Need build advice for a magic/gadgeteering character

I noticed both can make use of ego and intelligence as super stats, just need to figure out a good passive and third super stat to complete the package

    EGO with INT/CON is a "popular" combination.

    Have you any idea which powers you'd like to use?

    Or what role you're looking at filling? (DPS/Healing/Balanced etc)

    DPS or Balanced probably, I dont really enjoy support much, might add in some pets though. As for the powers nothing has been finalized yet

    I don't usually pair Ego SS w/ Int SS for ranged toons, since you only need one to scale off Concentration. I usually take Int, since I'm also pairing Conc w/ MSA and cd powers. Ego would be if I was using Hunter/Killer's Instinct, for the most part.

    If ur going for the Concentration + MSA setup, I'd take an INT/Dex/Con or DEX/Int/Con SS setup.

    What I find to be a fun gadget/magic build is Pulse Beam Rifle with overdrive and Quarry, then use the rest of your power slots on one ritual pet, a bunch of uncontrollable pets, and a heal (Vala's Light is my favourite) to keep the pets/party alive. PBR can do some serious damage at a nice range, so it acts like a pointer for your pets to follow. You shouldn't have much problem with energy really if you go overdrive and commander-multitasking. Circle of Arcane Power may be pickable though since I find myself ending up stationary when using PBR.
    Go for more offensive pets with that one though. Ebon summoning and fire snake work well together as I believe Ebon applies clinging flames which fire snake then does more damage when applied?


    Alternatively, you might want something more defensive, to which I suggest you go Gauntlet Chainsaw, Energy Shield with Laser Knight advantage, Tyrannon's familiar (it can tank a little, keeping heat off you), Ritual of Primal Summoning (causes bleeds and fear, I recall), Summon Shadows with Devouring Darkness advantage (your "heal"), darkness lunge, and finish it all off with a hold. Maybe PFF as your passive, with field surge, and that power armour PBAoE with the shielding advantage (Unleashed Energy I think?) to replenish it. Maybe have spirit reverb as your energy unlock as three things will proc fear in this.
    So, you prepare your pets, then lunge in, chainsawwing your way to victory, while two kinds of shield plus pets defend you. This is partly because I want more people to use chainsaws because CHAINSAW.
