Bonus XP Weekend!

Champions, we're happy to announce that this weekend is DOUBLE XP! We're getting all geared up for Mechanon and the Steel Crusade update on September 4th, and to celebrate, we're going to be having some bonus weekends.

Starting Friday morning, visit Witchcraft in Millennium City, and you'll get a double XP buff. Come back all weekend to get it refreshed, 'cause this is the perfect weekend to get some leveling in.


Start time: 11:45am Pacific, 8/22
End time: 11am Pacific, 8/25

Got a hero concept you want to try out, or a character who’s itching to hit the level cap? Get in-game starting Friday morning, Champions, because you don't to miss our prelude to the Steel Crusade update!

    My problem is that I have a new hero concept - but the Lawgiver is a Reawakened Automaton (actually a combination of two ancient devices from interstellar space, a warbot and a lawbot), and I can't do that on Live until after the Double Experience weekend ends. #firstworldproblems :smile:

    Well, speak for yourself. I personally turn @handles off because mine is annoyingly long. If I knew that it'd pop up after my name every time I talk, I would've picked a shorter name. :rolleyes:

    Jonsills, just start a new alt. and load it, you get a free retrain remember.
    with the amount of alts I have, you have to look at the handle.

    SUGGESTIONS FOR CHAMPIONS: Z-STORE WANTS
    • BUILD SELECTION ABILITY
    • EMANATION POINTS AND POWER TINTING
    I don't have a freeform slot, so I do not know exactly all that is included.
    These two options would open a lot of creative options for me.

    SUGGESTIONS FOR CHAMPIONS: COSTUME CONCEPTS
    • SYMETRY-> Numerous costume parts do not have a matching "SET" for head to toe.
    • Strong for a man/made for a woman- Something odd happens when male and females enter the cosutme tailor, aside from the obvious differences there are costume parts that are gender specific, or only have a look that is gender specific. This set would allow more options regardless of gender - but no sophmoric jokes please.
    • VELOCITY COSTUMES - RACING STRIPES, STREAKS, ARROWS, etc.
    • NANOSUIT (Carbon nano fiber atrifical muscle-armor suit)
    • LIVING LIGHT - Aura's and glows are great, but how about adding a glow to costume parts (akin to the coloring options) Look at PUNK LONG hairstyle, all 4 color boxes could be turned into different glows for example.
    • GAP FILL -> A number of costume sets have Boxy or large segments that leave Gaps at joints. this costume options set, allows you a selection of KNEE, RISE, ELBOW, BICEP, NECK OPTIONS designed to fill the gaps.

    SUGGESTED TRAVEL POWERS
    1. SKATER- ROLER SKATES, SKATE BOARD, FRICTIONLESS STRIDE
    2. BOUNCING BALL- LIKE SUPER LEAP, OPTION OF SMALLER ARCS/FASTER BOUNCING
    3. MECHA TRANSFORM-Ground, you become a ground vehicle.
    5. MECHA TRANSFORM-AIR, You become a JET fighter.

    I went Gold recently (can't edit my avatar handle at the moment, or it'd show); I have more slots than I need, for the first time since I started playing the game. I'm currently leveling Starbolt, an old-fashioned PnP-style Energy Blaster, and Captain Punchfist, who does exactly what it sounds like he does.

    It's just that the only new concept I have is for a character type (specifically, an Archetype) that hasn't gone Live yet.

    Tactical Armor Z-Store costume set has a pattern named "Steel" which is exactly a set of synthetic muscles over the entire body.

    It's a bit of a shame that that one didn't win the contest, since Die Walküre was already an homage to a certain jet fighter that turns into a robot.

    I meant load it with xp bonus, so that when the new AT goes live, all you have to do is retrain it. and go from there.
    Intuition

    Build selection IS Freeform. AT's have a fixed set of powers, Freeform you select each power as you go

    Emanation points and power tinting is a perk for subscriptions.(and it's amazing how many people as soon as FF slots ( a subs perk)came out as purchasable, immediately started asking for emanation points and power colours,.)

    some costumes have glows on parts- they are the ones with a colour box with a heavier border. when you pick their colour, there will be a slider above the colour palette,which is for glows.
    as pointed out, there is a Suggestions section on the forums, post your suggestions there.
    and at all times remember we have 12 devs working on the game, as opposed to 50 or more on STO and Nevermind.

    1. RANGED (bullet symbol), Melee (fist symbol), Tank (Shield symbol), Hybrid (cog symbol), Support (cross symbol) or (alternately: avenger, meatshield, protector, sentinel, walking-box-bandaids, etc.) As a Free-to-play, I like the telepath... I would like it more if I could change BUILD from Support/healer to something with more DPS. That is what I meant. I purchased force AT, I would love to change it from "Hybrid" to Ranged.

    2. I know many costumes have glow bits. I Know auras are availiable. I was imagining the capacity to change more color slots to GLOW slots.

    3. Emmanation points and power tinting is something I would like to see in the C-store as well. A free-form slot costs 40$ and well... If that was all I had as an F2P would it be worth it?
    in my opinion, no. A long time ago I was a gold subscriber, now I am F2P. Looking at everything I've lost when I ended my sub and the total spent on sub,
    against I all I have spent on the game unlocks to this point...
    I would rather be an OWNER, and not a RENTER. "Renting" is someone calling you a slave.

    options ;

    Silver
    FF slots are purchased you own them.($50 a pop)

    subscriptions you rent the slots, for the duration of your subs. You are paying to use those slots, when you stop paying you lose access to them.($15 a mth for 8 slots plus a bonus one for every Level 40. plus free hideout, plus 50 zen per month, plus free costumes, plus free at's plus emanation points plus colouring)

    LTS is permanent purchase too.same as subs except
    $300 for 16 slots, plus bonus ones.
    the role changes are the same thing, AT's are fixed in their role, as well as their powers. FF get to change.
    you should see what happens when you change Ice from Tank to DPS.

    Role changes for ATs are also pointless for majority of them since they'd be limited by available passives. Unless someone fancy playing with no passive at all because wrong role.

    I think double Xp came a little early. Automation doesn't come for another two weeks, and you know everyone's gonna be cramming to get THAT to 40.

    Look, I'd like Color Tinting and Emanation Point selection to be in the Z-store too, but that doesn't mean subscribing to get these benefits is slavery. That's taking the argument for buying features individually from the store to an absurd conclusion.

    My issue was more equating subbing to an mmo to slavery. I woulda answered every question, but hyperbole like that makes my mind hurt. Nobody whips him with barbed lashes when he subs, or does any number of unspeakable acts to his family. I feel like the link in my sig proves I sympathize with the plight of the AT user, but some of em are *awesome*. I'm not even trying to touch renting = slavery, since dear god. I could link some horror stories. Subbing to an mmo = slavery? First world problems.

    Also, I've been getting serious SNRs and server kicks over this weekend. Just had a bad one that I'm about to log back in to. Y'all might wanna look at whatever infrastructure *could* be the cause. I know that it could be a bad bridge, but still. It's been bad. I'm not the only one. :)

    yes that was a ... weird comparison.

    i've been getting the snr's and dc's bad the last few weeks
    usually about 3 or 4 in the afternnon, , about 2-3am for the server

    Not until something interesting comes in to that AT than those current 2 "new" powers.

    Connection issues might have to do with the asshats making DDoS attacks around the gaming world this weekend.

    Cryptic might not want people blowing through their brand new AT in a single weekend, so wouldn't have double XP with a content update. But they might want people who don't have a level 40 to be able to actually play that new AT.

    Yeah, any word on this? I missed out on hours worth of double XP due to the downtime yesterday. Had plans for an alt to get to 40, not even halfway atm.
