This has been happening to me off and on. Saturday was particularly bad. Around midnight I constantly disconnecting and crashing. I gave up after an hour and a dozen disconnects. Was uncool.
I had it all saturday and part of Sunday,SNR - DC, play a while, repeat.
eventually it Dc'd me and wouldn't let me back in. This was about 15 minutes after my friend had managed to log in for the first time this week.
Yes we had people on chat channels complaining of the same thing in NW & STO. I reported and got told to check my internet connection.
They obviously missed the bit about people in the other 2 games were having it too.
Strange it worked fine playing DCUO.(god that game is simple)
I've been getting it a little bit myself, but not as often as others claim. Whenever I do get a SNR though, it most likely means my game is not too far away from Crashing since that's what it follows up with after about 10-30 minutes. Force Verify does nothing for this issue.
Strangely I've been getting really bad lag on ESO, which is why I'm on CO again for a bit. I suspect it's something to do with the infrastructure in the US. My friend on the east coast is having connection problems too.
Afaik PWE is on the West Coast and I'm connecting across the Pacific. Zenimax is headquartered to the east, so did an earthquake or something happen in the central to East Coast?
Yup, game is totally unplayable for me now, for the last week now it has been having disconnect issues and it has just gotten worst and worst untill at the start of today I was getting disconnected every 2 minutes then instantly disconnected a second or two after the first loading screen from picking which character to play. Then on into staying up but leaving me stuck in whatever area the character was when it was last logged out and totally unable to interact with anything or anyone with PMs being the only thing I could do. And now it will not even start the game launcher just keeps saying tried to connect X times, have let it get up to 9 times before giving up.
Oh, and just before it started not even starting the launcher the game repeatedly crashed and the second time it did the auto crash report that comes up when the client crashes also crashed itself. I mean really, the crash report interface crashed? Are you snerious?
After I have talked this game up so much to people in DCUO I am kind of pissed that they seem to be just nuking it for no reason. Honestly thinking about disputing my Subscription payment with my card company, I am not getting the service I paid for so I don't think they should have my money.
~I'm a figment of your imagination, a mass hallucination, only real because you feel I am~
It might help if you indicated what part of the world you're in.
I'm in the Pacific NW of the US, and have had absolutely no issues with SNRs in CO. Some small amount on STO loading screens, and occasional issues with rubberbanding (particularly in sector space), but my CO experience has been pristine.
As these are the only MMOs I play currently, I can't speak to connection issues with any others - I'll ask my roommate later if EvE or NW have caused him any problems lately.
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
I can say that games that PWE hosts are having lag / packet loss issues due to their service provider having issues. As I'm assuming CO is still hosted with Cryptic's provider of choice I can't say for certain if Cryptic's provider is also experiencing issues which would indicate either an infrastructure issue or a bunch of backbone providers being a bunch of poopy heads in terms of not honoring peering agreements causing an infrastructure issue.
I had really bad rubber banding today and dc's.
Then I checked nettest, ok.
Noticed One Drive was uploading(little cloud symbol on task bar), turned that off. Rubber banding stopped.
If you have One Drive on windows, check the blasted thing isn't hogging your bandwidth.

It's been happening to me, and I run my gaming off of a stripped down win 7 shell, running just enough to keep the thing operational. It's just CO, too, I can play every other mmo and game without a problem.
Thankfully, the lag spikes here aren't too earth shattering. Mostly.
Yes, that is a 60 second lag spike. It hit 120 before it broke.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.
Here's the problem with your observations; if you are encountering lag spikes but no one else is the problem probably lies somewhere along either in your ISP itself or along the route your ping travels.

exactly this;
assuming the problem is in fact not on your end, and many people saying this is not on their end don't really have the background to state that, it still is much more likely it is just your isp. maybe everyone experiencing no such problems with any pwe game or any other mmo should post here to get you guys a clearer picture

... I reported and got told to check my internet connection...
that actually is a great advise, it was just not helpful to you
don't want to pick on anyone, so please forget about that quote.
clearly we can say you have a computer, you know how to start it, and you did have internet connection at some point. are you now an it-proffessional or my neighbor whose knowledge about IT does not exceed that level?
all the statements in this thread deserve probably the same answer, since it is the one that might be most helpful in this case; of course i could make a list of the next few hundred reasons why this could happen ( have a connection? ok , does your little brother/roommate/.. use the whole bandwidth to download ...)
to give a really bad example(just stay with me a bit) my car doesn't work, i now post in my gas stations forum (..) that it doesn't work. i also (sry i use your post for this, don't want to attack you) post a picture of the steering wheel. ???
if i did have knowledge of cars i would surely say that in my post so it is save to assume i don't. also my post itself is a statement that i am no professional IT( car is not working, great couldn't possibly be hundreds of reasons why that is, and mostly nothing to do with that gas station)
ok that example is getting only worse; if you have problems with your computer please don't be cheap and pay that guy who deals with such things all day long a few $ to help you fix it. and if he/she comes to the conclusion that indeed everything is fine(low chance), he/she will surely be able to help you to post something meaningful
i really don't know why everyone thinks having a computer makes you a it pro, having a car surely makes you not a car mechanic
of course if i host a mmo on my pocket calculator people will experience some problems; doesn't sound like a long lasting business model, typically there then will be queues if more people want to play than my pocket calculator can manage to host
what I do when I have a problem , is find the support site for whatever product it is and get them to run through everything.
I checked nettest, I checked routetrace. Its no worse than it normally.
My last one got up to 140sec before it booted me.
I am posting what helped me, I do not expect it to be what is affecting everyone but merely something they can check.
yes I know I am NOT , in any way , shape or form an IT person, let alone an expert. However, have you checked your internet adn tried turning off your router , when I had already told them that I had tried that, was not helpful.
same with the NW crash problems, there's a whole group of people who can't play since Fury of the feywild update.
we all got;
are all your drivers up to date.(I had told them, that I had checked and they were all updated.)
send us a copy of these two files
do this , send off.
have you updated your drivers.
then the ticket is closed
its like they have one form letter.
i maybe should remove that quote,that post was not meant to be directed at you
what you describe sounds ok to me, they told you the top reasons why that problem may occur
and looked into some data collected at your end
problem was not solved- that outcome is of course not so great for you and i am not sure why the ticket just was quietly closed (maybe some weird legal reason? no idea) but my guess would be to take it as something along the lines of we don't know why you have this experience, might be one of this reasons on that list with hundreds of items - all not quite something we can do much about and all not relevant to your problem, just the one that actually is causing this and we can't find out at our end with reasonable time spend on this
exactly this;
assuming the problem is in fact not on your end, and many people saying this is not on their end don't really have the background to state that, it still is much more likely it is just your isp. maybe everyone experiencing no such problems with any pwe game or any other mmo should post here to get you guys a clearer picture

The reverse is true as well, just because you aren't having problems doesn't necessarily mean something isn't wrong with the servers.
There are a number of things that can cause problems with someones connection. A port could be getting bogged down by something, or the port could be broken, your isp could be having problems, their isp could be having problems, a router could be down, the internet itself could be bogged down in your area. Their network could be having problems, a part on one of the server blades could be malfunctioning.
Your computer could be running slow due to technical problems, the servers could have a problem with how you are connecting to them, those aren't the only events that could happen but those are some of the more common problems.
i agree, the list of probable causes is huge;
best to start to check where you actually can do something about it. and many people just don't have the background (which is totally fine, i can't repair my car myself too) to even state that everything is fine and move on on that list to more remote causes
actually there are now some of the top reasons why this might happen and some good things you can do in this thread;
we could expand this further to catch every possible reason along with the right thing to fix it - but while i can understand a bit someone might be a bit pissed being told by tech support to check the internet connection if he experiences connection problems, one might be equally pissed if they would send you a copy of a several hundred pages strong book about IT taking you a few years to work through
The NW problem, the end result for pretty much everyone is . ticket closed. Look under the tech support >graphics on their forums
It affects AMD & Nvidia drivers adn varying ages of them.
but anyway, turning off the stupid upload thing. I save to usb anyway. Has fixed my lag.
route test, yes I'm one of the ones who gets the scenic route through Texas.
Heck, the other day everyone in my household was experiencing massive slowdowns. Tried several troubleshooting methods. Turned out my desktop's wireless card was putting out RF interference that slowed everyone's wireless connection to a crawl; plugging into the router with a CAT5 cable cleared that right up.
It's just amazing the number of things all along the net path that can mess up your connection...
