I came to this game at the beginning. Took a break for a bit. Just came back. Alerts are fun, but I long for the days of teams running full lair missions. Full Nemcons. Whiteout, Resistance, etc. Does anyone do those anymore, or is pretty much alerts and "Q" runs?

I'm not judging anyone, it is just that if that is what this game is now, I need to save my dime and once again step away.

Eh, I do what I always do: run solo missions, level up characters to 40, shelve them and start new ones.

Part of that includes XP alerts. With melee or less alert-friendly characters, or when I'm currently hating other people, I'll do just enough XP alerts to keep the bonus alive. Otherwise I'll use it heavily when I run out of Monster Island missions.

I never did much in the way of lair missions, and I don't really do Gravatar. I don't even do much Q-seeking activity unless it happens to consist of XP alerts.

There are still groups that do lair runs and nemcon (if the queue is fixed) for more than just Q, they farm for costume parts as well as other objectives. However this isn't as common as it used to be. Your best bet for random groups to run things will mostly be on the weekends. With the new shiny Rampages, I'm sure more of the focus is on them in general.

Yes, people do all the things in the game still. Join the player-made channel Rampagers and ask in there for people to come with you to places. Also M-City zone chat. Right now everyone is Rampage crazy because it's the new thing and gives gear, so don't expect too much until that calms down. I'm usually up for stuff though, and I already decided to be casual about rampages so I might very well join you if I happen to be on when you ask.

I especially like Aftershock... you ask about that I'm guaranteed to come.

I love all of those things, too. I do alerts, but I also run missions, series, and lairs.

I really, really like running tough lairs on elite skill with groups that like to mix up strategy chat with joking around.

    I am @roughbear in game.

I've been playing for 3 years and still haven't got a group to go all the way through Nemcon. Just bad timing on my part, I suppose.

I'm always inviting people to run through lairs when my characters get the missions for them.

I did one Lair but only one... They are SO LONG. I generally do not have the time and what they reward can be a bit eh. Then again I do not have a single lvl 40 character and am still working on my characters.

I and the people I usually team with don't do very many alerts. My main character has had an APB alert mission for over 4 months without finishing it now (picked it up in late October if I am remembering right).

We do, however, run a lot of Monster Island and all the action packs/comic series.

This is part of what keeps making me take breaks from the game. I dislike alerts. I mean sure, they're good filler and sometimes I'll grind em for costumes, but I like plot. Story lines. The traditional MMO experience, raiding a dungeon and spanking a boss, is what I tend to build for. Some of my toons *can* rock an alert pretty awesomely, but it's a side effect of what I actually set em up for, and never my actual intent.

And everyone I usually ran this kind of content with has quit for one reason or another.

I've got a few channels I can tap to get a run together once in a while, my vent group was usually pretty open to it, but even they're slowly drifting off to other games. It's actually pretty telling, imo, that most of em that are left have basically decided to get all of the 5k kill perks as a way to kill time. That's like the litmus test for me, when I feel the urge to kill 5 thousand of something just to do so? Break time.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

My Tanker Tuesday group tends to run lairs and the like. We don't do normal missions content though. Simply due to the broad swath of player levels and the fact that the basic level-up content is so shallow.

The main problem is time. Serpent Lantern and Whiteout can be knocked out fairly quickly but are still somewhat time consuming.

    Resistance is freaking crazy though.

Other things, like Telios Tower and Necrul...well, if you've outleveled it, you have to find someone in the proper level range to team with and be SK level or there's no real point to running it.

    Or you can grind alerts...*SNORE*

^ I'll second that. I've done tanker tuesday like a dozen times, it's some of the most fun I've had in game in a very long time.

I occasionally do Adventure Packs/Comic Strips when I feel like it, kinda discouraging since my last few runs lead to being the proverbial 5th wheel, so unless people aren't using Elitist Builds/Devices, it's not so fun otherwise.
Want to get to know me a bit better, Click me and take a read of My Dragon Profile Page, it's a bit dated but still relevant.

I take this quote from a review that I agree with.

"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."

Trouble is, I've run all of it. The only two things I haven't gotten out of Therakiel's Temple for instance are the Neph Wings (low drop rate) and Therakiel's Sword (added AFTER I used to run it a lot). Also, I don't reliably have 3-4 hours to set aside knowing half the group has never seen TT before. Mandragalore and Andrith are both rage inducing, although both aren't as bad as they used to be. I understand Andrith is practically fixed now. I've done Nemcon to death, and every time I ask about it, I hear something different is bugged, so I've kinda' lost faith in it.

Destroyer's Factory still isn't worth running, Telios' Tower is worth running, but extremely long for only having two bosses. Dead Cave (or whatever it's actually called) isn't really worth running, nor are Moreau's Lab and Viper Nest. All of these dungeons have the second problem of being in easily out or under leveled spots in the leveling grind.

The AP's aren't too bad, but they tend to be long, particularly DF and Resistance. The CP's are in the same spot. Aftershock is kinda' sorta' a lot long, and doubled with a few of its strange sidequesty things, you'll have annoyed players sooner or later in there. Whiteout is great... except that it's the only thing that IS great. Also, occasionally a few things in there bug that require you to reset the particular 'issue.'

In short, they're all old now, and several of them showcase what NOT to do to make a compelling dungeon experience you want to play over and over again.
