Toxicodendron Plant Build

*Sighs* Alright well, I've made my decision of what Im going to do. Due to this build is just cuaseing me headaches, and too much stress due to the Role/Thame is really not working. And truth to be told theres no powers that will remotely fit her.

My original plans where to replace an level 40 to convert into Veila, so shes got a full set of toxin powers ready to go without the hassle of leveling up, yes Im that lazy. However you whuold probably agree with me that its really hard to think up a theme, by just doing an right up level 40 and trying to think of a good build there, where your missing out slowly leveling her and then learning to like her setup and such.

I did that with my Lizzy build, if you remaber that and it felt great, so what Im going to do is just chancel this build what I got and go on for a full on Toxin build. At the moment shes going to be a level 13 and Im going to level her up from there.

So so far, its going to be full on Toxin, so far I got this. All I need help is the SS stuff.

Thats how far its going to be at this moment, however this is what I'll want to build towards, I'll scoop around on the PTS, as I always do and see if the powers are good to build to. So if you think this is a good build then just say nay or hay.

And I'll build to it. I really apologize for this, but have to understand how hard it is for me to build a theme, where it don't exist, So I apologize deeply for this confusion and mucking around.

However I am working on a build as well that I want full on level 40, as I already have a taste of how its going to be, and I'll post my other topic there. As for this topic I'll keep it open, as I''ll have feedback on the build as I level up, *sighs* its time to stop beening lazy.

Anyways, now that I've got that out the way, here is the build I'll level up towards. I am really unsure on the last 2 powers, but if you can think of any suggestions, i'll mark it down and test it.

Eh, okay here's yet another go..

If ya want Stone Shot, then I'd pair it w/ Defile and Preemptive Strikes if ur going for an Infernal SN + Earth mix:

    Level 21: Daredevil

    Powers:

Level 1: Stone Shot (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 6: Venomous Breath (Rank 2, Rank 3, Paralytic Bile)
    Level 8: Concentration

Level 32: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)

    Avenger: Round 'em Up (3/3)
    Avenger: Offensive Expertise (2/2)
    Avenger: Preemptive Strike (3/3)
    Mastery: Ego Mastery (1/1)

Working in Int + MSA (instead of SP) is possible if ya pickup something like Fissure or Vile Lariat as a cd-based attack. I'm not quite sure where ur going w/ this, so I left it pretty open.

Yeah Ego Surge w/ NM gives ya a large boost in crit% while the AO is up (scales w/ Con)- its a good cd for burst damage.

Hummm I see and well yeah, I do apologize for this mix and messing around, its just so hard to get the right build close to a theme/role I like that doesn't really exist in this game.

Type of thame is she loves anything toxic, but she loves the wild too, so a mix of earth and toxins of course, but not really sure what other powers will fit sadly, shes a lover of wild and mother nature the outdoors, and she makes weapons from wood, rock, bone etc.

She'll stab you with your bone Rib, if you let her, but she don't control things like the weather, she just has that type of power, (God water powers be nice too).

Shes also a great girl with bows and small blades. so its rather hard to pinpoint such powers.

    But I'm getting there.

Edit: Alright so, I took your path, replaced PSI heal with the arcane one, due to looks much better (and supernatural I think). I got myself quick sand, due to do like that, I'm not sure if I'll keep the pull in, so I can use my cyclone chain or push back. not sure on that, maybe you can suggest. Picked Forced Shot, to fit her thame, and its only one bow power, I'll be useing this mostly to snipe first, as high damage then finish them off with powers. And I got Ego surge as its good.

However really unsure on the other powers, I am as right now I speek, testing a few Shuriken powers,

*shrug* Looks okay for a skeleton build I guess. Ya def want to add Concentration as the toggle, regardless of what else ya add to the build. Ego and/or Int should be ur key stat, as well as Con for the health and for Ego Surge's Nimble Mind adv.

Pestilence only boosts Toxic dmg, so be careful on loading up w/ Earth or Archery powers (which are mostly not Toxic dmg, save for Gas Arrow). I'd keep most of the build's attacks as Toxic dmg typed, if ur keeping that passive. Alternative is taking something more versatile like Quarry, which would be good if ur using attacks like Quicksand and Stone Shot more often.

I'd also add at least one heal cd and/or active defense- so ya dun have to rely on just Arcane Vit to stay alive. Otherwise the rest of the build is just up to what other abilities ya like to use.

humm alright, and lol an Skeleton build?, I'll add Conc for sure, for the buff, and I'll take the SS as suggested. I'll see what type of healing I can find or defense.

And yeah the rest, I'll need to really think about, like I said this is really hard to choice.

Wow, sounds like your design concept is all over the place in regards to powers.
Type of thame is she loves anything toxic, but she loves the wild too, so a mix of earth and toxins of course, but not really sure what other powers will fit sadly, shes a lover of wild and mother nature the outdoors, and she makes weapons from wood, rock, bone etc.

Shes also a great girl with bows and small blades. so its rather hard to pinpoint such powers.

I have a character that I named infinity, who will similarly have several attacks all over the spectrum. I have left him parked in the power house until I can face the horror that he has become. However, I did discover a passive that boosts all damage called Night Warrior. It doesn't increase damage as high as Quarry but it would equally boost all attacks and it allows you to ignore 10% of your opponent's resistance. You could ignore the stealth component of this power, or you might fiind it fits your theme as a stealthy forest dwelling but kicking pixie creature of doom. So... I came up with a build based on your design, there are a ton of areas in this build, I tossed in eye of the storm so you can survive a little bit easier if push came to shove. I also gave you shuriken storm...

This is everything and a kitchen sink:

The problem I see with this is that there is a ton of area damage and no focus on single target melee. With quicksand, you are going to want to be in the middle of the fight, or the middle of the fight will come to you. If you want more melee, I would suggest ditching one of the area attacks and picking up devour essence which is a great maintain single target attack with a heal built in.

Good luck with whatever you do. Sounds like you will have your hands full!

When it comes to theme I think perhaps your letting what the powers say they are have to much impact on what you need them to be for theme. just because it says one thing in the description dose not mean it cant be another in your head.

My plant guy harvest has as powers Psi Lash, ego sprites, TK assault and shadow embrace.

Psi Lash and embrace were picked up for there tendril/vine look though I suspect lash may go at some point in favour of a melee move. ego sprites I consider him releasing spores of some description.
TK assault I picked cause before ranking it reminded me of some kind of luminescent bug or spore now its ranked up not so much so it may have to go which is a shame thugh given that its bugged at the mo and fails to play the full FX i hardly ever see the glowy sword things.

This is an idea that I've had in my head for awhile. It's more of a melee focus, with some range. He's more plant than human which means he's constantly regenerating. He also has toxic thorns for claws/fingernails.

Also there are some themed utility powers - (A pet, Some Control, and a Resurrection Power). Which means he can restore life to himself and grant life to others. I wish there was a better pet for this (but with some imagination you can picture Tyrannon's Familiar as big pile of moss covered rock.. sort of like Poison Ivy's animated plant men).

I haven't built this yet - but it might be fun when I have the time.

Yeah, I can see how certain Mentalist and Darkness powers could be tweaked to fit a 'Plant' theme.

I assume ur ranking AotB just so ur toon is larger when out of combat :x

AotB won't proc off of Massacre or Venom Breath w/ Paralytic Bile. You'd prob want to add Shred w/ PS adv for Shredded in there anyways, so that's one way of making it work.. though you'd still want more ways to gain Enraged stacks in AoE. Other option is just taking Enrage over AotB, and using Pounce to keep Enraged up- even when ya aren't using Massacre.
This is assuming ya want Giant Growth, cause otherwise FotT + Dex means ya dun have to worry about picking certain powers as much (AotI + Int/Ego is also an option, but not so much for a melee build- unless its a 'combo blaster' of sorts).

You also ranked up some things I'd consider lower priority to rank- like Rebirth, Res serum, Locus Swarm, Rip & Tear on the end builder. Its mainly an issue if ya need more adv points for finishing the build. Brawler spec is also of less use if ur not taking adv of Setup. It can still be fine due to Penetrating Strikes' debuff, but Warden or Guardian are the safer bets here since they'll have wider benefits that are more reliable.

The familiar is okay for a pet in terms of theme. If ya want to go more w/ the 'in tune w/ nature' concept, beast pets like Command Animals could work. Firesnake is both a good debuff for Toxic dmg and, when colored green or purple, can be imagined as a creeping poison or maisma, of sorts.

The build can work w/ a couple tweaks, since the concept is grounded in some solid abilities (Regen, Bestial SN clawing, Venom Breath w/ adv, etc).

I checked out [taintedmess]'s suggestion with shadow embrace and ego sprites colored green and I can attest that they look more plant like. [Flowcyto]'s suggestion on the fire snake looks like a miasma cloud and when it envelops people it continues to look more like a cloud or gas than fire when colored green.

You could switch up your powers to something like this:
    Powers:
    Level 1: Shadow Bolt
    Level 1: Shadow Blast
Level 6: Shadow Embrace (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Concentration
    Level 11: Stone Shroud
    Level 14: Quicksand (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 17: Night Warrior (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Focused Shot (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Fire Snake (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 26: Ego Sprites (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 29: Arcane Vitality
Level 32: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
    Level 35: Overdrive
Level 38: Stone Shot (Rank 2, Rank 3)

This actually pushes all your attacks to range, except for the shadow strike attack. It pulls you out of the toxic set though. I checked the coloring on shadow blast, coloring it green seems to work, looks like mossy sludge, shadow bolt is kinda dark but the green still stands out. The bad thing is only your areas will trigger overdrive so you may want to swap that out for MSA and just use fire snake to trigger MSA... It seems to me that on a standard fight, you would focus shot, fire snake, ego sprites and then quick sand or shadow embrace them down. For some healing you could get slave mentality on ego sprites. The other thing that you may want to consider is swapping int to the primary ss, and dex to a secondary as I am not sure how endurance friendly this build will be.

Or you could ignore these suggestions because they deviate too much from your original build. Good luck!

The build can work w/ a couple tweaks, since the concept is grounded in some solid abilities (Regen, Bestial SN clawing, Venom Breath w/ adv, etc).

yup to all of the above.... I just love the idea of a Plant Powered hero. It's a great idea and I keep hoping we'll at least get some re-skins or something for people who have those concepts.

Thanks for the tips - off to work now. I'm on the night shift! Which I hate!
