Well, I've spent a good amount on this game, what with AT's, FF's, and etc, and finally found a toon I like, and have played through a lot of the different zone content... but ONE thing is missing.
I want my toon to be more of a "Street Level" hero. This means Millennium City needs to have more content that scales to your level.
What I would suggest (And I hope the devs see this) is that the Socrates computer can simply give scaling missions wherever you are. That way, if you're like me, and like MC the best, you can just do missions there. And everyone could get through that post 30 lack of missions in their favorite zone!
I don't like Lemuria at all. I guess I prefer MC because MC reminds me more of CoH than the other zones.
This would solve 3 problems at once;
1. People experiencing a lack of missions to do post-30
2. People could play their favorite zone more.
3. It would make Socrates more capable.
It shouldn't be that hard to do... just have those missions that people randomly run up and give you from time to time accessible through Socrates.
Of course, if any of you out there already know a way to find lvl 30+ missions in MC, or maybe there's a guide somewhere, please let me know. I'm getting so bored right now, I'm tempted to delete my toon and start over, just so I can do the MC noob missions again *facepalm*
Or, if you guys know the best place to wait for those townspeople to run up and give you missions, let me know. I guess I'll try looking for those before I simply start over.
I will give it look. I ended up re-making my FF toon. This time with more of a Gadgets, robots, Boomerangs theme lol. It's whacky, and might not be very strong, but it might be fun hehe.
Maybe the devs will see this post, and give us a new Socrates system that can give you level appropriate missions!
city of heroes had a similar mechanic where you could look in the newspaper or check the radio for random missions scaled to your level. random villains would call you out, or one of the established cillain groups would be doing something nefarious. it was a great way to take a break from the usual missions.
champions has the random "civillian approaches" missions... but these are not something thatyou can seek out on a whim.

Yes something like this would be awesome in CO. I remember those, you literally never ran out of things to do. Sure it got repetitive, but it was different enough each time that it at least felt exciting.
I think there was a mission chain, and after a certain number you would get a Bank Robbery or something to thwart.

Actually you CAN. Find a spot with a civilian being threatened by a group of enemies, kill the enemies. Sometimes(but not always) the civilian will give you a mission.
Help A Citizen missions will give you missions your level (not scaled to your level) starting at level 9 and running to level 29, with no missions given at level 16.
A few of the missions have a group or two of enemies that will scale with you.
Brains Behind the Breakout scales.
Demonflame's warehouse mission scales.
Steel Crusade part 1 scales.
Fatal Error scales.
Besides those you can team up with other players and run the missions at their level.
I've leveled all my characters in Millenium City on mostly Help A Citizen missions without going to the desert or Canada, and when I ran out of people to team up with, they made Alerts to fill the gap between 30 and 34 then I head for Vibora Apocalypse.
Your obvious choice is to run Alerts that are in MC, which there are plenty of. There aren't really that many Help a Citizen missions, so even if they level-scaled you wouldn't be able to hit 40 on them unless they were repeatable. Also, they tend to be 'run through a warehouse or sewer, possibly interacting with random grots'.

There are 90 Help a Citizen missions in Millennium City, there are only four different Grab alerts.
With double XP during Story XP hour and maybe an extra XP boost from Grab alerts, a map like Demonflame's warehouse will give you something like 26,000 XP* per run, just killing things, exiting, and going back inside (just like an alert).
I certainly remember on CoH / CoV running TONS of those radio scanner and paper missions. Some of them actually led you to NPC contacts and started you on a whole mission arc.
Also, I believe, after every 3 radio / paper missions, you got to do a (what me and my pals called) "Bank Busts", or heists or whatever they were actually called. These missions were FUN.
If you were blue side, you had to go as fast as possible to the bank, and stop the bad guys that were robbing the place. If you were red side, you were basically the bad guy going in to actually ROB the bank lol.
Of course... we didn't actually get to KEEP any of the wonderful glorious moneys we should have gotten. That would have upset the whole game economy.
It looks to me like they already have all the basic parts in this game to make this happen. The fastest part would be to simply add the random Help a Citizen missions to Socrates and make them scale.
Now, someone suggested I simply try doing alerts... but I don't know anything about them, have heard they are pretty difficult, and have heard a lot of players complaining about the idiots (their words, not mine) that they meet with in these things.
Maybe a "Smash and Grab" would be something I could try? I've heard also that you should at least be level 14 - 15-ish before you jump into one of these. I've shyed away from them because I don't want to look like an idiot lol. I will look for a guide somewhere.
Besides, I'm seriously thinking about making up pet / off-support FF toon soon. If I can make this toon good enough, I should have no problem finding a team. I might post what I've got so far on here over in Builds and Roles just to see what you guys think. It doesn't have a lot of healing at all really, BUT, tons of pets.
If only the server wasn't going down this morning, I'd be working on it right now.
Anyways... I'll see you guys around in game, and thanks for all the replies
EDIT: And also, this has been driving me crazy... with MC being such a large map, it certainly seems like the lack of missions is an awful waste of space.

So you stop getting help-a citizen mission after 30? Hunh, I guess that explain why I haven't gotten any recently, good to know.
