First and foremost, I'd like to say that the firearms mentioned in this thread are posted for reference and inspiration purposes only. In no way do I expect Champions Online to produce copyrighted weapons, nor do I expect all of these weapons to make their way into the game. This is merely in the hopes that someone sees the idea and takes steps to create something for us munitions gun-monkeys out there.
As it stands, we have a few firearms that are 'conventional', and this is something that does need a little love. I'm not saying it's the most neglected weapons costumes in CO (Ego blades, claws- sorry fellas) but we could all use a little love in this area.
Like I said before, I know not every one of these weapons will make it in game, but here's hoping that the suggestion might spark the hybrid of a few of these or at least a reasonable imitation.

For completing both Plains Drifter and Pulp costume sets. Both are very iconic models.
Dunno why we have such obscure weapons like P08 Luger in Pulp set (quite popular look, but not THAT popular in movies like Mauser C96 and P08 never was widely used outside of German army, and even Germans dumped this shooting catastrophe in late thirties), but no really iconic models like C96, Colt M1911 or Colt SAA.

Flintlock Musket/Rifle
We have flintlock pistols but no matching flintlock rifles. For obvious reasons alredy existing ingame (but unavailable since On Alert) wheellock arquebus isn't a proper companion for flintlock pistol (And just like Luger, should not be a first choice for including it ingame. It's a wheel lock weapon, has little to do with golden age of piracy. It should be flintlock musket instead.).
Most needed are for sure Colt M1911 and Colt SAA models.
i would rather see allot more skills for the same weapon, we only have a few gun skills and they barely do a full bar justice.
better yet, there are way to many weapons with just one skill, that seriously needs to change.
I fail to see how many different useful powers can be created for sniper rifles or rocket launchers, really. Or for submachine gun.
What we need is greater interchangeability between weapon models and powers.
There is no reason why all the existing assault rifle and submachine gun models aren't available in all assault rifle/smg powers. A real life factor of greater range for rifles is nonexistent because we aren't shooting at realistic distances. Enemies are very close and what is labeled on tooltips as 50 or 100 feet doesn't looks like a real 50/100 feet. Certainly not like a real 800( 2600+ feets) of real snipers rifle. 120 feet range of snipers rifle? 120 feet is a real world average distance for assault rifles and really good shooters with submachine guns or very powerful handguns. We may be as well using SMG and AR skins with this power.
We should be able to use all AR/SMG skins with all AR/SMG (and maybe even sniper rifle) powers and all AR skins with sniper rifle power.

This would be nice. Also they could look at post modern Shadowrun weapons as well like the Robocop gun/Ares Predator.
Also, they need to return the RF Pulson pistol as another experimental blaster skin for the gadgeteer. I used that for a long time until they made it Munitions only. It's not really about powers, meeda. You're right - there aren't that many superhero powers that can work with guns. It's about skins - about the different costumes your weapons can have. Captain Americlown is of course a Soldier - but he's also a clown, and the closest I could come to a clownish weapon for his machine-gun power was a tommy gun with garish colors. (At least I had an old musket unlock for the Rifle, and the silly six-barreled Gatling Pistol for his Pistol powers). A greater variety of weapons, and perhaps the ability to color them properly (or improperly, as the mood strikes), would be nice.

That's why I think it's better to have complete interchangeability of models between rifle/SMG/sniper powers, instead of creating new powers for every weapon type.
