It would be most appreciated if theres anyone who would be willing to help me learn this game, there's clearly a lot to learn and I'm not even sure what type of hero to pick, whether to go with an archetype or freeform. Hopefully even how to design a toon that looks good instead of like a jackson pollock.

I would start with making a character who is like your favorite super hero to start with. Also read alot, there are a lot of tool tips and they help a great deal. As far as looks, take a couple hours and play with the costume creater.

Pay attenion to things in the tutorial, it exists for a reason.

Yeah, really, not a lot to teach about the character creator.

Take your time and look at different options. Gop through all of the head option categories, and look at all of the pieces in each category before you move on, then start looking at all of the different options in all of the different chest categories.

Look at different designs and what sorts of color options different patterns have. You don't have to keep the colors, this is just to help you see what different options there are. I suggest bright colors, and four distinct ones to start to help you identify the patterns.

Also note that not all things are compatible. Certain chest options will lock out some soulder pads and belts. Choosing hips wear and gear for legs cuts out belt options entirely. You can choose to have bracers, but you only get them if you choose the "short gloves" option for hands.

Costume creation is 5% learning, 95% patience.

It's also about the character. A character more grounded in "reality" is going to use some costume options that a more typical comic book hero might not. Same if you make an ancient wizard or time-lost knight.
Some options won't really work for some character types, but you will still have to sort them out.

As far as freeform or AT, I don't know enough about your situation. Are you a monthly subscriber? Did you buy a lifetime sub? Did you buy a freeform slot?

In most cases, though, for a really new player I would suggest an AT or three just to try different things out and to learn the basics of the game with little concern for whether you were picking the "right" powers.

Not all ATs are created equally, though, so maybe someone with experience can tell you which ones might be better for an inexperienced player.

Archetypes are probably easier to start with, since they are already set up.
Freeform you have to actually pick your own powers, which ois a nightmare if you don't know them.

mods/fusing is simple, just go the the austion house at any level and buy a peice of gear with a slot. about 15+, then go visit Max Plank in the Fusing building in Ren center(yellow)
learn a craft from a trainer, they are all pretty much the same,
then do the crafting mission, read carefully all the pages which pop up.

general- ! over someone, they have a mission for you, also they may show on your minimap. M is map.

    J/K is mission list.

doulble click on a misison to make it primary. you should then have a blue arrow over your head pointing where to go, also an orange circle on the map , showing where it is.

I like to try out every power / class in a game ever. This normally means I reroll a lot. So, that's my advice on how to pick something you like: try everything.

Beyond that, I don't know what to tell you. Depends on what you're looking for, if you are a more casual player, if you're a fashion addict, or whatever.
