A few powers I think Force needs.

1) A nice satisfying, single target, maintained beam. Not because it's intrinsic to the genre of force field users, but because this set is the go to for those players looking for an energy projector who shoots an undefined energy. If you want a Cyclops, Havoc, Mz Marvel, Silver Surfer, or any other hero who wields a non-elemental energy you'll probably look at Force and all of those guys I mentioned tend toward beams over blasts. And there's just something very satisfying about pouring a full maintain of energy rather than tapping a blast over and over and over.

2) Invisibility. Make it a toggle, by taking it you forgo the damage boost from Concentration or the defense of Redirected Force. Out of combat you're as invisible as Night Warrior but you don't move with that weird crab walk, sneaky step. Your movement isn't slowed and you don't get that over powered back stab. In combat your character is sort of faded out and it keeps your threat low, like a personal SoRS. Maybe a nice damage boost to your first attack that enters you into combat, maybe on par with what you'd get from full stacks of concentration.

3) Force Disk. This is a travel power rather than an addition to the set, but I think it would be awesome. You fly on a disk of force much like Hove Disk in terms of speed and maneuverability. Rank 1 is a circular disk. Rank 2 becomes an oval. Rank 3 is kind of surf board shaped.

Power armor has those things if people want them, as those powers have been modified over the ages based on the whims of the writers.

There is a reason stealth has never really worked in Champions as it stands now; invisibility breaks game mechanics. And the only way devs seemingly know how to handle stealth game play in an MMO is either it's the most powerful tool to exist or it's the most worthless. There is a reason most games seem to be leaning away from the absolute invisibility power these days.

Why would their be a visible disc?

Yeah, I've made use of PA for a few cosmic heroes and it's worked out okay. But if you want optic blasts you either take Eye Beams, which do not stand well on their own, or you tap Force Blasts out of your face which looks like it's giving your character whiplash. I stand by my suggestion.

Invisibility is a staple power of comics and this is a comics game. Put it in and figure it out. Out of combat it wouldn't be anymore game breaking than Teleport, Tunneling or Night Warrior's Sneak. In combat it'll do the same thing, minus the healing, of another power we already have. Hell, I think they need a kind of Intangibility too.

Why would it be a visible disk? For the same reason Force Shield is. And, gradii, it's a travel power from the Z store.

Ah, I see. I was responding first to championshewolf and then answering you and we confused each other.

To championshewolf: Visible disk because it's the "Fire Flight" of the Force set so should match the appearance of that set.

To gradii: The way I see it, the Force set was envisioned as a force field power. But has also become a go to for non-elemental energy projectors and I think it would fit there especially if the graphics match the rest of the set. It'll fit as well as Crushing Wave anyway. And between the two players could make use of Overdrive better, since it doesn't seem likely Force will get it's own energy unlock. And I think we need a good non-elemental beam attack that can project from hands, fists, chest, or head.

I also think Fire needs a flame thrower maintain to better model the icons that inspired it, but that's another fight.
