Server Disconnect Hell

At approximately 3:30amST and up, players have been ruthlessly and repeatedly booted from the server over and over again. Its not the case for all players but a noticeably high volume of players have been dealing with this including myself.

I am able to log back in (some times) but when I do I notice that NPCs are constantly stopping and moving, chat doesn't work (channels do sometimes but not zone) and then after a minute it goes to Server Not Responding and then boots me.

Can anyone else confirm that this is what happens to them when they DCed around this time?

    Indeed I`ve been punching my laptop since I came in CO today...At first I thought it was my internet connection but everything else works perfectly :/

    Yep, ive been booted repeatedly, i know this happens sometimes but this time its probably at its worst.

    Its not exclusive to this game. Its happening to all of Cryptic's games as far as I know of.

    This is happening to me. SNRs when changing maps, in alerts, in main zones, any time!

    After most recent one I couldn't log back in via game client so rebooted modem and router, restarted launcher, after 7 or 8 attempts to get the launcher to log in I'm now stuck with a "Patch" button.

    Oh..wait, I have "Play" now, but clicking results in "Unable to connect to account server (3)"

    Game client finally launched but stuck at "Connecting to account server..."

    "Connection to login server timed out"

    Sometimes it WILL log me in but I get disconnected and it refuses to connect again.

    Same here, something's seriously wrong

    Also... those having connection problems.. what ISP are you on?

    I've got Verizon FiOS and it's still lagging.. fiber isn't supposed to lag.

    Verizon may be choking your connection to Cryptic. Its not your ISP that's the problem this time. At least not exclusively a certain ISP issue.

    I've had a few in the last 5 hrs of play
    my freind has had more, he gets"account server down"
    he was getting Dc'd in alerts and outside. i just got done in alerts.
    we both gave up about 2hrs ago.. so about 2.30AM st
    OTOH, logged on to DCUO after and had no npcs showing when I flew to a mission area. Took about a minute or them to show and they were attacking me during that time. Lag was real bad. so i gave up after about 5mins of trying to hit key and have something happen

    Check your connections

    cmd.exe

    tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com

    Somewhere in that list there probably will be a time out

    type
    ipconfig -flushdns

    then check the the trace route again.


    There were two x class solar flares yesterday with more expected, could be that.

    Maybe we'll get super powers, like an extra mole on our cheek or something.

    I have this issue at times, but it's normally due to my ISP blowing **** giblets.

    Check your connections

    I've had intermittent, crippling connection problems exclusive to this game since beta.

    on topic, I used to have major lag and dc problems, which strangely went away with on alert. Then other people started complaining, so it seems to have just migrated.

    I'm having the same issues. When was the whole net neutering supposed to take place?
    I'm having a few issues in other games, but CO is the worst.
    I keep getting all the messages I've seen in here. Unable to Authenticate, Client Server Timed out, Connection to map server lost, and even the mystery just kicked with no message.

    And why do I keep having crashes with the message "chat threader failed to initialize"? I was sending tickets till I stopped and noticed my ticket generator keeps issuing the same number. I don't even see a ticket for this when I look at "My tickets", why is that?

    I hope somebody starts to address these problems. We want to play, we want to tell people Champions is the greatest, but you guys are making that almost impossible, change it.

    Make me think upgrading to a lifetime sub was a good idea, because right now, I'm starting to have my doubts. :frown:

    My chat keeps lagging, occasionally SNR too.

    Im going to take a break for a while i think till this clears up. its too fustrating.

    I didn't have this problem over the weekend, but now...

    Booted three times in as many minutes. :frown:

    Wasn't doing anything special. Just doing a few Westside missions and either rubber-banding or booted.

    A few hours after my last problem/issue it seemed to sort itself out but now it's started again. Kicked from Alerts three times in a row by SNR, luckily was teamed with other high levels who'd have no trouble finishing.

    Now I'm getting "Unable to connect to account server." when I try and log back in for a few minutes, then it's fine.

    Until I next get SNRed and kicked.

    Basic suggestions for everyone having connection issues;

    Get a spambot and adware detection software. These will eat up your pipeline on your PC and make your connection a living nightmare and even cause connection loss due to delayed ping times. Making sure you have minimal impact and clean your system regularly helps to maintain a decent connection speed.

    If you are using a router, make sure you are not over taxing your router with multiple devices pinging through it. When a lot of devices are using it (especially ones taxing the system with spyware and adware) this can cause your connection to slow to a crawl which also causes time outs because of delayed ping times.

    Finally, do several traceroutes to make sure that you are not getting a time out along one of your hops. If you are getting time outs this will affect your ping times and you will need to contact your ISP to help resolve the issue.
