Vermilion

If the palette addition that ocurred in the past was any indication (when we got stuff like the faded colors and the blue-grey/brown-grey shades) it should be very easy to add extra entries to the palette. That said, could we get a column of colors that are shades of Vermilion? Red-Orange shades.

I request this because there's a whole bunch of shades of green, and a whole bunch of shades of blue, but only one red.

Yes we need more colors. Why do we not have sliders?

Heck, why not a whole regular color-editing thing in place of the regular selection method?

Devs want color and skin palettes kept from overlapping... For reasons.

I could've sworn certain skin and costume part shades are already the same... Heck, some people manage to make themselves look nearly or completely naked. I've seen people who look like they have nothing but stickers covering them...

...but I'm getting off-topic here. Yes, we need more shades like vermillion... and perhaps indigo. All I can use is royal blue.

Almost any skin color that isn't on the left part of the palette can be found in the costume palette. Making a naked character is ok, but only if it's an alien.
Also, having "fake" color sliders ( with about 10 levels of amount for red, green, blue and black ) would still allow us to make all the colors we can think of. But yes, it's 10000 colors, so it would recquire recoding the whole thing AND would put more stress on the server.

I agree with the adding more colors, but I'll settle for having the same palette for skin that the other parts already have. Yeah sure players can make naked characters (they do already as is), but let them get reported for taking it too far, rather than penalize those who want to utilize it for different pattern/tattoo/whatever looks.

I like the sound of this suggestion.

I know that it can be annoying trying to find the correct colour in some instances...sliders and/or more shades would be a welcome addition.

I want this. There are already naked human characters, and it's really an overreaction to try to stop them when there's a report button and there aren't even costume parts to make the private areas. We ought to be able to have more options, the vast majority of us who aren't making naked characters even though we already can. We could at least have more skin colors for our aliens and non-human things...

A full-range color pallete could be done while also avoiding the issue. When selecting a color on your outfit, just do a check like 'if RBG values are within 5/10 values of skin tone's RBG, and on a tights piece, revert color'. That would help stop the specific problem of nude-looking characters.

In most cases, not all. But then again this is an 'issue' we have right now, what with that one shade of orange that looks way too close to the default skin tone. Yeah, because yes the vast majoirty of this games barbaric players have characters that run about in the buff you see them all the time right

Of course I didn't go about suggesting that just yet, because one is just adding around 10 new values to an array of palette choices, while the other is entirely changing a UI element in itself.

Honestly, this would be terrible solution.
Sometimes you need skin and some parts matched to the same shade of grey or white to make that metal-skinned face looking like a part of mechanic body.
Or other application, not necessarily used for making naked toons.
