So i made bigby on champions online from wolf among us for RP purpose only because i love!! That game really not 1 hour later i log back in i get badname 1356284 and the costume was deleted i spend like 45 minutes creating it by the detail. It looked 99% similair to the real thing u could know its bigby from a mile anyway so why was it removed?
Because you can't make copyrighted characters. You will very likely get reported if you do. If you get reported for making a copyrighted character the costume will be deleted and the name will be changed.
You may see clones all the time in CO, but most get stamped out eventually. Cryptic does this because they would be held responsible by DC/Marvel/Whoever and could be sued if they did not.
The GMs removed you over other obvious copyright characters because they are familiar with that character specifically. Cryptic employees aren't familiar with super heroes and video games based on super heroes.
Ah the anti clone police must of been out in force that day, for such a character all I can suggest is never EVER show them in public areas. Make a guy named Bigby, have a single outfit made to look like that character. and wear that outfit only when inside instances with friends you trust
Ironically the main reason some clones go on so long is the admin and even game populations is not as well versed in modern anime and the like so especially such characters can get by a long time with few to no reports popping up and some actually not being held as trademarked images by the companies that created them.
Sometimes its just the admin being lazy. I once had a character called Clark T. Wayne. made it both here and in back in CoX. in CoX it went 3 years before it was genericed. Here it lasted about 24 hours. I was actually suprised, but I guess even just using a mixture of civvie names is enough to get them all cowardly and needing to go against their very own advertising line of play the hero you want to play * except characters you may actually be a fan of and long dreamed about making to play in a sandboxish adventure game enviroment*
I still have Hei spot on from darker then black, never ever had any issue but I guess being called Hei and most of the time dressing like a guy in street clothes and a green field jacket isnt to easy to notice as being right out of an anime.
Well your kind of screwed, but to be fair even from an RPers standpoint if everyone could play an MMO as if it was a cos play costume party larp as their fave anime character etc, how long until just as we have with popular icons already a dozen hulk wannabes etc running around.
an MMO is just not the place to do what it is you want to do bud. There are rules and one of them is you cant use property of other companies for your own here in their sandbox.
Its honestly probably cost them more money in potential players who wanted to do just that in their own tight little circles.
I know just from forum word of mouth since ive not been on in many months now, that the marvel clone sgs and DC clone sg are still very active and thriving to the annoyance of fun notzees everywhere.
Your only other choice is not use the name, and go with a similiar by slightly altered look in clothing and werewolf styles and just be the character in the way you RP but accept you cant use the other games specifics for your character.
Or say frell this game, and wait on Project Awakened which to me looks like the single best attempt to see on the horizon for the super power RP action game genre.

Meh it just sucks that i cant do it and they removed the costume file..
Read the ToS - you know, that thing you had to electronically sign before you could even make your very first toon? You were in violation.
Further, the type of violation you were committing is the sort that very nearly got Cryptic/CoH shut down back in the day, until it was settled out of court when it was revealed that the trademark-violating costumes were being made by Marvel employees, weakening Marvel's lawsuit. And that was back before Marvel had Disney's attack lawyers available to them. If Cryptic was suddenly faced by a suit filed by one of the major players in comicdom, given that CO isn't exactly their premier property, do you for one moment believe that they and their corporate masters at PWE would not shut the game down faster than Kinetik?
Look, if you want to write fanfic, that's fine. There are multiple venues through which it can be published. But please quit trying to violate US and international trademark laws in this arena. Some of us would actually like to keep playing this game.

If you do please tweak the name and change the appearance slightly, at least that way you can call it a homage and have much less of a chance of getting reported.
Or just do the whole thing over again and watch what happened last time repeat itself...just don't come back and complain about it here because you have already been warned.

That is honestly the best way to do it unless you look like him anyways.
For instance, I have Ratty which I dress up as tons of marvel people. The way I get around it is at no point do I call myself Batman or do I look just like Batman. I will always be a rat dressed up, kinda like Foxbat. I also have Augustus who looks like Mario in the face (mostly the mustache) if he worked on the railroad and I like to make Nintendo looks for him, not cloning anyone because I keep his base look always in check.
I have more fun trying to redo looks from game/comics more than copying them completely, because it is against ToS and it's just more challenging.
My favorite things to watch is when people make humanoid Pokemon.
It is a thin line from homage to clone, best way is to ask:
Am I trying to make _____ character? <-- against ToS
Or
Am I trying to give my toom a similar look? <-- not against ToS
First of all thnx for commenting on this thread helps out a ton and i would like to give a new twist of the fables RP in champions online trying to create a Sg with players that would make the other main toons and give the whole story our own twist!
And too bad but yes i made him again on my main toon named well duhb Salutage and he's looking really good waiting to buy a set to make the tie and the collar so it will be a perfect match
Comments
so i dunno what is up with that, maybe you created him when CO had a lot of players and devs online. sort of like rush our in CO
I created my Cyclops at night so maybe try creating him again at a different time..i dunno
I ended up deleting him the next day

GMs are not Devs. those that remove inappropriate characters are not the same as those who create the content.
