Hi i thought recently about a suggestions for freeforms. As we could see Night warrior passive grants when it's taken : sneak and shadow strikes ranked to maximum already so i wonder if the others passives could also grant two extra powers ranked as maximum linked to it (to follow the Night Warrior's example). So I made a list with the opinion of some people of all passive with their bound powers ranked granted by each for a freeform who took one :

Passives Powers granted by it

Tremor (Rank 2, Rank 3)

Id Mastery : Ego Blade Dash (Rank 2, Head Shot)
Ego Surge (Rank 2, Nimble Mind)

Ego Form : Ego Blade Dash (Rank 2, Head Shot)
Ego Surge (Rank 2, Nimble Mind)

Congress of Selves : Collective Will (Rank 2, Consume Will)
Mindful Reinforcement (Rank 2, Revitalizing Boost)

Unstoppable : Intensity (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Decimate (Restraining Order, Crippling Challenge)

Shadow Form : Summon Shadows (Rank 2, Devouring Darkness)
Ebon Ruin (Rank 2, Rank 3, Nyctophobia)

Aura of Arcane : Clarity Arcane Vitality (Rank 2, Impart Freedom)

Aura of Primal Majesty : Ritual of Primal Summoning (Rank 2, Unbound Ritual)

Aura of Ebon Destruction : Ritual of Ebon Summoning (Rank 2, Unbound Ritual)

Why would my Pistol wielding Quarry user shoot arrows?
    Just a thought.

And they should have made Stealth separate of the Night Warrior Passive.
And include blades and stuff to Shadow Strike.
    But that's just my opinion.

But hey, free powers can't be bad.

But then again, one could say these changes would requiere them to trash the current Powers Stuff and build them again from the scratch....

    Finn has a point here.

If anything, Shadow Strike should be a separate power of the Night Warrior. Same as Stealth.

Instead of automatic powers granted when taking a passive, what about powers in the game getting an extra effect when you use the appropriate passive with them.

Examples - Yes, all of these requires removing innate, overpowered effects already on them.

    Energy Projector passives will access:
Negative Ions, Clinging Flames, and Chill will apply using the appropriate powers
    Knocks getting full effect

    Technology passives will access:
Unbreakable recovery getting full effect full effect including advantages
Energy Unlocks working on powers outside of the Technology tree

    Martial Arts passives will access:
Masterful Dodge getting full effect full effect including advantages
    Dragon's powers gets Rush Buff

    Mentalist passives will access:
Ego Surge getting full effect including advantages
Telepathy debuffs stacking beyond 1 of each type

    Brick passives will access:
Able to keeping Enrage stacks beyond Enrage's Rank outside of battle
    Unleashed Enrage getting full effect

    Mystic passives will access:
    Ascension gets flight
    Ebon Ruin trauma
Mystic Healing powers getting full effect
Able to keeping Aspect of the Bestial stacks beyond its Rank outside of battle

And this is just a starting example. Some powers just need to be more useful when used with powers from the same set. This kind of balance will also discourage Frankenstein builds.

I'll just second this idea, It is just far easier a choice for Balance I think Not that Stealth or SS are truly that unbalanced really but if I had to take one...It's Flying Finn idea...I am sorry...It is a good idea and I can understand the thinking behind it... but it's a balancing nightmare I think...

Oh a side Note...Both SS and Stealth can be out of theme on builds alot, that isn't alot of fun :(

    Shadow Strike should've never existed.

The sneak buff should've boosted your single-target damage by like 150% for melee attacks, and 100% for ranged ones. You can make sneak attacks with more things than... Pretending to stab people with your fists. Of course, this sneak buff would only be activated once every 15 seconds.

Think about it, you could make deadly sneak attacks while actually using your blades or claws! And have legitimately deadly sniping attacks made. And also the really goofy possibility of a Haymaker sneak attack.

The big reason for this? The current Night Warrior setup really clutters up your power bar. It doesn't really even end up as the fluid, synergistic setup you get with things like Laser Blade or Fire builds, where attacks logically lead from one to the next. You just Shadow Strike once every 6-15 seconds and then use whatever random stuff you chose for your character, because it doesn't really buff or combine well with any other moves.

I'm even a bit iffy that sneak should've been paired up with Night Warrior as well, but in that case it's a bit more integral to the overall role and theme of the 'Assassin' passive, despite the fact that NW already is borderline overpowered for being a global damage buff. In general, let passives stay passive I say.

I would love to see a passive power for the auras of X to allow them to switch between the Clarity/Destruction/Majesty/Protection. Or even Destruction/Protection toggle would be cool. It would make them more useful in large groups.

I think I disagree here. It's a great power for a certain range of concepts, such as, Assassin Strike, Powerful Chi Strike or even an energy dagger (think Invisible Woman's Force 'Kill' attack) etc.

So in that sense it is useful, at least in my opinion.

I'm inclined to agree here now, because of the simplicity that just having sneak would have granted. I've heard many a player suggest that Shadow Strike should have been an Active Offensive or something but the Sneak in itself may have been better off as the buffed damage and would give access to a variety of stealthed attacks as you previously mentioned.

THIS. So much more than anything. I actually refrain from using NW as much as I would like to because of the issue with power bar clutter. I personally like things to have space between them on the top bar, this becomes impossible with NW's additional stuff all over the place.

I think there should probably be two/three passive windows instead of one. And have Shadow Strike/Stealth and NW occupy them and keys could be assigned to the Stealth and SS power slots. When people have a non NW passive they are greyed out or something.

Even though it didn't work that well, I did like Sneak being it's own power. But I guess we can sort of get around that now with Invisibility Devices and Stealth Aura, not to mention travel powers like Ninja Vanish, but those still break immersion and can go against a theme or desired effect.

I think NW's dodge/avoid percentages would have to be altered if sneak wasn't a part of it. I assume it's so low because you are expected to be in stealth most of the time.

this is a bad idea due to the same reasons Finn and Meedachunist stated. not every themed brick is going to use a brick passive. something like this will destroy many peoples effective THEMED builds.

Bullet hell is a supernatural gunner, she's SUPPOSED to fly with wings when she uses ascension.

Ascension is also what makes Laserhawk Truly Laserhawk.

Mentrance would be destroyed by this because her build needs to use AoPM to function properly at this point. limiting telepathy debuffs to one stack for her would make her unplayable.

Forcing people to take passives based on ONE persons view of theme is BAD!

By choosing Manipulator or Mental Discipline along with AoPM you will have access to both the full mental debuff stacks and Ascension flight.

If I want Ebon Ruin's trauma and still want to use Quarry or Night Warrior, I could get Compassion or Aspect of the Infernal to get it or even one of those magical circles that count as a form to get Ebon Ruin's trauma.

You're already maneuvering around the game's current balance to make your "themed" build. How is making the game balance better and encourage people to use other passives and forms to get bonus effects any different?

The difference is whether or not you like it.

    first and very important question;
How do they separate powers purchased from a list, from powers purchased from a list, and give them separate DIFFERENT abilities?
