Bank Robberies?

Okay so yesterday I was on my newest toon, and buzzing around MC doing missions for Kinetic, or maybe Sapphire, but anyway... I was flying along and suddenly I got that blue interaction bar near the bottom middle of the screen, where you can either accept or decline a mission. Well, this one was called "New Purple Gang Hostage Situation". And it was a blast!

It reminded me of those bank robbery missions on CoH. Does anyone know a way to get these mission regularly, or is it just a one time thing? One thing I found so far said something about going near the banks in MC. If that's the case, does anyone have or know about a map that shows the locations of these banks?

I would be very grateful to be able to do good ol' CoH style "bank busts" as we used to say on CoH. Thanks for any advice you all can give me!

Theres one a bit north of Corporal Antoine Harrison. Up the road on the right.
And one is north of City Hall, just take the right side road. The bank is near the Nemesis contact's Police Station.
Can't remember if theres any others.
I think the 'Bank Robbings' pop up randomly.

Thanks again for the advice... I think they were called "Safeguard" missions on CoH, and "Mayhem" if you were red side. I think?

With CoH / CoV gone, I don't see any reason why they couldn't start using some similar methods..... you now, with the police radio / newspaper, so we don't have to keep running back and forth to Socrates or other mission giver.

I wish they would give us a better world map with categories of stuff we want to look for, and a Waypoint system, like on SWG. Sure would come in handy @_@

Sadly the bank missions are stuck at level 18, I think, so they become a waste of time after level 25 unless you have a lowbie in your team to sidekick to, but then the door/mission share mechanism for these often screws up with a team. These missions tend to only show up when I have a full mission journal, annoying.

Save citizens, get Help a Citizen Missions, they are just like the bank jobs without the bank.

The Bank Robberies stop at lvl 18?? Awww man... all my hopes and dreams are dashed.

Maybe we could start a campaign to have them do random bank robbery prevention type missions once in a while, that are based on your level?

I've gotten 'Bank Robbery!' notifications at lvl 40.

Bank robberies are given ranodmly when you pass near either bank.

There are a few missions on each zone map that are not part of any mission chain. For instance, you can save a guy from being forced to jump off a ledge by Viper agents in MC.

they are virtually indistinguishible from the Alert though...
Although it is cool that it pops up when you're in that area, it's just a shame it doesn't happen more frequently in a way that would make it more well known.

I had a very weird problem with a bank robbery event in game earlier... I was passing by the bank near the ARGENT headquarters and it said something about a bank robbery event, so I decided to give it a try. It was a Foxbattlebot mission where you had to stop them from robbing the bank (the exact name of the event escapes me) but the oddest thing was this: I made it my primary mission and I got the blue arrow pointing to the bank but the door to enter the bank was not glowing blue and letting me enter like most doors that let you enter a locations are supposed to. The doors were just totally static-like. I ended up having to drop the mission, hoping to try it again and maybe not have it bug out on me the second time in case it was just a glitch... but I have not had any bank robbery events pop up since that one so I could not test this further. It did seem bugged though.

UPDATE: I just located a different bank robbery event, this time with Nighthawk and the vipers. It worked perfectly, so I think that Foxbat one was just having a momentary glitch was all. Also, this time I did not make the quest my primary one so I did everything different this time and it just worked as it was supposed to. Which was good! :)
