have the constant disconnects been fixed in this patch? if not people are going to have a very hard time facing mechanon, or anything in game.

If it's a connection issue, that's probably not going to get fixed with a patch. That's going to get fixed by TrailTurtle grabbing a goalie stick, making his way to Cogent's offices, and gently reminding them that the Internet works better if you plug it in.

I like the mission, but the knockback is a huge problem because I kept on being slammed into corners in the ceiling area where suddenly my camera view was all screwed up and I was seemingly pinned between Mechanon and the wall, unable to figure out what was going on. If I hadn't been playing a darkness user (read: Drain Life) this would have been a major difficulty to survive through. And Mechanon dishes out the knockback so often that its next to impossible to do a charged attack, and things were moving too fast for me to really make effective use of the gravity belt, as I was constantly having to replenish my life just to hold out.

Tip: It won't help against being knocked into the ceiling, but the drifting issue goes away if you have some sort of Flight power active. (On PTS, it was the only way I could recharge Concentration if I had to revive halfway through, because once you move from your starting position you're adrift - which keeps powers that require you to stay still from activating.)

Might help if you posted an actual image file. You know, one that ends in .jpg, .gif or .png. I was able to get to them by quoting and copying the URLs, but Steam has really obviously blocked remote posting from there.

EDIT: Ooo, try just posting a regular link to the page. It'll get them there, anyway.

This new mission chain will take players into space, where the new GATEWAY space station is a brand-new hub area for missions in outer space. Currently this is the only mission based out of GATEWAY, but we've got some future plans that'll require space suits, so keep an eye open for that.

    Istvatha V’han. I'm calling it.

Also, if we're really gonna do more with the GATEWAY, I would like to ask if there could be some clearing up with the difference between UNTIL and UNITY. UNTIL deals mostly with Earth-Based issues, while UNITY deals with Paranormal and/or Extraterrestrial threats. In this case, we'd be working more through UNITY, not UNTIL. Really semantics, I know, but still
It makes sense, if you don't think about it.

I think images over a certain size won't post in threads.

Running through this with a level 40 Automaton solo was annoying. Being forever knocked into things and having the camera mess up as a result did not help.

I gave up at the legendary boss guy. I'll wait until my guildmates are actually on before bothering again. One of them can "tank" and eat all of those icky knocks while I stand hide behind a pillar and use Orbital Cannon. Then I will never take my Automaton into this mission ever again.

Isn't the point of a level 40 automaton that you can now delete or respec the character?

Isn't the point of a level 40 automaton that you can now delete or respec the character?

I've mostly been staying out of the Automaton debates, because I'm no build theorist. (All theme, all the time for me. I do enough database and spreadsheet work in the office.) Having run Sister Silicon Proto 01 through level 20, though, I think I have the Automaton figured out.

Aspect of The Machine is designed to make solo power-leveling quick, cheap, and easy. Why bother with synergy when you can just stack damage buffs as you steamroll through mission content? Run up the ladder with the AT, then once you've unlocked it for Freeform, use AoTM to run up the ladder with your future FFs before retconning them at 40 into their Final Forms (and a form power that actually synergizes with other powers, and doesn't rely on being alone against henchman spawn groups to gain stacks).

Think of it as Cryptic's way of taking aside that certain class of newer player that only levels through alerts, gently rapping them on the knuckles with a ruler, and saying, "There's a whole world of mission content beyond Westside. Go explore it." That doesn't exactly please the vets who have already explored beyond Westside plenty of times, but horses for courses, all things in moderation, can't please everybody, blah blah blah.

I'm hoping the PA-with-icing-on-top build of the Automaton is a trial run for deeper, more interesting Reawakened ATs in the future, though.

    Could be Star*Guard.

Could be a certain Captain since he was hinted at twice now...

Could also be a sharp turn of events for Roin'esh Phase 2...

    Or more Mechanon...
