James Bonnell's Builds

edited January 2015 in Builds and Roles
Hey all -

Bluegrassbeast, Flowcyto, and Kenpo have inspired me. I decided to make my own thread of builds.

I tend to be DPS and tank heavy, with only a few supports so far.

The rest of this first post is reserved for a list of the builds.

I'll start out with the current incarnation of Mister Tommy Gunn, originally presented in one of Kenpo's other build threads.

Next up - Vramin. Homage character from a somewhat obscure sci fi novel. Healer with some damage.

Gas Girl - my take on the Pestilence / Epidemic toxic character. Freshly revamped with 40 gear.

Ragnar the Red - capable Frosticus tank.

Next up... several DPS.

First a pair of sword builds, same passive, but different play styles - Sword-Dancer (dual blades) and Swashbuckler (single blade).

Well, maybe not. Haven't geared up Swashbuckler. So, instead, a regen/way of the warrior DPS brawler tank named Lianna, freshly minted and decent in Gravitar.

Felt like updating one of my supports - Huntsman. He's now geared up for the 40 respec. So, if you like a couple pets and Sentinel Mastery, check him out.

Another Sentinel Mastery build, this time with DPS - Snowflake. For a change, not named anything having to do with the powers...

Yet another Sentinel Mastery build, this one with pets. Lots of pets. Mistress Maxima. One of my favorites.

After that, a round of ranged DPS. I had noticed that quite a few of my Ranged DPS are different in flavor, but have the same core powers - so I'll be providing a mini-guide to survivable ranged DPS as part of this thread once I get all my builds organized and coherent.

First of these: Commander Pyro - freeform fire character. Got the urge to gear him out and finish the 40 respec last weekend.

Next character - felt like finishing up my energy tank - Plasma Knight. Took a while to test out but I think it's pretty final.

Mister Tommy Gunn was my first 40 in CO, and still one of my favorites. Sturdy enough to DPS/tank alerts if necessary, and sturdy enough to DPS in Gravitar with an offensive passive.

The last two powers I tend to rotate out as the mood strikes, the build's pretty much done and in place by 32. Power order is mostly correct, this could be used as a leveling build. Might need a few tweaks - it's been a while since I rebuilt him last.

    So - gear.

I don't bother with Legion or Justice gear very often - most of mine are in SCR at 40.

Heroic Gloves of Precision, Impact Prism 5 for Offense, Dex 5 x 2 -- plenty of crit, and +offense for the guardicator off/def loop.

Heroic Breastplate of Agility (avoidance), Gamblers for Dodge, Con 5, Str 5 (for the kb mostly but also half his attacks are melee)

Heroic Helmet of Speed, Con V, Int 5

Vigilante belt for Dex and crit, Rec secondary item.

Notable: mostly maintains, aside from specialized things like Holdout Shot for the Heal over Time and Strafing Run for some spike damage. Otherwise, Assault Rifle and Devour Essence for single targets, and SMG Burst (with Aggression for the bleed to feed Phelbotomist on DE) and Eye of the Storm with Blade Beyond the Veil for the damage shield and trash munching.

He's fun. Might swap out Ego Surge for a self rez at some point for Grav / F&I - I tend to try out random powers sometimes, was using something else not long ago and traded it out.

That all these new build compilation threads popping up is.. actually pretty cool!- considering its for the community.

Don't mean to intrude in ur own thread, though. If ya got more, then by all means keep em coming!

    Sentry: Twist Fate (2/2)
    Sentry: Precise (3/3)
    Sentry: Sentry Aura (3/3)
    Sentry: Reinforce (2/2)
    Mastery: Sentinel Mastery (1/1)

So, this guy's a solid healer and can easily cover the main tank in Fire & Ice.

But, I also like doing damage, thus Ebon Ruin (which also helps with debuffing and DoT for proccing Sentinel Mastery ticks), as well as Strafing Run.

He's one of the few I have any Legion gear on:

Offense: Legion Heal, Gambler's for Crit, Sentinel for more bonus healing, and a Con and Pre mod.

Defense: Heroic Agility for Avoidance with Gamblers for Dodge, 2x Pre mods.

Utility: Heroic Utility with a prism for more cooldown, Con and Pre mods.

Secondary: Armadillo. Between Pre's Force of Will, and TK Shield - he doesn't really have a lot of resists, but he does okay. Still, the +25% damage resistance helps. And with AoPM, he doesn't really need to stat much else.

So, features of the build: Illumination with Brilliance to get the team at one go, and debuff the enemies (a little). Celestial Conduit for area healing, also for spot-healing.

Double bubbles: the bind I use that fires them both off is very very helpful. AoRP would make these way more useful, but AoPM is working out for him so far.

He does use one device: Psionic Accelerator. His AOE isn't great, the device and Strafing Run. Yes, Strafing Run - trashes minions really fast.

Psionic Accelerator is 10 targets and has a huge area, so if I pick a good set of mobs, I can sometimes take out two groups at a time.

Would like to have a self-rez, but I don't really need an ally rez on him thanks to a Become Doomlord I picked up at one point.

Int feeds MSA, Thunderclap and Ego Sleep feed Sentinel, as well as Thunderclap proccing Wither and Ego Sleep proccing Wither, Vulnerability, and getting fear via Emerging Nightmares.

He's pretty fun. Oh, and Sentinel Aura helps a little.

He's not that great at maintaining Compassion stacks solo, due to no pets. I might work in Radiant Sigils or one of the mobile permanent pets, but he's pretty fun as he stands. He's great in alerts and Gravitar and Fire and Ice.

One somewhat irritating note about Twist Fate in Sentry: there are a number of EBs that just flat out don't work with it. The celestial one (okay, don't want to get crit from self-healing, I get that)... and of all things, Kinetic Darts. I found that out on another character...

BUT when it works, it does help. +9% crit on a build never hurts.

Gas Girl is my take on the toxic / poison DPS character.

It's also an example of my fairly-frequent use of dual passives. I don't do so on all my DPS or tanks, but Pestilence is such a squishy passive, that I wanted something that would work well in alerts, especially for Grabs.

High points: toxic damage, courtesy of Epidemic, Pestilence, and Defile. Conviction and Devour Essence for healing, along with Vindicator's Rush of Battle for trash-clearing. Essence of the Internal, powered by Ego, in this case as the form.

I wanted to try out Gas Pellets with a character doing toxic damage, it just adds to the pile of DoTs. I do find them a bit harder to use, though, than I'd necessarily like. Gas Arrow with Noxious Fumes adds more DoT, as well as the occasional stun / animation lock. It's a good power to throw into a group first.

As to gear - Heroic crit with a gambler's gem, and a Vigilante crit belt. Heroic Agility with a +defense mod. Heroic Speed with a +recharge speed mod.

PSS choices - I tried Strength (for juggernaut) vs Ego - and found Ego edged it out. Defense stat was higher with Strength, but Ego's Exploit Opening is an easy way to increase DPS and it wasn't all that much lower than with Strength. Plus, Strength only helps DE.

With supernatural power, I have an End Mod, and a Str mod to help with KB. I still get knocked, but at least I can avoid some of the trash kbs.

Fun build. Unity missions are extremely fast.

Defile, on a good day, can hit a 10K crit with some of the debuffs from Defile and Fire Snake going.

Defile taps help keep poison up while cranking through easy enemies.

Alerts and rampages are where the extra DoT really shines.

Interestingly enough, as long as I don't mind some health ping-ponging, Pestilence works pretty well in alerts too.

    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (1/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Ragnar is one of my favorite tanks. I thought he was only good for Gravitar and Kenina Blaze - then, after swapping out (a little regretfully) Fissure/Reconstruct for Unbreakable R2 - turns out he's good enough to tank Frosticus, too.

High points: defiance, high Con, Str PSS for Juggernaut to make more use of high con, and Wardicator for the offense/defense loop. Ebon Void / Voracious Darkness for additional resistance.

I do some slightly idiosyncratic things with Vindicator, and pretty much use that all the time - 1 point in Rush of Battle for trash clearing help, 1 point each in Focused Strikes and Mass Destruction. Then, if I'm doing the offense/defense loop - I put points in Modified Gear.

Alternative specs: could swap out Warden or Vindicator for Protector, which might up threat in Hybrid - but he's not really a DPS tank, he's a *tank*.

He is, however, a DoT tank. Brimstone's Aftershock lays a fire patch, Vicious Cyclone can proc poison, and Burning Chi Fist's Fists of Righteous Flame can give all of his melee attacks further DoT power.

When he had Fissure, that served as an additional heal / Enrage proc / cooldown for MSA, but Unbreakable seems to work better in Fire and Ice.

He's a fun, sturdy build, and can still clear Unity missions pretty fast.

    Gear: Heroic.

Offense has crit, as usual, but with a +Offense mod.
Defense item has Avoidance, with a +Health mod. Might have gone defense, but he's doing pretty well with that.
Utility focuses on cooldown reduction. 48 seconds on AO/AD cooldowns. 3 seconds for Conviction.

Offense puts him at +18% damage, and 81% damage resistance. Not bad for not having any Justice gear.

Wow, Ragnar is eerily similar to a build I'd been playing with, right down to the power progression. I'm using Hurricane + Concentration instead of VC + Enrage. I don't use BCF, and I've been playing with different powers for that second DOT -- Sparkstorm, Sigils of the Primal Storm, Mental Storm, lots of storms but never looked at Brimstone -- but otherwise whoa, almost identical.

This is a fun build. It's a survivable melee DPS that can hold its own in Gravitar. Haven't taken the character into Fire and Ice yet - I figure with a good tank - almost anything is fine then. Without... this isn't really a tank, but can play one in Alerts when there's no real tank around.

Some stats, with just purple 40 secondaries and Heroic Gear:
33% crit, 100% severity, 16% damage strength from Offense, 68% DR from defense, 38% dodge (before boosts from Evasive Maneuvers and Crashing Wave Kick/Subtlety of the Tides), and 64% avoidance.

This build takes the melee classic block, Energy Shield / Laser Knight, for another strong layer of self-defense.

I also went with a munitions unlock - I usually prefer my meleers to have a ranged EB. Even if I don't use it much, at least that gives them a ranged power to use. I am also a huge fan of Holdout Shot / Stimpack. It's a Heal-over-Time that, unlike BCR, has no damage penalty, and will proc MSA.

One subtle fact that can let you mix-and-match early powers - *any* tier 0 attack can be used from levels 1-6. So any of the standard blasts, early maintains, or combo powers can slot in anywhere in 1 and 6. I take advantage of that for an early Vipers Fangs.

Why Vipers Fangs? To apply Shredded. If I was going for a bleeds build, I might do Shred with Penetrating Strikes, but I didn't like that look on this character, and decided to do the bleeds a different character.

This character is all about the lunge, Holdout Shot (or in Gravitar, adding in BCR and Evasive Maneuvers in *heavy* rotation), Crashing Wave Kick, Dragon's Wrath for the Rush buff - then as much Sword Cyclone as my energy can handle. Since it crits, I do benefit from Tempest form sometimes. Rinse, repeat. That usually munches minions very handily.

For harder targets - lots of Vipers Fangs - Warden Mastery adds more +damage resist, lunge/Holdout Shot, and frequent use of Dragon's Wrath for spike damage and Rush.

Sturdy and fun DPS with a few tricks up its sleeve.

Missing: spike heal, self-rez, AO. A lot of my tuned 40 DPS don't get AOs. I probably should, if only for hold breakers, but they're hardly needed for alerts/Unity missions...

That DB build could rather easily tank Kenina in F&I, though- you just have to block when she does her 3-4 sec windup AoE spell that looks like Vengeance (no charge indicator, but a distinct & long casting anim and sound)- that has about the same base as a Dagger per target. The other thing to block from her is the Fireball- but that's telegraphed, so its pretty easy to deal w/.

If I notice I have squishy pug melee w/ me as Kenina's tank, I'll take it upon myself to move away to an open area when Kenina is casting these, cause otherwise its likely those players won't block the impact and will eat dirt.

I'd prob pick a spike heal for the build just in case ya take a large chunk of dmg, but heal packs can also cover that.

So this build was pretty fun a few double XP weekends ago, although then it was more tanky and had Vicious Cyclone.

This is an attempt to be both sturdy, tank-capable, and use Brawler, just because I rarely do.

High points, after fully geared with SCR/Heroic:

55% resist from defense, 11% +damage from offense. This is without vindicator, mind you. Base dodge with WotW, with SCR Avoidance on the defense item.

Heals are from Enrage / Endorphin Rush, Conviction, and in Regeneration mode, Regeneration.

Pretty sturdy build for WoTW though, my usual Energy Shield / Laser Knight, high off/def, and as an added bonus here - Eye of the Storm with Blade Beyond the Veil. A damage shield that helps munch minions? Yes please!

For Gravitar / F&I, I tossed in Rebirth at the end, but really I planned on Unleashed Rage for most content. So that and a couple of advantages are at the tail end of the build so that they can be easily snipped out.

I haven't really used Rebirth before, it's certainly easier than carrying rezzes.

Minuses: no 100 foot attack, but I picked up an Omicron Induced Strength for that. Not that much AOE, and no ranged AOE. I kind of miss Vicious Cyclone sometimes, but it wasn't really needed for the build.

I eventually ditched Slaughter in Warden, in favor of Elusive. Figured it would help more in rampages, and at 28% crit (crit primary, gamblers gem, Vigilante belt) - I figure crit's decent enough. After the dodge/crit changes a while ago - 30% crit is entirely fine and if I'm close to that, good enough these days.

Main rotation: pounce/Massacre for a quick KD (enrage/endorphin rush); Shred x3 to get Shredded and hopefully Penetrating Strikes with any luck as well as Setup, then Massacre.

Tank rotation: Pounce/Thunderclap. I had Crippling Challenge on Shred, but decided to go more DPS on this one. Shred x3, Massacre.

It *can* hold agro in Gravitar if a better/more tuned tank isn't in there, but since I don't have CC/CS on a maintain, it's not that hard for a better tank to do the job.

If you want this as a tank build, I'd probably consider ditching WoTW, tossing in probably vicious cyclone and/or an AD, and swapping out Brawler for Protector or maybe Vindicator. Protector would increase threat in hybrid / health in Tank mode.

All in all - another fun build.

Oh - and a tip from another player led me to Rocket Jump - which does make it possible to escape yellow bubbles in Gravitar if I'm quick on the draw. For a change, I put the second travel power at the end also.

I especially like Mister Tommy Gun. But, I did have a question....why Intelligence as a Secondary Super Stat over Ego? Ego gives a significant boost to Ranged Damage. I understand that Intelligence provides a much lower Power Cost...but I thought this was a ranged DPS-heavy build.

Anyway, just a thought...it does look awesome. :)

    I'm glad you asked!

So far - while I have plenty of characters using Munitions - I personally don't much like Killer Instinct. Or, for that matter, necessarily most other unlocks these days it seems. But KI scales on Ego - that would be a reason to stat up Ego if I was using it. However, it also only works on Munitions powers.

In this case, he's Int-based because he's using Quarry as his passive.

Quarry, based on INT, boosts both Int and Ego, based on how much Int you have. So having a decently high Int is a good idea.

Ego, however, also soft-caps around 70 in terms of the damage boost. Ego as a PSS is really really good - extra offense and defense, critical severity, and I'm a big fan of Exploit Opening.

However, as a secondary - unless you are very worried about holds, or are using Killer Instinct or Ego Reverb or similar - Ego isn't that great as a SSS. I'd go Con, Int, Dex, or Rec above Ego as a secondary. And Dex (well, dex's main benefit, crit chance) you can usually get from level 40 gear. So I mostly only PSS that.

Int, on the other hand, boosts cooldown reduction and cost reduction. It's not a bad secondary for any character.

Now, Mister Tommy Gunn has Overdrive - which scales mostly on Rec, not Molecular Sub-Assembly which is what most of my characters use, which takes Int. It's not necessarily obvious, but I typically get Rec somewhere above 45 on pretty much every character. So Overdrive is being boosted enough.

And - significance of stat damage additions varies. For a Freeform, the damage boost from going above 70 on Str / Ego (absent making it a superstat) ... let's just say, the Diminishing Returns is pretty heavy for freeforms.

You have your passive boost, your Form boost, offense, crit - by the time you add in Ego, above a certain point, it's not doing that much for you. Also, a SSS only adds +40 anyway. That does NOT amount to much overall typically after a certain point.

From 10 to 50 is often a decent benefit, which is why AoPM is so good - you get a nice boost to all stats. But from, say, 90 to 110 just isn't that much real benefit numerically.

As it turns out, I tried Vindicator mastery on him, which relies on putting 1/3 of your ego damage boost into strength. However, he gets plenty of Ego boost from Quarry to feed that.

Also, in his case, he's a hybrid melee/ranged character - which is why he's actually using Tempest form, not Concentration. He could have used that, but with Dragon's Wrath as his heavy hitter as well as Eye of the Storm and Devour Essence, using Tempest form makes more sense.

He's pretty versatile - can be used in Hybrid, Melee, or Ranged damage mode pretty equally well.

    Overseer: Impact (2/2)
    Overseer: Trapped (3/3)
    Overseer: Conservation (1/2)
    Mastery: Sentinel Mastery (1/1)

This is definitely a retcon build - Sentinel Mastery is very important here.

It is also built to take advantage of Presence Vulnerability (Ego Sleep, Mental Storm); Sentinel's Wither (Ego Sleep, Mental Storm, Thunderclap); and Overseer's Trapped (Mental Storm, Storm of Arrows with Achilles Heel advantage).

Missing: AO, AD, self-rez, spike heal, heavy hitter. He's meant as an AOE debuffer with a maintain heal (Lifedrain).

However with Sentinel, Mindful Reinforcement usually works quite well for patching, on top of AoRP.

The pet is chosen mostly for theme - it may be more effective to have Sigils of Radiant Sanctuary or Ebon Weakness.

Also, Force Shield could probably be replaced without too much trouble with an AO or AD. Ascension or Masterful Dodge would probably be recommendations.

Five-man PTS, he (reasonably quickly) destroys without trouble. Haven't taken the rebuild into F&I or Gravitar.

For those, I would probably replace temporarily Thunderclap for Rebirth. No mass rez due to my having a Become Doomlord, but for a Rampage support, a mass rez could be swapped in for, maybe, Force Shield.

This one's rather fun. Started out Munitions, but added TK Lance for a spike attack. After the dodge nerf, Quarry was suddenly less survivable, so swapped out for Ego attacks, Form, and energy unlock.

Some choices may seem a bit odd here, like Str PSS on an Ego ranged build - but Brutality/Juggernaut is just that good. More KB resist is not a bad thing either.

No Guardicator off/def loop - and this is probably a retcon build, or at least, isn't fully mature until 40 - because Sentinel Mastery is awesome when you have some controls.

TK Maelstrom for stun + ego leech stacks + Sentinel Mastery, and if you fire off TK Lance once you're at 5 stacks, Ego Reverb actually works really really well. Just try to keep TK lance in regular rotation because if you run out of Ego Leech stacks, it can bottom out your energy bar.

High points: AO, AD, spike heal (Conviction), debuff (Mini Drive) - with Giant Growth. The character has a smaller model and it's always fun to have this short, winged character suddenly grow significantly larger.

Lead Tempest for AOE trash clearing, Mental Storm for more Sentinel Mastery + DoT + ego damage resistance debuff.

All in all, a fun build. But best at 40 with Sentinel.

    Sentinel: Wither (2/2)

    Mastery: Sentinel Mastery (1/1)

This is one I enjoy a lot. It is *definitely* a retcon build, because at 40, Sentinel Mastery means you don't really *need* much in the way of other heals.

Pets: (temp) Summon Shadows, Sigils of Ebon Weakness; perma (Attack Toys - more pets), Muni bots (strong when in turret mode). Devices: Dinos (yeah, I know, but this is my only set), Nightmare Generator, Khursor's Doom. Tempted to throw in one or two other legacy summons, but haven't yet.

It can work in either Support or Hybrid, depending on if you want more damage for pets/allies or for yourself. Critical hits generate magic lightning - which is where a lot of the damage from the build comes in, since Attack Toys generate a LOT of extra pets.

IDF - no extra energy generation, but in Support mode, it's not really necessary. However, MSA with short cooldowns like Thunderclap (which also procs Wither), and reasonably short cooldowns like Ego Sleep (procs Wither and Vulnerability). No paralyze - tempted to grab some Ice Grenades sometime, but haven't followed up on it.

Two Gun Mojo and Epidemic - solid single-target and solid AOE attack, *plus* Deadly Poison can be the DoT to proc Sentinel Mastery ticks.

Thunderclap + Epidemic = good heals against groups.

Downsides: no spike heal, no AO, no AD. BUT even in things like Fire & Ice, it isn't strictly necessary. The character does not do so well in Gravitar, but with as many alts as I have, it doesn't especially matter if some aren't really up to snuff.

So - pets, personal damage, light controls, and +damage (AoED), + defense (IDF), and heals.

A solid support, albeit without any *targeted* heals other than the follow-on heal from Mindful Reinforcement.

In a good team, provides a lot of firepower and support. Fun, fun build.

    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (1/3)
    Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (1/3)
    Mastery: Ego Mastery (1/1)

Play if you like: roasting badguys very quickly with fire powers; e.g. the Human Torch, Liz Sherman from Hellboy, etc.

He's pretty much following my semi-standard build for ranged DPS:

Ego (or possibly Dex) - with Guardian/Vindicator for the offense/defense loop, as well as Defense in gear. He's ended up with respectable numbers - 61% resist from defense, around 12% damage from offense. Along with Force Shield (could be TK Shield for more of a shiny effect and more physical damage resistance, but not the energy benefits), and two heals, and an AD - he's sturdy.

He does eat it sometimes in Rampages, but he's a DPS.

There's also some health-ping-ponging when alert-DPS-tanking in Grabs as a 40, but nothing too hard. AoRP is a huge benefit in teams where someone else has it...

High points: spike damage (Rimefire), spike heal (Conviction), Heal over Time / attack (Holdout Shot), and lots and lots of fire damage.

Fireball + Flashfire + Fire Snake + Conflagration = quick damage. Add in a tap of Frost Breath and Chill helps debuff the mobs as well, and if a few last through THAT, a Rimefire AOE insta-recharge to consume both Clinging Flames and Chill tends to wipe out most mobs.

Fireball / Unstable Accelerant, + Fire Snake's debuff, + Find the Mark, as well as +crit gear and Exploit Opening, and he crits enough (just a bit under 30%, when Focused Strikes and Mass Destruction are taken into account) that he's doing a LOT of damage fast.

... almost too fast to get Rimefire off consistently, against trash. Then again, trash is over with quickly.

Masterful Dodge nearly got tossed aside for Unbreakable, which is better against mass mobs, but Masterful Dodge also doesn't require any advantage points, so that sold it for me.

Missing: blast attack, single-target maintain, active offense. But I don't miss an AO. Actually - with Fire Snake - I don't need one at all. Tough foes / big groups get the Fire Snake, most groups don't really need it.

I was sorely tempted to use Strafing Run as the last power, but Holdout Shot is really helpful as another single-target attack, as well as the HoT. It's last though to rotate it out if I get bored.

This isn't necessarily a leveling build - power order was more for me to remove things if I wanted to reshuffle easily - but for a leveling build, I'd just intersperse the heal(s), block, etc a few levels earlier. It's not terribly hard to level a fire build, even if you do die a few times...

    Commander Pyro *snip*

    Question about this one.

How will you manage your energy? Even with some cost reduction, the strongest spammable attack (conflagration) takes huge amounts of energy. Energy return from concentration is in no way enough, your don't have stats that makes your energy unlock work well, or stats that help with your energy builder.

    Oops.

Edited - third stat is Endurance, I'm used to Int on most builds and was throwing the build together in powerhouse quickly late at night - after, mind you, spending a few hours on PTS poking and prodding, and a couple days shakedown on live before posting. Call it a proofreading error.

Also, I include enough REC via talents and gear that my equilibrium is ... 82 or so, maybe 84 (can't log in right now, but it's decent - I do that on most builds, I like having enough REC).

End stat is around 133-ish, ego is 275-ish, and con... 250+ from memory.

Plus, Force Shield/Force Sheath when I am getting hit.

You're absolutely right - Int would be terrible for Thermal Reverb. END works rather a bit better in practice.

Hopefully that looks a bit more reasonable.

So this one is another dual-passives build, but it's a bit eclectic - it was inspired by one of Bluhman's tank builds using Laser Sword, somewhat customized to my interests.

He can switch between tanking and DPS pretty effectively, due to Defiance and Electric Form - which boosts two of the key powers, Laser Sword and Plasma Beam. These have Crippling Challenge and Challenging Strikes respectively.

He's above 10k HP, 11K in tank mode. I'm hopeful that he's sturdy enough to tank Frosticus, we'll have to see. Ragnar the Red above is capable, although it helps to have a good healer on him.

I eventually went wardicator, although he was originally intended to be Warden/Protector - but with most characters, he should probably generate enough threat against serious enemies. Against trash - yeah, DPS will probably take away, particularly AOE DPS, but if the team's doing well, that's fine and they'll go down quick anyway.

Two heals, Ebon Void for serious-tanking blocking, and decent energy when being hit.

IF he's taking agro, he can keep Laser Sword and Plasma Beam up pretty well. If not, he does okay anyway.

Sturdy leveling and fun to play.

Dex/Tempest form is partially to take advantage of Con's Adrenaline Rush, as well as a Dragon attack for the Rush buff (in this case, Wrath). And it's partially just as a change of pace - many of my characters seem to revolve around Str PSS/Con secondary with Enrage. So this is different.
