Really what im looking for is a high DPS single sword build which has some survivability, but mostly just a high damage build, with some nice AOE type attacks as well if possible.
7 adv points leftover, and travel powers left open.
I kept Dragon's Bite in there as the thematic 'Rush' ability, but I'm not really sure you'll need it for energy w/ lvl 40 gear, FotT, and MSA. One of those 'try and see' things, I guess. Also left the last power slot open to w/e ya want. Good picks are Viper's Fangs or Shred for the shredded debuff, or Ego Surge w/ NM.
I put Palliate/absolve in there in case ya also wanted a threat wipe (+a heal), but since you'll have good defenses otherwise ya may not need it if you want another free power slot (depends on the content ya wanna do, or ur goals).
I'd recommend Sword Cyclone or Shuriken Storm as ur AoE option- that is if you don't want to tear ur hair out trying to make 10ft cones work (srsly, my biggest gripe having leveled a Blade AT wasn't the lack of survival, it was just basic AoE/trash mob grinding- extremely arduous compared to other builds). Its the only part of the build where you prob do want to break the SB theme a bit. If you pick Shuriken Storm instead, you'll want the Strong Arm adv too.
I'd suggest taking Str to 70 for the additive melee bonus and some knock resist (possibly more if you wanted more knock resist), but focus on Dex and Con primarily, w/ a side of Int & Rec.
Yeah Aoe's in melee builds unless its a dual sword build, are extremely hard to grind with because they don't have the best in the Aoe department, but why do you suggest int over strength?
Str as a secondary superstat is not really that great. The benefits of it cap out around 70, and provide little else in the way of actual benefits. Int provides cost redux and cooldown redux even past the 70 marker, making it a better choice overall as a secondary superstat.
The only real reason I would ever see taking Str as a secondary stat is if you were using Enrage as a toggle and wanted a different primary superstat.

I should also note that Int fuels the energy gain from MSA, which I put in this build, so there's additional reason I made Int, and not Str, a 2ndary SS.
But yeah, ya can get more Str if ya want knock resist, but many knocks can be mitigated w/ proper blocking, and ranking a block power up also helps that. Parry w/ EM also gives some knock resist when ur attacking in melee, which is partly why I stuck that in.
Alternatives that have Str SS'd for knock resist & more dmg when gearing some Strength are STR/Dex/Con, though you may need to rely on Rush more for energy and it won't be as easy to level with, or STR/Dex/Int, but then you'll have lower health. Even w/ Str as the PSS, you still want to gear mostly for Dex due to using a Focus toggle.

For the knock resist, maybe -- this doesn't have diminishing returns.
