Here's a place to dump new weapons suggestions for Cryptic North to implement into CO... just ideas for what you want to see. This is also a spot to gripe about the lack of weapons and whatnot and discuss NPC weapons we can't have, etc.

    One of the default pistols.

    Looks a lot like the Uzi/Mac-10 analog in default pistols.

    The one that's paper thin, doesn't have a barrel aligned with the cylinder, and has a muzzle flash to the side? Yeah, my point here is that they suck.
    One of the default pistols.

    Not that I'm seeing.
    Looks a lot like the Uzi/Mac-10 analog in default pistols.

    It's not a pistol. It's an SMG, and the character's left hand hangs just in front of the muzzle gripping nothing.

    I think before going into more hi-tech weapons, CO needs first to cover basics, since it already has many gaps in this department:

    GUNS:

    1-M1911

    Three probably the most iconic and overused weapons. Both Colts are also higly generic and can be used as models for many other guns. After all, how many pistols are more or less exact copies of M1911? Or how many SA revolvers is just copies and upgrades to Colt SAA?
    Mauser is also very pulp era weapon. It is actually much more recognised than P08 used in our pulp hero costume set.


    4-Pocket pistol

    Doesn't need to be Walther, may be Makarov, or Kel-Tec, or whatever, but the game needs pocket pistol model, at least one. If model size is a concern, just enlarge it with silencer.


    5-Flintlock rifle/musketoon

    Because we have flintlock pistol, but no rifle to complement it. Strange. But we have completely not fitting wheel-lock arquebus (but again, no contemporary wheel-lock pistols to go with it).

    Doesn't realy matter if Springfield, Mauser, Smellie, or whatever. But at least ONE classic bolt-action model.

    1-Spatha/Migration Era Sword/Viking Sword

    An absolutely generic Dark Age blade, probably the most overused sword design in the history of the West. Something of use from Roman to Viking toons, and that's a quite of a timespan. A large family of basically identical blades differentiated only by their hilt designs.

    CO has far too many Asian blades and not enough western ones. Heavy weapon unlocks are spammed with anime-like swords and katanas, but there is no single proper western sword. Weapon pack is also filled mostly with Chinese-looking blades.
    One of CU villains is immortal woman using Claymore blade. Well, she'd have a really hard time trying to do so in CO, looking at all our silly and poor HW unlocks.


    Also, it's really time to bring back the old weapon unlocks.

    Single/Dual Blades (light melee weapons)
    - Machette
    - Toolbox hammer (slightly oversized)
    - Flanged Mace
    - Normal Baseball bat

    Claws
    - Tonfa
    - Three-blade Katar
    - Gun Blade!
    - Brass knuckles
    - None

    Heavy Weapons
    - Guitar
    - Caveman Club
    - Claymore (any blade with more realistic proportions).
    - Spear
    - Halberd
    - Glaive
    - Jousting Lance

    - Large baseball bat
    - Rebar with concrete chunk
    - Bent road sign

    Sniper Rifle
    - Crossbow

    I cannot stress enough how much I want polearms for Heavy Weapons. Yes I know a set would be better but skewer's a great attack and would likely look completely fine with most polearm models.

    One of the odd little things I have noticed is that while The New Purple Gang have Blade Men with little blades, daggers I can only assume, yet, our heroes can only select long or immense weapons to wield.

    How about a simple New Purple Gang drop for a simple, short dagger.

    How about before we head down this particular road they release the absolute mountain of weapon geo unlocks that are sitting in the live files right now? There were a ton of them back during the Tailor Explosion on PTS in about January 2012(I could be wrong about the date but not the stuff there). Just put them in the drop tables for missions/mobs/not alerts and encourage people to get out there and lay waste to the countryside in the name of goodies.* :cool:

    *Without some stupid On Alert Rarity Levels. Let's have some things that are just things you're likely to pick up while leveling a toon through a particular area. Also...BoE and Able to be sold to vendors for 1G so there isn't a flood.

    I'd like to be able to use my Qularr sniper rifle as a sniper rifle instead of just an assault rifle.
    I'd like to be able to use my Qularr assault rifle as a sub machne gun (and for energy rifle powers too).
    I'd like to be able to use my Qularr pistol as a gadgeteer pistol.
    I'd like to have a chance to get the Qularr Shotgun i didn't get when it was still available.
    I'd like to have a chance to get the Qularr Minigun i didn't get when it was still available.

    The game has so many weapon unlocks that dissapeared when they got rid of the power replacer items which dropped them. Plenty of visual effects too. I would like more wepon items, but i want these more.

    Go give Team Fortress 2 a shot and it'll explain itself fairly quickly.

    To steer back on topic, TF2 does have some nice weapon skins fo miniguns (and we desperately need more of those).

    Step one would be to simply add weapon costume unlocks for existing art assets, like weapons used by NPCs.

    Also, before putting anything new weapons in, they could start by putting back all the ones that got removed while "On Alert" was introduced...

    That's exactly my point here.

    Want to make a modern-day, non super-hi-tech swordsman? Here's a stick. Or a farm tool.

    Right now our options are 'Chinese stuff', 'hi-tech space weapons', and 'fantasy weapons', and 'historical weapons'.

    This is supposed to be a superhero game set in the present day. Some weapons with a more modern twist would work. We don't need jeweled broadswords, elf sabers, etc. We need something with a more contemporary feel.

    adn the first one looks like several exhibits at the fremantle museum of old maces.Where i realized that clerics weapons, not being meant to draw blood was a joke

    Being the melee fan that I am I agree that there are a ton of fantasy based options available right now. Personally I think there should be more hi tech blade options and not just the variation of "light saber" (even though that's Bunni's main weapon, cause I love glow :P)

    Would be nice to see for a single blade, as well as incorporating the TK blades as single blades for melee builds (but PLEASE fix the horrible coloring options fir them ><)

    Also we NEED polearms as well as more/better options for staffs not to mention non tech bows and even the tech bows without the "laser" additions.

    Can we just opt in for a new powerset that revolves around the long awaited pole weapons and spears etc?

    Also I'd like to see some bigger epic katana style weapons for heavy weapons
    Even though these weren't prefered to be used back in japan, they still did tons of damage.

    A Pole Arm powerset would be nice, As would a Shield-Sword (Mace, hammer, whatever) Powerset or even a Whip Powerset. Would also like to see an actual Sheath/Un-Sheath option instead of the gimic commands to get them to stay out. We can do it in STO, why not CO as well?

    My list of weapons I'd like to see....

    Sai
    Flails (Nunchakas, Medevial Flails, Ball-Chain)
    Polearms (Spears, Halberds, Naginata, etc.)
    Daggers (Maybe even a matching power set)
    Anime Fantasy Blades (Single, Dual-Wield, etc)
    More guns (Both Modern and Sci-Fi)
    Nyte Kitsune-STO and CO LTS Member

    Funny enough, when looking at some of the Gatling gun customizations, one did/could look like the Brass Beast or the Crank Gun from Bioshock: Infinite.

    I think that, but only after retuning all missing weapon costume unlocks (they're the most logical priority), CO could use more iconic weapon models. Guns and blades that are recognisable at the first sight.

    Please, disregard that they're transformers. It's about their blade models. A set of blades replacing character hands could be a neat weapon skin for unarmed martial arts, might, or claw powersets:

    Yes, we do have Roi'nesh arms, but they're very organic looking and their "hand" parts can't be set to metal material. A strictly tech-looking equivalent would be nice.

    Bring me my Talsorian weapons back. Rename them to 'particle blades'. This game has laser swords already, i'm aware of that, but our selection is extremely small and not exactly admirable. And with semi-transparent weapons already existing in the game (Psi blades), we're well aware CO is capable of semi-transparent weapons.

    I also agree that daggers and knives need to be more prevalent, as there is next to NONE in game, and the only ones available are pushing "short sword".

    I'm all for fleshing out claws/single/dual weapons, as well as more weapon styles (Soul Calibur is a great reference). Could also use more fantasy bows; if one is going for a mystic/arcane archer, then they're kinda limited to modern/techie stuff.
