Announcing the Design a Costume Contest Winner!

The Champions team is happy to announce that the Holo Armor is the winner of the Costume Contest! Congrats to Eiledon and Necratech009 for creating the winning costume set.

Their entry will serve as inspiration for an upcoming C-Store Costume Set, so be on the look out for that.

    Thank you for this update Dwightmc, just a qeastion for you tho if you do not mind me asking, it might be a silly one too but here goes. Will both full sets of the hole 2 entrys be made into a hole costume set?

    A much more practical question.

    When and how rewards will be delivered?

    We have to wait until the costume set is produced, or Zen and AF's will be given first to all who made into voting phase, and the costume set will be given to the victor later?

    Also, will it be handled by GMs ingame, or we don't have to be logged in to receive rewards?

    Congratulations to the designers, you both did fantastic work. I am looking forward to this becoming available and will for sure buy a set.

    Wonder if they are gonna mention the honorable mention (if any)

    "If your design doesn’t get chosen don’t worry, you won’t go home empty handed. Second and third place winners will receive Action Figures of LordGar and Iris Irregular along with their choice of 2000 ZEN worth of items from the C-Store. Fourth and fifth place winners will also receive Action Figures of LordGar and Iris Irregular, and their choice of 1000 ZEN worth of items from the C-Store. All runner-ups will also receive a previously unseen dev Action Figure!'

    Not sure if runner-ups are 2nd - 5th, doesn't seem like it, unless 1st just doesn't get it.

    Its entirely reasonable that prizes won't be rewarded until the costume is made and out so that the winner(s) gets their prize at the same time along with the limited copies to hand out as they please.

    Even if it is the case, I'd like to hear it from someone from Cryptic, not from speculating player.

    Also, I don't think it's a good idea, neither it is reasonable.

    Making costume may take a month and only first place victor is really interested in waiting that long.

    Cryptic could do as well hand all prizes for all places now, and then hand costumes for 1st place later.

    It would change nearly nothing, and would be much more convenient.

    Congratulations to Eiledon and Necratech009! Love the set design and I'm looking forward to seeing it in-game!

    However, I really, REALLY want to see Meedacthunist's Variable Robot set get made as well. I REALLY want to be able to use that one!

    I like other costumes in the contest, including some that didn't make the final five. That said, I have no complaints about the winner. You did good.

    Yeah, I really hope that deal holds water. It would be shame if we don't get rewards :) Gratz guys for the 1st place, they did amazing job :D

    If the last create a contest is anything to go by we will see the design in game sometime in the next year and a half.

    The problem with giving the runner ups their prizes now and the first place later is that it makes the devs have to do something twice. Cryptic has a habit of doing a task all at once so they don't have to backtrack. Its inconvenient for the devs to have to unnecessarily retouch something multiple times.

    Speculation is speculation.

    Also, sending few items to a game account isn't a terrible amount of work, you know?

    And if there is a problem with backtracking such simple things, then there would be also problem with remembering who had to be given rewards after one month.

    There is LESS to backtrack with only costume sets distributed later, than with everything to distribute later.

    Now, if this is anything like the create-a-villain contest, expect to see the runner-up costumes right away and the actual winner available for purchase in a few years :biggrin:

    Sorry its taken so long to respond but I've been ill and not able to get to playing or anything really. First, I want to thank everyone who voted for the Holo set and wanted to thank everyone for their kind words of congrats! Second, I wanted to thank everyone who participated! It made it great fun! So many great ideas and submissions that it inspired me to draw some of the ones I liked. Keep in mind, its only a few of the many that I liked. Sorry its a little sloppy, I just wasn't feeling well.

    I too was wondering how the prizes would be given out. Maybe they will contact the winners and finalists personally. I am patient either way. Can't wait to see what is made of the set!

    Not quite yet, but soon. I can confirm that things are proceeding nicely, and we have an update blog/forum post/screenshot update on the schedule, but it's not there quite yet. Stay tuned!
