Jets, futuristic bikes and other advanced vehicles are not quite compatible with some themes Wizards, medieval knights, elfs, magical creatures and some kinds of monsters look quite weird and dumb when using them. Adding Dragons, horses for them would be very hard and complex to make. And not using any vehicle at all gives us a certain disadvantage
So I had this idea. A vehicle like A BIG HALO floating behind our characters, once activated a massive vehicle sized HALO would appear behind us, the character would enter a floating animation and from now we would have all the vehicle powers and abilities.
Of course it doesnt need to be a circle like a halo, It could have many forms and themes, it could spin or not, even mecha would be cool, since having a mechanic circle rotating behind me sounds less aggressive than riding a motorcycle. Also, our characters would be visible and not hidden boosting the customizations possibilities. This is an easy idea since no complex mechanisms would need to be added to the game engine.
*my only personal request is to give them more neutral colors for the main base like white and black
Going to resurrect a version of something known as The Standard Code Rant.
When commenting on a software system, where you've never seen the code, either directly by viewing the code or indirectly by seeing samples used in other projects by the same studio, one should refrain from making statements with regard to a project's relative difficulty (Hard/Easy/etc).
There are things that look simple on the surface that can be HORRIFIC fuster-clucks under the hood due to how certain systems are accessed, how they interact, or whether someone is still on the team who knows how said systems WORK.
Hm. It'd basically be a reskin of Chariots, with a different pose. The tech is here, it's not a huge amount of work. I wouldn't use it but it would be cool !
I could actually really go for that, so long as there are versions for different themes; i.e. magic, technology, etc.
It is also most definitely possible, as there are already the chariots and bikes, which display the character using them. Calling the OP on the "standard code rant" thing appears more to be a method of shooting the idea down, with this being the case.
I won't claim that this would be easy/medium/hard/etc, but that it is possible as other vehicles that display a character already exist.
Why shouldn't we need more vehicles? IF they aren't stronger or weaker than other vehicles and just look different: GIMME MORE.
That Idea with the Halo would be awesome for holy Characters.
Imagine a big guy in yellow/golden armor wielding his greatsword suddenly starts floating, a halo appears behind him and starts shooting holy yellow beams. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
Or something different that would be really hard i guess.
Costume Editor for vehicles, hell i would play CO 24/7 for the rest of my life.

I can imagine both that as well as some other options, such as an arcane spell-ring, or a mechanical ring or even a sci-fi energy ring.
hyperstrikecoh, highreality basicaly answered you there is no rocket science here! This made me remember an old chinese proverb beautfldssonance, chariots with a large turbine underneath them are not going to help much, and sadly, the more the better I have no idea from where you came up with that. theoryfive, the halo was just one Idea, it can be mechanic, magical there are infinity options. The options you gave were all awesome, I wish I had one of them! exodawn, thats JUST what I had in mind.

Easy to model (i guess) and it doesnt even look silly
