i really like it but always it's potential gets wasted, give us atleast a asnwer, something, i whould be already happy about a "we work on it".

I'll add to this, granted my post is located into the link, I've been getting the same issues, but slightly different. For me I get SNR then an right out DC, after that I can't log in for about 3-4mins. Pidgin the program I use closes down too.

For info about Pidgin, I'll post an full report of it, tomorrow, as for me I'm getting pretty sick of it, I'll send in a support ticket, if this PW even has one. then if this don't happen then I'm more likely going to make an email complaint and higher and higher.

Just a thought but given the way the internet works and there for your connection with the game server there a pretty high chance that fault is not on there side or your side but some where in the middle in no man's land.

a root trace of your connection to there server when the problem is occurring would probably help identify just how close the problem lies to cryptic servers the closer it is the more people affected as the number of alternate routes to the server from a given location decrease.

For the record can't say I've had the issue but im not sure how your 6 to 9 pm time frame relates to my 6 to 9 pm (I'm in the UK)

Can't tell if your being a prick, like the way it looks like to me or if your agreeing and showing us that something else needs fixing.

This has no excuse, to not beening able to fix their issues, no matter why or how it happens. But altlest we kown where its coming from, so yeah, can't tell.

If the problem is Cogent throttling throughput, then it is not something Cryptic can fix.

How many times must this be explained?

Consider this... can you really blame the retailers for not having stock when there is a trade embargo going on?

That is how I understand this, feel free to educate me if I am wrong.

hummm, so is Cryptic and Cogent 2 different things?, humm I'll have to look into that at some point, and well, when you say it "How meny times must this be explained" I'll like to remind you, not everyone knows that, and that can be taken as an insult if not readed correctly. So please just keep that in mind, before you toss us aide like nothing.

Yes, your right, its not something THEY can fix, but it gives them NO excuse why not to contact them and look into it dous it?

Oh and about the hole law thing, yeah was silly, I tend to put BS down like that, but usually if someone involves the law, it scares them. But lol yeah, it won't happen,

eheheheh, sorry but I just love your image, also for some reason, when I saw Mechanon in your name I was thinking "Oh no".

But like I said, something just I said to see if I can spike up something, it sounds silly I kown, but usually or so I heard, if people to involve the "law", or what ever it is to sue companies and such. It really starts to blow open things.

But yeah, I'll edit my post a wee bit so I can stop lookin like an idiot :3

How come I did not notice that before?, odd. But that type of "disclaimer" really is just to save their asses really, DE does it too, they say that they will close all out accounts and blah blah, if something like this happens, when really they just cover themselves.

But, I;ve readed quite a bit now, so I guess I'll have to contact costumer support or see if I can try contact cogent, or what ever they are called.

But thanks, I do feel better now its explained a bit more to me, but still have to stand that it gives PW no excuse not to look into it and tell us "Hay this is the issue"

On that note, do you kown any tips or tricks, you found that chuold help the issues we're and some people are having?

Humm, I'm not quite sure what you mean?, retailers for not having stock?. I'm not really a person who knows so much about retailers and shops etc.

But, I think what you said is, bacily, for example: If I wanted to by this toy for my sweet qularr wife and it was;t there, I can;t me mad that its not been re-stocked because its brought all the time and they can;t re-stock faster then its been "traded?"

If that's the case then yeah, can't really blame them, but in other ways you can, due to they need more people on the till or more people working harder. I've neevr had a job in the shops before so I'll have no idea.

But in PW wise, well I understand now and feel a bit harsh now just pining it all on them, but like I said it gives them no excuse to look into the issue or try contact their others, and explain to us whats going on, I don't see Radio or TT helping to "give us a statement"

Sorry, for the crap-spelling or so, I just got up as I typed this.

    A quick primer:

Cryptic is a game studio. They create MMOs and host them on their server farm (since it's a relatively small company, they only have one server farm, on the east coast of the US - I'm told it's in the Boston area, a region that so far this winter has seen better than eight feet (two and a half meters) of snow, with no sign that it's going to stop anytime soon.

(Perfect World Entertainment is the publisher; they have the rights to distribute the game, take a cut off the profits, and can make, ah, "suggestions" to the studio. The studio can, technically, ignore the suggestions - but that might not always be a good idea.)

Cogent is an Internet Service Provider, or ISP. I'm told they don't actually own any infrastructure, but instead lease lines from other companies (probably a cable company, assuming the connection is either cable or fiberoptic) and shunt data through them. Cogent is often a low-cost solution, and depending on the laws in the area it serves it may be the only broadband provider. (In my area, there's only one company that provides broadband service; in this case it's because they own the infrastructure, and it would be prohibitively expensive for another company to lay their own cabling.) However, Cogent is also infamous for having issues with connectivity, either because there really is too much traffic or (as the Federal Communications Commission believes) because they're deliberately throttling data-transmission speeds.

It is known that Cogent is having a dispute with another provider, Level 3; they believe Level 3 owes them money for data access, a contention that Level 3 disputes. As a tool in the dispute, Cogent has taken to deliberately throttling data-flows coming from Level 3 connections from time to time. (This, incidentally, is one of the driving forces behind the FCC's recent introduction of Net Neutrality rules, redefining internet access as a utility under the terms of a 1934 regulation, and thus prohibiting charging content providers extra for special access to the network.)

Unfortunately, if, as appears may be the case, the connectivity issues have to do with Cogent's disputes with other ISPs, there may be absolutely nothing Cryptic can do to change it. By way of comparison, and going back to an analogy that's been used before, imagine that you're driving to work every day. One day, the Department of Transportation decides that they need to close the road every so often, and reduce the number of lanes other times. Your employer doesn't own the road; there's not a lot they can do about the closures. Similarly, Cryptic doesn't own the ISP; there's not a lot they can do about their data being interrupted.

Over the last 5-6 weeks I've noticed DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT in the game.

I was getting heavy heavy lag at any tailor or in my shared bank.
Major lag during battles (certain power effects seemed to be a cause)
Occasional disconnects...random and really never more than one in a 4-6 hour gaming period.

It even was at the point I started plugging in a long cable to get off wifi (and that helped some). I started thinking it was my wireless card.

Now though, I have almost no lag on wifi. Just a few weeks back...no lag at the tailor or my shared bank. None. Zero. I mean I was having this problem for months it seems.

No lag during battles now. For me this started more around the xmas event, but it hasn't happened in some time.

Occasional disconnects...yeah I've had 2 in approx 90 hours of gaming (4 hours a day, plus 10 hours weekend for 3 weeks). It's annoying, but given all the other "wins"...I'll take it.

Bottom line is Cryptic has been doing great work and should get some recognition for that IMO.

Yes, they're doing rather well with what they have. They could probably use an upgrade to their server hardware though. Seriously, one server for three MMOs? I imagine it's rather taxing on the system to run like that. I wonder what it looks like.

The cross-game chat would probably have a fit if it had to split servers though.
