Or whatever, some dumb title... who cares.

I just think it's funny that over in Gunz2 people are also having the "the pros are chasing away all the newbies" discussion. They also have the issue in that game where there is no effective separation of seasoned pros from new players. They have a bit bigger of an issue with "teabagging", or at least their version of it, than we do. Of course Gunz2 is much more well balanced, and emphasizes skill a lot more than build (but only because when it comes to weapons and gear the choices are fairly obviously skewed in favor of a very narrow range which pretty much everyone uses).

Stuff. He look it's the Hero Games section :D

    He...

    Man?

NW is currently having a mass of "challenging content" discussions, they are pretty much past the entire massive gap in power creep when a new player gets to max compared to a player who is actually maxed. Which is by the way at the point where the maxed player could take on a team of 10 new 60's and probably win unless he was dumb.

Pros can't chase newbies away, only you can chase yourself away.
As soon as you realize the pixelated version of yourself is not you and you learn the systems, grind the gears, have an open mind, you will be fine.

The problem is in pve stuff just falls over and you get used to it, wherease in pvp people actually move/react/kill you. It takes getting used to.

Also...what time are the HERO Games most active? I've seen some at 9 p.m. West Coast and very early (6 a.m. West Coast) but mostly it's just...vacant.

That's a discussion I had with a friend awhile ago. My argument that nothing that happens online should bug you that much - because it didn't really happen. You didn't really die. In fact, after dying you can get back up and start over. That's helluva lot better than your real world choices.

It's hard to not get upset. Or rage quit. But in the end, all of us should be able to shake off whatever happens in the virtual world - and move on.

That's all well and good, but it's not about getting upset or rage quitting. It's about having alternatives that do a better job of implementing difficulty curves in competitive content. In a vacuum, with CO or GUNZ2 being the only game with PVP on the planet, then it would be as you say. However, it's not, there are many alternatives for competitive gameplay and as a result players will bail without ever having gotten upset. You don't need to get upset when you have so many other choices. Gamers are not being "immature" by recognizing that there's something wrong and then heading for an alternative that does it right.

If you go to a burger joint and they give you a burger, and it tastes terrible... are you going to say "Oh... well, nothing really bad happened right? It's not as if the taste of the burger is a big deal, it's just some sensory input. I still ate a burger and got the food in my system, so I'll just be mature and deal with it and keep eating here." No of course not, you're going to say "This burger tastes terrible, I'm going to stop eating after the first bite and immediately look for a different place to eat burgers, hey look there's one right across the street". And you'll say this even if the burger was given to you for free.

Just like a chef can't ignore the fundamental concept of "food needs to taste good", neither can games ignore basic concepts like difficulty curves.

It amazes me that in a time where we should actually be getting more critical of video games, there are actually people taking the stance that players need to display maturity by accepting poor design.

    Mm yes, yes. Indeed. *SSIIIIIIIPP*

    *monocle pop*

Too bad the burger went bad years ago and when you give it a bite and swallow that piece of horrid burger it will come up as fast as it went down.

    *unzip*

    *thud*

I started playing Diablo 2 again and that **** is pretty much about the gear, have fun in Hell with no good gear as enemies are immune to everything you throw at them lololo

CO should have stuff like that, imagine enemies with immunities, holy shhiiii-

Then add some special mob bosses with randomized names

"Oh no it's mob of Viper... AND SNOTSKULL THE TERRIBLE"

"omfg it's SPINE FEAST THE HUNGRY and the purple gang"

    and over in Neverwinter PvP;

instagibb in opposing teams graveyard introduced, due to players constantly graveyard camping(after changing it so you couldn't go in on foot, so they worked out how to leap off mounts into the area)

complaints about premade groups vs PUGS.
complaints about gear scores not being tiered.
complaints about Trickster rogues with permastealth builds(still, since beta)
    complaints about clerics(after last patch)
complaints about damage mitigation not blocking as much as they think it should do(I have 42% damage mitigation and they still did this much to me)
complaints about people being vote kicked, so team leader can leave without losing any points for a loss
complaints about team leaving just before a loss, so they don't lose points.

    complaints about not enough maps,
complaints about best gear for Pvp being a Pve set
complaints about getting attacked by a group in an open world PvP area(well, what do they expect)
complaints about lack of balance between classes(and now they have GMC  to help)

How do I find out these?

Because of all the complaining in zone chat and all the usual " I'm not winning so this class needs to be nerfed" in the forums.
at least the ones here are complaining for a reason.
swap their PvP for champions one and then watch them.

You should've seen this guy in CO's Zone Chat 3 weeks ago. He challenged someone to a duel, spammed stealth until his rear started whistling, and still lost because his opponent used Conviction then Force Detonation right after the guy attacked to knock him back and smash more attacks on him.

What did the guy say? "Stealth is too weak, they need to buff it so the attacks don't break stealth before we use them".

Call Maverick if you need a DPS help, or Combat Medic if you need a healer.

    Messaih is a funny guy.

The first time I saw him in-game he was arguing with Professor Fatee. He kept calling him a "noob" and saying that "he would beat him anytime". Fatee challenged him to a duel and said "Then beat me now". Messaih declined the challenge and kept repeating the same insults for about 10 minutes. Eventually he said he'd beat Fatee with his vehicle and finally accepted the challenge. Fatee started beating him, until he decided to use his vehicle too. Messaih resorted to get off the vehicle and fight with all he had, and was losing still. When Fatee taunted him he rushed off to another Zone and kept spamming the same "I beat you" insults to Fatee (as he pasted in Local chat).

Two months later I saw MEssaih again...challenging a level 15 to a duel and calling him 'noob' after obviously winning.

They are both the same, mrgamenwatch and messaih. You just happened to be on the time messaih lost to fatee or whatever.

I like messaih more, because he has an ideological background.
Thats exacly the meanning of the word Messiah in hebrew (משיח), it

means to convert with yourself inside your heart... to become smarter

    then anything.

and in English also to mess with god. by the meaning of being snafu

with god and to mess(to convert) with him, Messiah = Mess

    iah(iah=jah=god/the lord).

Therefore EVIL is having a CONVERSATION with LIVE (EVIL-

    LIVE=backwords).

The first time I saw Messaih he was arguing in copvp channel with someone (noticing a pattern here) and challenged someone to 1v1.. they accepted and he got destroyed within 4 seconds of the duel starting. He immediately demanded a rematch... I left before the rematch finished because he spent the entire time I watched desperately running while trying to avoid getting destroyed again which was almost constantly almost happening.

This is almost true. Penni's build beats everybody except for Mace(10k hp aopm with str primary and no heals or active defenses), Xenomerp Drone (quarry with sigils?, force cascade, ebon ruin and lead tempest, yeah, you got it right, that is his THEME build :), Ethan (who is now called Kuchirikato or something, because Ethan was too complicated for people, just read this guy's description, you'll cry) and x.X.x.-N..I.E.R..--T.H.E.--E.N.D.--O.F.-W.O.R.L.D.--x.X.x from XXX-G0DS OF WAR-XXX.

On the topic of awesome descriptions, the one mentioned above+lmc's+abylo's are too awesome guys, you should read them if you ever see them. It's like: hmm lemme copy the description of this PS3 game and change the names.

that was funny, I kept hearing mario bros playing for some reason.

this is the same person, who is currently using, stealth and crybaby grenades and bragging about how great he is?

always loved NA stealth, you take any damage it drops.
Always a nasty surprise to those who just got the passive when it first came out and started challenging everyone so that they could surprise strike them.
I watched one run into Pestilence.
